The lemon butter sauce was the saving grace for the two fish filets. The blackened mahi mahi had exceptional flavor, but more akin to Cajun than the typical black pepper forward experience. Great portions, good rice, well-cooked vegetables. Great citrus vinaigrette for small house salad. Great commitment to nautical theme throughout dining room. HIGHLIGHT: Nick was one of the funniest, sweetest, and respectful servers I've ever had... anywhere. He truly elevated our experience and made it a memorable night as we celebrated a graduation. One of the family's must stop places to eat in Naples! Came with one and a half families, great atmosphere and menu for kids. They have some of the freshest fish and best preparations in town. The staff is very knowledgeable and did an excellent job of explaining every type of fish along with every method of preparation. Our server, Jamie, was a rockstar! Prices are fair. Under $200 for three adults and two children. Everyone in our party left completely satisfied. I got the black grouper grilled with Cole slaw and mashed cauliflower. The cauliflower was a dark horse for favorite side. Fish was cooked perfectly and lightly seasoned enhancing thug not masking the natural appeal of the fish. A local fave. Busy and bustling with seaside decor. The fresh Warm bread basket pleases all. Lobster bisque is on point. Linguini with clams were delicious. The Caesar salad was ok, very lightly dressed and not creamy. Kids chicken fingers were burnt so they brought out another serving and they weren't much better. Chicken was very tough. Chocolate cake desert was a giant slice, like enough for four people and it was pretty good. Have been here a few times and enjoyed most things. read more

First & not the last time here. I wanted the northern walleye but they were out of it so I got the Parmesan crusted trout, wow wow wow it was so good. I opted for the cauliflower au gratin & sautéed spinach, I brought home 1/2 of my fish because it was 1/2 of a very large trout. I also got a side salad with my entree. Excellent in every way. We've dined at typical expensive restaurants and Mr. Big Fish puts many of them to shame. We were visiting Naples and happened to find this gem close by. The packed out place is casual and not in the least pretentious. The lovely hostess was not only beautiful but so kind and welcoming to us. The service from Lynn was great and she has a fantastic personality that makes you feel right at home. They start you out with their ridiculously good bread and that itself is a good indicator that you are in for a real treat. Their food was absolutely delicious, just perfectly cooked seafood without missing a beat. Ocean Prime used to be the best sea bass we've had until we tried theirs. Wow! Mr. Big Fish gives you such a generous plate for a very good deal. I wish we could visit them more often as they have all kinds of specials throughout the week. We also had the lobster and were surprised at how much they give you for a fraction of what you would spend elsewhere. They could easily compete with high end restaurants and charge the extra big bucks and still get it, but we feel grateful that they stay down to earth yet still deliver you five star dining quality. We tried Mr Big Fish for the first time for dinner. It is in a strip center. We had a reservation and arrived on time. It was really busy and we waited just a bit for our table. Our reservation was for an outside table, not knowing the atmosphere. It was on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. Cars pulling into the center had their headlights shining into our eyes. This is not the fault of the restaurant but perhaps some privacy screens could be added or something. The meals come with a salad and a side. The salads tasted like they had been assembled early in the day and kept in a refrigerator until service. The food was okay. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The overall service vibe felt like an assembly line. Not so much attentive as more each step checked off and on to the next. It was not my favorite of the places we've tried on this trip. read more

Excellent seafood meal, excellent service, fresh seafood and all around a great experience. Made a reservation which was good as the place was eventually packed on a Friday evening. Sat in a booth in a side room, which was a little quieter, but still bustling with activity. Started off with some drinks, a lb of Jonah crab claws - first time for the kids, and octopus. Both appetizers were good, but the kids really loved the crab claws, the octopus had some nice seasoning. Entrees included broiled rainbow trout with asparagus and rice; broiled mahi mahi with broccoli and fries; sea scallops with spinach and rice; and ahi tuna with rice and broccoli. All seafood was fresh and flavorful. Waiter showed up often to replace our water, check in our food and was overall a great guy. By the time we left the restaurant there was a queue waiting for seating. Will visit Mr Big Fish again in the future! read more

