My dryer stopped working about a month ago. It ran but did not heat up. I called Mr Appliance and a man came out. After examining the dryer he told me it was the heating element and quoted me over $500 to fix. Since that is more than what I paid for the dryer I declined. I later learned that someone I was acquainted with works in appliance repairs and he came to look at it today. 20 minutes later my dryer was working. It was not the heating element as I'd been led to believe. So I paid $109 for an incorrect diagnosis and went for a month with no dryer went it was really a simple fix. Bottom line is they obviously don't really know what they are doing or are just lazy. Never again! if I could the rating would be zero. read more

Mr. Appliance of Macon tried to fix it stove. I thought over $500 was way to high for two elements but we thought it would be easier than having a new one delivered. Boy were we wrong! First off the parts were back ordered so after two weeks and a down payment of $260 a tech finally came to the house to do the repair. The tech breaks both elements during the install. I feel bad for the guy.... he says they are super fragile and is really worried about having to do this all over again. Says the company won't stock these parts cause they're so fragile. So we say alright just refund our money and we'll go buy a stove. Don't want to wait another 2 weeks without an oven. That's a full month...3 hours after the tech leaves us with a broken stove the company sends us a bill for the remaining money for the repair! THE REPAIR THEY DIDN'T REPAIR! So we figure it's a mistake but nope. They FORGED our signature on the completion order! The owner finally calls to say he refunded our money but it was only $160 because he charging us a diagnostic fee. So 2 weeks wasted, 90 bucks gone and we still don't have an oven! I used HomeAdvisor to find Mr. Appliance. They called within 5 minutes and I had an appointment within 90 minutes. They text a confirmation and a photo of the technician, which I appreciated. The tech arrived when scheduled and quickly diagnosed my refrigerator's problem. He told me that it would be better to buy a new one than to repair mine. And since they didn't perform the type of repair I needed, the diagnostic fee was waved. read more

When the appliances arrived the workers ran out the door after telling me to contact a electrician. I called Mr. Appliance of Macon who came the same day. They sent a text of what the worker looked like which is a big plus. The work was done with great ease. I received a hand written thank you note from the owners, which has left a great impression. You called Mr. Appliance and booked a service appointment for a problem with my LG side by side freezer. During the call I provided the make/model of the freezer along with the code (dh) that was being displayed. The technician showed and was very polite but also did not have the information I already provided. I had already defrosted the freezer and had the panels opened up. The Technician took a quick look and said he would return shortly with a quote. The gentlemen returned with a quote for $721 to replace the thermistor and the temp sensor. I paid $99 for the service visit and said I would be in touch. I researched the two parts quoted and they were both available for less than $100 with shipping. I contacted Mr. Appliance and asked why they were quoting $721. The message service said someone would return my call. I never did receive a call. I then researched how to change the part on YouTube. Turns out all I needed was the Thermistor. I was able to return the sensor and I am in to the job $53 plus the $99. The job took me about 30 minutes. This company apparently charges $600 an hour for labor. Be advised that this company may not be the best choice for your work. read more

Mr. Appliance techs did a thorough job of diagnosing my refrigerator as needing a new compressor. They ordered the parts and it took forever for the parts to come in (not their fault) but I was given the option to cancel the repair work. When the compressor finally arrived it didn't work and the fridge was deemed unrepairable. Mr. Appliance refunded the money I had paid, without my asking, and even sent a thank you note for my patience and for my business. They were always professional, and timely AND prices were fair and reasonable. I will definitely use them again if needed. read more

I called them about dryer which was working but the bearing at the top and bottom where the dryer door opens were cracked and snagging my clothes. They charged me $90 to come out and look at it and do nothing. They only brought the bottom half of the bearing which he didn't even know what it was called. I had to find out later at the appliance parts store. All in all they charged me about $150, did no work, sold me half of the part I needed, didn't even know what it was called, and I have to do the work myself and fix it now, after getting the rest of the part that I needed. This company took two weeks to get parts for our range. No biggie, they were on back order... not their fault. However, I paid $265 (half the quote) on the first visit. When they came back the installer broke both elements while installing. He said that the elements were very fragile and he really didn't even want to work on the unit. I said no problem, have the company issue me a refund and I'll just buy a new one. I don't want to be another 2 weeks without a range anyway. He leaves and 3 hours later I get a bill for the remaining $260! Oven is still broke! Not only that but the company FORGED MY SIGNATURE on the work completion form. I think that's criminal. Then Chris, the owner I think, called to tell me that he refunded $160 but was keeping $90 for a diagnostic fee. Our refrigerator was making a grinding sound and needed some repairs, so I contacted Mr. Appliance. The parts needed for the repair were not being made anymore, but Mr. Appliance worked really hard to find the parts. They were very easy to work with and repaired the refrigerator in a very timely manner. They were great with contacting us throughout the entire process and it was much appreciated! The only complaint I have is they would text the day before or night before they were planning to come out and it was difficult for us to make arrangements for someone to be here. It would be better if they could give you a little bit more advanced notice. read more

Scheduled an appointment for July 9th, 2021. My Samsung washing machine had a slow drip leaving water in the drum when the machine was off. I researched the problem online and every diagnosis was a defective water inlet valve and the solution is to replace it. In my initial contact with Mr. Appliance, I explained the problem, gave them the model number of the washer, and what I found to be the solution. Steve, the tech., arrived on time as I was leaving for work. I introduced myself, explained the problem, and what I found would be the solution. He acted very disinterested in what I had to say. I understand the $95 diagnostic charge up front that was listed on the website. Steve observed the dripping of water into the drum and that it stopped when the water was turned off. Solution: Install a new water inlet valve. Total cost: $427.74 and he would have to order the new water inlet valve resulting in another appointment and no telling how long until the part came in. I told my wife no. The YouTube videos I watched show a very simple repair. Steve explained to my wife that Mr. Appliance does not charge labor by the hour but by the job. What does that even mean? I had my wife pay the $95 I really expected the job to be no more than $250. I found the replacement part on Amazon (the original Samsung part for less than $100) and purchased a less expensive part (with a 1 year warranty) for $60. On July 18th, I installed the new water inlet valve going step by step with the instructional video in less than 30 minutes and this is the first time I have done anything like this. Imagine how fast a professional like Steve who would not have to go step by step watching a video could replace the valve. I really feel this is overcharging the customer and not being upfront on how they charge for labor. Needless to say I will not be using them again and I will tell everyone about this negative experence. read more

I had problems with the dryer not drying clothes although it had electric. They gave an estimated arrival time of the technician would be two hours. He arrived within an hour to isolate the problem, and had difficulty with the repair. Another technician was notified and he had the correct tools. They showed how the dryer was full of lint and was blocking the contacts on the motor. The technicians disassembled the dryer, performed preventive maintenance, performed a thorough cleaning, replaced the electrical cord, installed a vent, and reassembled the dryer. We were blessed because we could have had a house fire from the lint that had accumulated. Also gave them a Mountain Dew, an Orange Crush and water to ensure they would remain hydrated and able to finish the job. The dryer is performing as though it is new. I am extremely satisfied with the maintenance they performed, their professionalism, and their ability to explain the costs involved. I am a repeat customer because I had problems with our washer. read more
