Loved this place! You don't have to be a guest at the Ritz to eat here. We walked in on a Saturday night and the wait was about 40 minutes, which was no problem at all. You can grab a drink and head down to the beach while you wait. The view is absolutely gorgeous and it is easily one of the best places in Naples to watch the sunset while you eat. As for the food, the portions are great for sharing. We tried the ceviche, which was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the wings were a surprising hit. I visited Gumbo Limbo at the Ritz-Carlton Naples expecting a more relaxed resort experience similar to other Ritz properties I've stayed at. Unfortunately the atmosphere felt very crowded and chaotic, especially around sunset. There was very limited seating, many people were standing with drinks, and service felt overwhelmed. My drink also tasted quite artificial and not what I would expect from a luxury resort bar. The setting on the beach is beautiful, but the overall experience felt more like a busy beach shack than the calm, polished environment I associate with the Ritz-Carlton brand. This may be a fun spot for a casual sunset drink, but if you're expecting a quieter, more refined Ritz-style experience you may be disappointed. read more

Best dining experience ever! My husband and I were staying at the Ritz for our anniversary and we decided to stay on property and have our celebratory dinner right by the ocean at The Gumbo Limbo during sunset. We were greeted and sat immediately. Miranda was our server and she was outstanding! Very attentive to our needs and made wonderful recommendations for our meal. My husband and I, each got an appetizer and an entree. I ordered the coconut shrimp and the grouper sandwich (fresh catch) and my husband ordered the southwest salad (1/2 portion recommended by Miranda) and the Cheeseburger. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were delicious! We ordered the key lime pie for dessert and it had the perfect tart to sweet ratio. Miranda informed us that they were taking care of the dessert which was a pleasant surprise, but it doesn't stop there. Right before the sunset we were approached by a hostess, who told us the have a tradition of ringing a bell on the dock and we were selected to do so! It was such a cool and unexpected experience. After we rang the bell, we received a miniature version of the bell as a gift to take home with us as a memorial token. Every little detail made a very large impact on our entire evening. Little sharks jumping at dusk. People walking at sunset along the beach and then when it got dark the tiki torches were lit. Stunning view. The service was top notch. Metal water cups? Fancy (you can take them home and i did!) Keeps the water colder longer. A basic menu but absolutely no complaints. The vibe is chill. Overall, I would say the food is decent. We had chips, salsa and guacamole, and the salsa was definitely very tomato heavy. My Fiancé got the grouper sandwich which he said was good but definitely not the best that he had. The bread was cooked well and had a nice toast to it. The service was good for sure, but the wait was definitely longer than they quoted us so just keep that in mind you may have to wait longer than you're told. The food and drinks and gumbo limbo are great! One of the best pina coladas I've ever had! Tasted real and not like all the artificial slushie crap. They have recyclable tin cups so you can order and bring drinks down on the beach. The boxes for the food are also compostable too! We brought our food and drinks to beach. The salmon blt was very tasty, the piece of salmon was very big! The side salad was super fresh and plentiful. The Caesar salad has a delicious dressing that tastes homemade! It also has sundried tomatoes in it and really tasty croutons with shredded cheese. They also have a kids menu which is convenient. Prices are a bit high but that's to be expected at the Ritz and on the beach. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will be back when visiting Vanderbilt Beach! read more

Nice kid but asleep yesterday! Most important, get your receipt validated or bring your receipt to the valet for free parking. If you forget, it'll be $25. And online it says reservations. The hotel told me no reservations, soo when there at noon, hardly anyone was there and the female manager (?) was NASTY. Major attitude. 95% of the tables for us four were vacant and she gave us a hard time about reservations. Explained to her what I was told. Please stay on top of this. A perk is free valet parking for anyone going to a restaurant. We were pleased to see that Gumbo Limbo had an unadvertised children's menu, a big plus. We walked the long way around the outside of the Ritz, enjoying the beautiful views, inside and out, and crossed the boardwalk to find the restaurant. They were going to give us a table with a perfect water view but very sunny so we opted for a table that was more in the shade. Everyone enjoyed their food. My husband said the flavors of his shrimp curry were great but the portion was very small. My son loved the chips and salsa, and my daughter and I had delicious, good sized salads. This was a fabulous place to grab lunch! We came in around 2 pm and were originally quoted around a 30 minute wait but it ended up only taking 10 minutes. We were able to get a drink from the bar while we waited too which was great. All the food was delicious and the piece of salmon in the BLT was giant and perfectly cooked. Pros - beautiful location on the beach. We went on a Wednesday around 5:15 pm and got seated around 5:45 or 6, in time to watch the sunset over the ocean from our seats. While we were waiting, grabbed drinks and stood on the boardwalk chatting and watching the beginning of the sunset. The food was good - the chips and salsa/guac are very good and the pork and grouper tacos were both good as well. Drinks definitely were generous with the booze and were well poured - we had a mojito, piña colada, and old fashioned between us as well as draft beer and all were good. Cons - expensive. You're paying for the location and the view and probably the association with the Ritz. The food was good but there aren't chips and salsa/guac in the world worth $16. As long as you're okay with accepting the price tag, it truly was a lovely evening of food and drink on the beach read more
