In town for an event with my Model T Ford, and ice cream is a must when driving antique cars. What a great place you have here in town, a throwback to earlier times here. Ice cream hand scooped into glass containers by a friendly staff. Unique seating in a spacious dining room. Bring your appetite or share with someone because the servings are generous. I plan on stopping every time I get close by.

A step back in time in the heart of town. I've been passing through Rolla quite frequently the past few months. I stopped in next door for dinner. This space caught my eye as I walked over and made sure I saved room for dessert. This is a traditional old fashioned soda shoppe. The space is fitting with old fashioned decor. There is plenty of seating to enjoy yourself treats. There were several items that I haven't seen on a menu in a long time. While there were plenty of sundaes, shakes, malts, etc on the menu I decided on a scoop of ice cream. The flavor I went with was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The team works quickly and professionally to serve their guests. I'll be in town again soon and plan to enjoy another visit soon.

Very adorable, old-school ice cream shop right on the corner of the block in downtown Rolla. They do these beautiful sundaes in tall crystal glasses and also stock some more unique flavors for the adventurous eaters i.e. Exhausted Parent. I simply tried scoops of Old School Vanilla and Lemon Poppyseed. Both were absolutely delicious: creamy, smooth, and luscious. The Lemon Poppyseed in particular was outstanding, perfectly tart to balance out the sweetness and it's a flavor I haven't seen anywhere else. A single scoop here will drop you about $3.50 and the staff don't skimp; the scoops are massive!! Overall, I love this location. The storefront is charming, the ice cream is scrumptious, and the service is incredibly generous. The only reason I'm knocking off a star is due to the lack of face masks, especially by those handling food. While I understand that it's extremely common to opt not to mask up in this area, the county is also currently at high risk with huge spikes in numbers due to delta and it did make me a tad uncomfortable.

First time at soda and scoops, and it was a great experience. With the scorching heat outside, going in for a nice treat makes it more bearable. The staff allowed me to try lots of flavors and they also recommended their favorites to me as well. I had the shit just got real and the cake batter fudge in a waffle cone. They don't skim on their portions, I was struggling to finish it. It was rich in flavor and creamy. The staff recommended the kitty kitty bang bang, ultimate oreo and zanzibar chocolate.

BEST ice cream in town. Absolutely LOVE the shop. Cute little bicycle seats for the children and old time pop and candy. What's not to love!

Cute little place. Glad I came after a large group just left so I almost had the place to myself. Friendly staffs. I got the Bette Davis. It's so good. I didn't bother to get any drinks because the ice cream I got was so huge. It's sharable but why should you...lol

What a cute ice cream shop! The decor is old school and there are plenty of places to sit and eat your ice cream. Everything looks delicious! I have the Bette Davis minus the raspberry sauce. I definitely recommend sharing with your significant other!

Soda and Scoops is awesome!!! I've gone here numerous times and find it more and more appealing. In the 4th of July my best friend and his girlfriend were in town and they were craving banana splits. The best thing was they were open. The banana splits were huge and delicious. If you want the experience of an old time soda shop this is the place to experience it!!!! I love the staff and the decor is very quaint and spot on. I can't wait for my next visit!!!!

Nostalgia hits you harder in this place than the awesomeness of their ice cream! It's a throwback and a true piece of Americana along Route 66. All of the ice cream combinations that I saw were based on 50s/60s actors and movies. The ice cream was excellent and my Green River was too. Great stuff!!

    Couple of fun flavors.

I had eaten there with my daughter, about ten years ago, which is WAY too long. I used to buy their 'Take and Bake' Pies at Harter House, but my local store no longer carries them. They've always been good. Why did it take me so long to come back? I'm usually traveling with my husband and he prefers BBQ or a burger when we're traveling. I'm glad I mentioned it Saturday, when we were looking for a place to eat lunch! We all loved it so much that we ate there again the next day, on our way home. Between us, we tried both kinds of Chicken Pot Pie (Traditional and Mushroom), the Chicken Salad on Croissant, the Tomato Soup, and the Bacon Quiche. Each entree was served with two hot rolls. I didn't have room for the rolls, but those who did said they were good. Dessert? You may have to take it with you, but they're packaged well. The quiche reheats well in the microwave. Those who tried it said it was the best quiche ever, and ordered it again the second day, so I took a piece home to try. I haven't tried my Cherry Raspberry yet, but the others said the Coconut Cream (whipped cream) and Custard were wonderful. I did try one of his cinnamon/sugar pie crust cookies. They tasted just like my mama used to make. He said he's planning to sell those at the Harter House Stores in the Springfield area, so I'll be looking for them. He's also bringing a truck to Harter House in Springfield on Eastgate, occasionally, so I'll be watching their Facebook Page so I can buy a piece of pie without going to Rolla. Good pie crust makes a pie, and luckily, you can find them in the freezer case at Harter House and Price Cutter Stores. Look for "Mickey's Pie Crust", ready to put in the oven and bake.

Since I met them in the store , we chatted while be bought our groceries. When it came to getting checked out, Kathy was staring at me again. They went for self check out while I went for the billing counter and she threw a fit to the fact that I was buying alcohol and had my ID but that my friends who I met at the store should show their ID as well because I came to buy myself alcohol. All the other employees were fine but she created a big scene with all the other customers staring at us like we did something wrong and my friends were apologizing to me for talking to me in the store and being around me while we chatted and talked. I told her we dont live together , and we were going to our separate homes but she was just loud and rude and I must say, it seemed she was pissed at me which was usual by the way she stares at me all the time, but her making humiliating me and my friends in public was just disgusting and I think I am done with shopping at kroger. Might just shop at Walmart instead.

She became more engaged when, I believe, she saw we were not having the best experience so I give 4/5 stars for noticing but also because she was more attentive and gave me an extra plate quickly when I asked bc of the steak swimming in clarified butter that was supposed to be in a separate dish for the lobster instead of floating around the plate. Ribeye was actually really thin. You can see in the pics, about the same size as a thin ribeye from a recent grocery purchase I made. It was actually cooked well - for the size I would have expected overdone. Biggest issue is when I cut a piece and started to chew I had the shockwave from teeth on bone. A little chunk of bone was still in the ribeye. Pic included. I told her after we paid so she could warm the kitchen staff. Ribs - fine. Lobster - rubber. Could have thrown it across the room and it would have bounced at least twice. See pics. Also, the butter issue. Sides - side salad was crisp and the cucumber was fresh. Mash was interesting, and that could be because it's processed potato, a gluey issue from over-mixing, or that it was also taking a swim in the spilled butter. Fries were very tasty. Mac was okay. Overall spend with drinks was $109 with a 20% tip. I would not say it was worth it. We basically ate the salad and bread and called it a day.