This is a great local spot. It's in an unassuming location where you can tell it's a local hang out. The interior is so funky I loved it. The key thing for this place is their happy hour. From 3-6 you can sit at the bar and have a small bar bites menu. So much good stuff. We didn't make it in time to get a spot, but next time I will be there right at 3 pm to get a spot. We had the calamari and the mussels and they were delicious. The mussels were my favorite. I would definitely eat them again. read more

A great restaurant .. we walked into Mr Big Fish on a Sat. Afternoon to have an early dinner. Our waiter Henri was wonderful. He treated us so respectfully and he was happy and upbeat. He told us about the specials and Happy Hour. I ordered a drink even though it wasn't what I normally order (I like sweet frozen drinks, they don't have them). He was patient and so friendly. He brought us this amazing fresh bread and butter. I ended up not caring for the drink as it was very strong and he gladly takes it off the tab and brought me Iced Tea! The place was very clean and where we were seated was quiet and we were able to visit. The food was delicious ! The fish, the au gratins were amazing . Had a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Wednesday night in early March. The line was out the door and we waited about 15 min to get seated. Our server was prompt and courteous. Their bread and butter basket was delicious! Ordered mussels for an app - really good 7 out of 10.. Keep the bread to dip into the broth from the mussels. The branzino was awesome and perfectly cooked. The NY strip steak is hearty in size and seasoned well. Very tender! All of the sides were tasty but the cauliflower mash is the best! Nice setting for being in a strip center w/ inside and outside dining options. Our server also had the bartender make me an espresso martini even though it isn't on the menu. My husband and I shared the fried oyster dinner. As requested, oysters were lightly breaded and lightly fried. We loved them. It came with fries and onion rings, but we swapped out the onion rings for an additional salad. Service was prompt and pleasant. This was a Saturday night and it was good that we made a reservation. Mr. Big Fish is an absolute gem! I had the parmesan-crusted swordfish and it was out of this world--perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and just the right amount of indulgent. But honestly, you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Every dish that came to our table was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, and the service was just as excellent as the food. The only small disappointment was finding out that the oyster happy hour is only available at the bar--we would've loved to enjoy it at our table. Still, that didn't take away from a fantastic experience overall. This place is a seafood lover's dream--I'll be coming back again and again. read more

It's quite apparent they over book. We had 6:30 reservations. At least 50 people waiting outside for seating. We were finally seated at apx 7:15. Service was slow but probably due to over packed seating. The 4 of us had different fish and all were good. The ambiance was so loud it was difficult for us to have a conversation at our table. Disappointing to see the management places over booking table more important than customers. The good food didn't outweigh the terrible reservation system and loud ambiance. Having moved 6 years ago to the midwest from Houston, I try to get good, fresh saltwater seafood whenever I travel to such a location. Red snapper was on my list. Tried one place in Tin City and the fish was disappointing. So later decided to try Mr. Big Fish. Luckily we got there late in dinner service - got seated quickly, outside away from the cacophony of noise that is modern dining. Luscious bread was a welcome start from a very busy but delightful waiter. I got parm crusted snapper with 2 veggies. It arrived quickly and oh..so. delicious!! OMG awesome food. The fish was what I had been craving, and even the asparagus and spinach were perfectly cooked. I was fairly full after, but the waiter convinced me the key lime pie would be worth it. Mind you, I'm a key lime pie snob. Most places outside of FL just can't do it justice, esp if they are lame and add cool whip or whatever. It has to be that perfect mix of sweet and tart, with slight edge to tart. No food coloring, either. Good KLP is usually an unattractive shade of green. And WOW. I think I had THE BEST KLP I've ever had (sorry, Mom). Next time in town I'll definitely go back to Mr. BF. Maybe at lunch for 2 slices of pie. Then later savor the fish again. I love how this restaurant lets you pick your type of cooking, sauce, etc separately from what fish you want. Too often the 'blackened' or 'parm crusted' is only offered for a type of fish I don't like. This method makes everyone happy!! Unless you're just a curmudgeon. read more
