They mostly had great attitudes despite the chaotic event-professionals all the way. There were extended wait lines, and sometimes popular items would run out to the disappointment of many. But that didn't stop the festivities! The music was lively, the artists had beautiful displays of wares, the food was delicious, and the city provided a perfect backdrop.

ROBBED. The food truck remedied the situation, thankfully, and I say mine was better. See the pix for best Vietnamese food if you're in Bklyn, but they are 404 on the map in Bath Beach. I'm guessing it's a roving food truck. Maybe you can summon them via the phone #. The best, most deliciously rich little cheese tarts had virtually no line, which I am still trying to wrap my head around. Ube and matcha cheese tarts went in my greedy little belly. Their card is attached. I had no room for the basque cheese cake, which looked delicious but was simply too big for me. Fancy. Many varieties of food, sugar cane being juiced with a roller machine to order, music, sugar painting and on and on. DJs, lights, the city.... Don't miss the next one, which is the last of the summer, sometime in August. Be early, the lines were long.

I first had to find the cart's exact location in Washington Square Park--he's in the southwest corner by the playground. Then I had to find his schedule--he generally works 4 variable days per week from 10:30 am-2:00 pm. It's best to follow him on social media (I use Instagram) where he posts his working days. Then come early or be prepared to stand in line! He's a one-man show and waits of +1 hour are not uncommon. Pretty much everything is made to order. I arrived a bit after 10 am; Thiru was still setting up. He does have a helper for set-up. Three of us were early birds. He offered me hot tea for the wait, then shortly began preparing my pondicherry dosa. This man is such a kind, trusting soul! A nanny approached and wanted some samosas for her toddler. She didn't have cash or her phone (NY Dosas accepts Venmo and Zelle), so her gave her 2 samosas and told her to pay him later! Also, he does not seem to check if your payment went through. His love of what he does (he's been at it since 2001) shines through his actions and interactions with customers. He takes photos with pretty much everyone. This was my first dosa ever, and it was delish. Everything here is vegan/vegetarian. The rice and lentil crepe had a crisp texture and was filled with veggies and potatoes. There was a coconut chutney alongside, as well as a small cup of lentil soup with veggies and 2 sauces, a spicy green one and a sweet mango one. He has a variety of drinks available also. I also ordered a samosa, which are premade out of necessity, and it too was delish. Overall a great cheap meal made by a genuine star. Nearby Michelin-starred Southern Indian restaurant Semma also serves dosas, which I'm sure are also delish, but perhaps not star-made.

It is in WSP, where so many of the downtown workers and NYU students come to enjoy break. The cart usually has a 10-20 people line, ranging from 25-50 minutes wait. I must say that I get the hype. The flavors are beyond incredible and I must say that this is the best dosa I've ever had. This portion was around $12, and was super filling and satisfying.

In my quest to explore the various cuisine scenes throughout Jersey City and specifically the Heights, I finally made my way to Angry Archie's. I'd seen them on my previous exploratory walks and possibly saw them with a food truck at a nearby park event. However, it was the fact that they sold lobster rolls, and frankly, the marketer in me loved the graphic logo! Would I be angry or happy with Archie for my first lobster roll experience in New Jersey!? PURCHASE Angry Lobster Roll ($22.00): A massive amount of Maine lobster meat mixed with a spicy corn mayo all stuffed into a toasted bun, this was sufficient to split with my friend. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and the buttery toasted bun was truly the icing on the cake. It was pricey, but dammit it was so good! I would love to try the heated version next! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=goUcQr5lYWSZGJbXYKHnzg Angry Crab Cake Sandwich ($17.00): A bulbous lump of crab meat mixed with spicy aioli, drizzled with citrus crema, while rested on a bed of crispy arugula, and placed between a buttery toasted bun, this was more crab-forward in flavor as the other elements didn't stand out as much. Possibly if they used the same mix from the lobster roll, the taste would be more enhanced? Again, the bread was outstanding; seriously, I'd buy the bread as a side! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=l-4TdG2hdYIq98cTDexPnA Full Portion Parmesan Truffle Fries ($9.00): A massive portion size of long thick spud sticks covered in parmesan cheese, fresh herbs, and truffle oil with a side of garlic truffle aioli for dipping, this was a blissful meal on its own! And, although we used the aioli, it really wasn't needed or seemed overkill at this point. We had leftovers which weren't as good, so eat it while it was fresh! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=uUhKPVY-0yYo0Uhavagcqg Double Cheese Mac N Cheese ($11.00): An absurd amount of tender pasta mixed with a four-cheese sauce, shaved parmesan, and herbed panko bread crumbs, this was one of the best mac n cheese dishes I've ever had! The cheese level was off-the-charts, and the panko was an ingenious idea. This was enough for two meals if you ate it on its own. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=idy1dMFN72rKV_12nlFuEg SERVICE I placed the takeaway order online, arrived about five minutes early, and soon after a friendly young man behind the counter came from the kitchen with everything wrapped up and ready to go - perfection! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) This was an easy flat 20-minute walk from my friend's place. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots along the main drag of Palisade Ave. and all surrounding roads - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A simple layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=y5tIh_oEthczcPn2oM6SRg with a central order/pick-up counter that looked into the kitchen, a very legible menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=uo0dcsKpxRtaaKCYUf1RkA behind the counter, a dining bar with stools along the front window, a handful of tables, a hint of nautical decorations, and generally a really clean place. Plenty of natural lighting came through the large front window and door while recessed electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=dI0QvZ2MaTIkFqGlAgh2iQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Angry Archie's was awesome, and I would definitely return to explore their menu even more! Hands down, the portion sizes were incredible, everything tasted amazing, the prices were very reasonable, and the service in our case was straightforward. And, I always loved supporting small businesses whenever possible. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $63.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... The warm sandwich on bread was topped with brown butter. As a side, I decided to go with its nephew to the seafood family. Never would I have ever guessed that crab meat topping blends perfectly with French fries! The taste was so superb I couldn't find a flaw even if I tried. The only minor downside was these two seafood dishes burned a hole in my wallet, but it was definitely worth the splash!

I tried the shrimp, crab, and cheese spring rolls from Rell's Kitchen--so good and a great size (I wish I got two!). The birria spring roll from Stop Drop N Roll was also top tier. The spinach and cheese roll was decent. I had to get some veggies in lol. To wash it all down, I got a strawberry colada from Aqua Frescas Juice... definitely tasted like diabetes in a cup. lol. Midnight Market was definitely a good vibes. I didn't see where they had roller skates but the miniature golf was fun.
