Staff was super friendly they were the best. Got our food pretty quickly, cheese cubes were ok, onion rings were good, crunchy on the outside and cooked well on the inside. Burger was cooked well but seriously lacking in flavor,if it was seasoned, it would have been a good burger. We also got a Malt shake, I enjoyed it, husband said it needed more malt flavoring. This side of road mom and pop drive-in place is awesome. Today we had the ice cream and it was some great soft-serve ice cream. My shake was rich, thick and had a good flavor. What a cool stop in the country, perfect roadside stop on our trip down to Buffalo, Mo. Cool place with indoor and outdoor seating. Pretty typical Midwest burger stop. People who are from the Springfield MO area could compare their burgers to Vaughn's.. Nothing spectacular or amazing about the burger. The curly fries were soggy and not very seasoned, didn't try the shakes or ice cream, but just looked like soft serve. I'm sure it serves its purpose for the area, but you won't be driving more that a few miles out of your way for it. read more

An Urbana, MO staple for decades! I've gone to Mr. Ed's since I was a kid and it's still as fantastic now as it was then. You can't beat their ice cream, whether you go for a giant chocolate cone or a malt, it's all delicious. Regular food is good too, the Suzy Q's are a greasy, delicious mess!! Always super friendly staff. Be prepared to stand in line during the summer though, this place is no secret and it's the perfect stop on your way home from the lake. read more

I was passing through the area and stopped because my diabetic mother needed to eat. She ordered a cheeseburger with everything on it plus mayo. They charged me a quarter for the mayo to put it on the side. When we got the food, we did not get a utensil to spread the mayo and the burger was missing tomato and lettuce. I asked for it to be added and they said no. I said I could pay extra like I did for the mayo but they refused to sell it to me. I was very unimpressed with the service and very confused why I couldn't get the veggies to go on the burgers. 0/10 would recommend. read more

I've been coming to Mr. Eds since I was a little boy and they only offered walk up service back then. While Highway 65 has been widened and changed, Mr. Eds still offers twist cones, soft serve ice cream, and the same great shakes they have for years. Yes they still have pineapple and even butterscotch shakes! If you like curly fries they've got you covered. Have a seat in the small air conditioned seating area and try one of their burgers...juicy, flavorful, and made to order. 5 generations of my family have ate here, soon to be 6. Stopped here on our way home from Branson and found this jewel just outside Urbana. It is an old-style diner with seating inside or pick-up window outside. It stands in front of a corn field and across from a cattle farm. The food was classic burgers and hot dogs with the best curly fries I have ever eaten (sorry Arby's). The portions were ample and the prices affordable. Best of all, there were ice cream sundaes, malts, or shakes for dessert! I got a foot-long Coney dog with all the fixings and curly fries for lunch followed by a butter pecan sundae. Delicious! The employees were helpful and friendly. We had a great lunch on the road and plan to stop here every time we come through Urbana!! read more

Super excited to be going by Mr Ed's. This place is a treasure! Best black raspberry shake and sundae. Burgers are tasty and onion rings are by far my favorite in onion ring status! I use to love the steak burgers but a few years ago they changed. They have a very tasty grilled chicken, which is now my favorite, I do add cheese. Mmmmmm... Although I do not order myself fries it is a must to steal some from the husband's order of curly fries or "Suzy q's " if I recollect!? They are fantastic! I have eaten just about everything on their menu, food wise, in the last decade and only the steak burger disappointed me. it was amazing! Maybe my taste have changed but I have tried it twice and only made through a 1/4 before I gave up. It's just not the same.
