I've worked with Elder many times now. He previously was the lead for other contractors, and I'd hire their company just so I could work with him. I was waiting for him to start his own business so I could work with him directly, and i'm so happy he's finally done it. He's done large scale siding projects for me on apartment communities, he's rebuilt decks, he's fixed previous siding jobs from bad contractors. He just did a beautiful deck replacement at my personal residence. He's just as professional doing a small job as he is a big one. Once you have hired him for a job, I'm confident you won't bother looking for other contractors on your next job.

Several years ago, our gas dryer died, and we called Knapp. He brought us a nice used dryer that…read moreworked perfectly for a long time, until it finally stopped heating. We called Knapp again, and although he tried to fix it, he had to break the news that the dryer was beyond repair. He quickly arranged for another used dryer and, with his helper, wrestled it into place (no small feat in our old basement). Unfortunately, that one turned out to have an issue too. At that point, the laundry was piling up, and we even had a wedding coming up, so it was definitely stressful. But true to form, James came back with yet another dryer, hauled the faulty one away, and installed a beautiful used gas dryer that has been working like a dream. Through all the hiccups, he and his assistant stuck with it until the problem was solved, and we couldn't be happier. Best of all, the cost was very reasonable. I'm certain any other company would have charged more and been far less persistent about getting the dryer into the small, tricky space we have. If I could give Knapp 10 stars, I would.
