Quality is good portions were really small except for the soup for two. My sister barely eats but we were still kind of hungry after eating here Service was okay Prices were way too expensive for the amount of food that we got

Honey...they are not playing with coronavirus. They have a partition built that is keeping their employees safe from the customers that come in. You cannot dine in here currently. The tables and chairs are stacked up and pushed against the walls. You do need a mask because that is this business's policy. I have passed this place many times. I'm not sure why it took me until yesterday to finally stop by. I ordered Crab Rangoon and Lo Mein. I asked them to make my Lo Mein spicy and they definitely delivered on that! My food was pleasantly spicy. It was so good that I didn't add any sauce. That's a big deal. My entire family enjoyed all the food we ordered. My husband is very picky about Chinese food and he has stated that it's our new spot. After he said that, there was nothing I could give them but a 5 star rating.

While on the hunt for a good Chinese option in the area, I came across Mr. Chen's. With pretty good reviews, I decided to give them a try. I have been to Mr. Chen's on 3 occasions and have tried: Mongolian Beef, General Tso's Chicken, and Curry Chicken. Each dish was delicious. Mongolian Beef and General Tso's are a couple of go-to items for me. After those were a hit on my first two visits, I decided to try something different on the third. The Curry Chicken was delicious. It is marked as "spicy" but not very much spice but still a very flavorful dish. I would definitely order again. The egg rolls were really fresh and delicious as well. The first two visits were around 1 PM. The third visit was at 8:00 PM so close to closing time but still a fresh and delicious meal. The one thing I would caution is to carefully check your order before leaving. On the 2nd visit, there was no shrimp sauce in the bag which I did order. The 3rd visit I was missing an extra order of steamed rice. The food was so good I didn't want to dock a star. Also I checked the bag each time and didn't notice the missing items until I was home. SMH. So that part is also on me. Like I said, the taste of the food made up for the missing shrimp sauce and rice. Also, the portion of rice was more than enough so the extra rice was not needed. Mr. Chen's is now my go to Chinese place!

I would rate our visit as a 3.7. The food was good and so was the service. Good for a quick lunch or takeout.

This place has always been my favorite...Affordable huge portions, comforting old school tastes…read more But my pick up order was a waste of money this go around. My moo goo gai pan had barely any chicken in it. There were huge chunks of vegetables and it was way too starchy. It was like they were trying to compensate for the lack of protein in it. I haven't ordered from them this year, but I did tonight. Listen the economy is rough for everyone but I paid $15 for this chicken and they used maybe 1/8 of a chicken breast in it. Not cool. Hate to leave the negative review, but I need to warn people that they're using filler food to complete the orders and charging more. What's not cool anywhere these days is paying more and getting way less than just a few years ago. All of us are working hard to earn money and it just feels so disappointing to not get what you pay for, especially when you're paying more than you used to. I don't know who to blame for this. If I wanted a carton of vegetables I would have eaten a frozen bag for $2.50 tonight.

Your food is good but your service for the most part blows. Also a guy server said something rude to me and then when I asked him what he said he said jk. It was not felt rude it was rude when I asked him to tell me again what he said he wouldn't tell me. I heard excuses . Sorry just because you have been in business a long time does not mean I have to support rudeness or a place that doesn't care about my business. **Also if you would go down through the reviews there is a common theme your service is lacking and has been for many, many years. ** Responsibility should be taken and not excuses I will not be in a hurry to come b and my money spends elsewhere. Another excellent addition your list of Thai restaurants in Birmingham!…read more They've only been there for 6 years and I finally made it. Even though I didn't dine in, I appreciated the beautiful decor and the attention to detail. Gone from their early days during the pandemic when they were take out only to their newly renovated and larger dining area. There's nice bar with stools nearly centered in the restaurant. Employees are more friendly than you can imagine. Located on 280 near the Greystone entrance, YYST is on the right in a small quaint strip shopping area that's raised "above" 280. So if you're driving by you can see YYST by looking up. There's no outdoor seating, but plenty of tables and chairs inside with seating at the bar. They are quite proud of their Yelpies 2025 award for "Beloved Birmingham Business" which sits at the front entrance. Their menu is comprehensive with the right amount of dishes to satisfy. Every "Thai" place seems to have their own take on most dishes and YYST is no different. Their "recommended" entrees include Mango fish, Pad Thai Chakangrao, Massamun Short Rib, Pad Thai Wings and Panang New York Strip. Then they also have "Signature Plates" whose menu descriptions had my mouth watering. There's also stir fry, curries, salads, and even a lunch menu. Since I wasn't dining, I was going to do my litmus test and try their version they call Beef Drunken Uncle noodle. I also ordered their Fresh Basil Shrimp Rolls, and Bangkok market fried rice. I waited at the bar for about 10 minutes when my packaged meals arrived. I was offered a glass of cool water as I waited at the bar. The rolls were wrapped in saran wrap and I would guess were probably made a couple of days ago. Nothing wrong with that except I got unlucky and rice paper wrapper was almost crunchy. They were a little heavy on the use of lettuce, but each had 4 large fresh shrimp. The taste wasn't anything spectacular BUT their version of the dipping peanut sauce saved it. Yom Yom Yom! The fried rice was delicious. Tossed in a wok with eggs, onions, chinese broccoli and their house sauce, I had beef added as the protein and it was delicious. My Drunken noodle was very good! This traditional street food inspired dish is a classic. Wide noodles tossed with snap beans, garlic, onions, bell peppers with thai chili and basil, their version is quite good! It had great flavor and an excellent representation of the drunken noodle. Next time I might have to pay extra for a fried egg on top. Yom Yom Yom Yom! I'm glad I finally visited YYST. I am looking forward to returning and this time dining in. The Panang New York Strip and Mango Fish have my name on them!
