I went to another company before coming here and never heard back (thanks for nothing, Door Outlet). Prior to visiting this location, I made an appointment to look at the types of doors available on the show room floor. When at the location, I picked out two doors with the help of Chris Owens. Chris explained the process to me about how long the doors would take as well as what to expect. After I picked out the doors and paid 50% down, Chris came to my home and measured my door spaces to ensue the doors I ordered would fit in my space. The install of the two doors I ordered was done over the period of two days. the backdoor took about half a day to install because the frame had to be removed. The front door was done in the period of a few hours today. Corey was the installer for both doors. Corey (like Chris) was professional and personable. Overall, I had a good experience with this company. While the wait may be long for the doors, the final product as delivered is sharp looking.

Even back then, there were a few items where I remember thinking, "Wait... this is the same price as new. Or more." I brushed it off as a few outliers. Fast forward to now? It's not the exception anymore--it's the norm. We walked through recently, and I was honestly shocked. I'm talking about worn-out, wobbly, particle board pieces--the kind of items that are one step away from the dumpster--priced at $200 like they're showroom furniture. Dirty, heavily used pieces marked so high it makes you stop and double-check the tag like, "Surely that's a mistake..." It's not. At a certain point, it just doesn't make sense. When brand new items from major retailers are the same price--or even cheaper--there's no incentive to buy secondhand here, even if you want to support a nonprofit. And that's the frustrating part. I do want to support local. I do want to support organizations doing good work. But pricing like this makes it really hard to justify. I'm hoping this is something that gets reevaluated, because this place used to be a gem. Right now? It feels completely out of touch.

It's pretty much what you'd expect, a big warehouse with a wide mix of donated and new items. There were rugs, dishes, doors, tubs, showers, washers, dryers, fridges, microwaves, and a handful of couches and TVs. They even had sporting equipment and a good amount of wood, tile, and flooring. If you visit often, I can see how you might stumble on some great deals. What didn't land for me was the lack of customer service. The only person who really engaged me was the woman at the front desk when you walk in. She greeted everyone who walked in, and she was warm, upbeat, and genuinely welcoming. Beyond that, there wasn't much support on the floor. The cashier seemed bored and not happy to be there. There's also security at checkout and a man sitting by the door. I'm sure it serves a purpose, but the setup felt a bit odd and honestly a little unsettling. I love the mission of Habitat for Humanity and think the organization does incredible work. As for the store, I'd probably only go back if I needed something very specific.

Cathy was one of the few who responded that evening via the bid and with her teams availability for the next day and also called me about the time window. I had to get the home cleaned again... the post construction dust was driving me nuts! They mopped, vacuumed, inside windows, countertops, bath tubs and toilets. They got to work, in and out in 2hrs. Alex and his team did a fantastic job installing a simple concrete patio at our house. I solicited…read morehis services on Yelp after reading through his numerous positive reviews (and even the one or negative ones) to determine he was the right guy for the job. Alex was very responsive throughout the planning and execution process, and even oversaw the entire installation. His crew were dedicated and skilled workers who were very kind. Scope of the project included covering an existing concrete slab. Alex made sure to add 3-4 inch rebar dowels every 24 inches and wire mesh to give the new layer something finer to hold on to, in addition to the binding agent for a more firm fusion. We also paid extra for the 3,500 PSI rated concrete given the Texas heat. Further, he extended the sides of our driveway, replacing the paver stone and gravel with level concrete. This also included fixing part of the walkway that had been pushed up by Live Oak roots, which was a tripping hazard, and now forming a smooth transition. Alex was also great when it came to pricing. He was very transparent, and me not being a concrete guy, asked a good friend who's been a general contractor for 30+ years to review the proposal and methods, and follow the work, all of which he said was done expertly.
