WARNING TO ALL CUSTOMERS TLDR: DO NOT believe the initial quote provided by this shop before their diagnosis and DO NOT let the staff intimidate you into paying more than what was initially agreed. LOOK ELSEWHERE or be prepared to DOCUMENT YOUR INTERACTIONS for a more truthful and respectful experience. The following is a summary of our experience to help ensure this does not happen to future customers. Context: An initial quote range of $180-300 for a MacBook screen repair was recieved from staff member Jacob, along with assurances that it would cost no more than that range. An $89 diagnostic fee was charged (they did not inform that this fee was nonrefundable, only that it would go toward the repair cost should the service be accepted) Days later a follow up phone call was made to the shop to confirm the final quote. A new and increased quote of $400 was provided by "Mo", the woman who answered the phone. When asked if a refund of the diagnostic fee could be arranged, Mo stated that the fee was nonrefundable, and did not seem to care when informed that we were never made aware that the fee was nonrefundable. She simply said "sorry". After stating the details of the intial visit to the shop, including the previously agreed upon quote range which was much less than the new quote, a staff member that goes by "Zombie" took over the phone call to emphasize that Jacob "tells everyone the diagnostic fee is non refundable" but an email address can be contacted for disputes. It's worth noting that Zombie's tone on the call was not polite and he seemed annoyed about the interaction. Zombie also stated that they would "check the security cameras to see if Jacob failed to mention the fee was non refundable", and text a man by the name of "Dennys" about the situation. It was not until after an email was sent regarding the refund, and a second phone call was made to the shop (answered by Zombie) to confirm the names of the staff members from the first phone call, that a refund was offered. At this point, Zombie's tone had completely changed to what it should have been from the beginning, empathetic and polite. To his credit, he even apologized. The favorable outcome of this interaction does not negate the negative experience endured, or change the fact that the actions of the staff were unacceptable. Unacceptable actions: - Inaccurate initial quote - Failure to inform that the diagnostic fee was nonrefundable - Failure to honor initial quote range - Rude demeanor of staff when concerns were voiced by customer While the value of $89 varies person to person, how a business treats its customers is what truly matters. Ultimately, what could have been a very positive customer experience was soured by the acts of the staff members regarding our concerns. As someone who has worked in customer service for 15 years at various management levels, here is a script for your staff that may prove helpful, as it seems the current staff has not been adequately trained, or simply fails to execute the training recieved: For customer concerns/disputes regarding conversations that happened in the shop that may need to be verified through camera footage: Staff member: "I understand your concern and I thank you for bringing this to our attention. Let's see how we can resolve this for you. Can you please share the details of the conversation?" (Once details are recieved): "Great, thank you for providing those details. Before a determination can be made, we will review what information we can on our end and get back to you regarding a resolution. What is the best way to reach you?" With the correct tone and attitude, the above script can go a long way in preventing my experience from happening to others. Cheers read more

WARNING iPhone people. BUYER BEWARE. I came in on Saturday morning to replace my battery on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. when I got my phone back my facial recognition stopped working. I returned back to the store on Sunday. they took all day to finally call me back to tell me they couldn't fix it. I wasn't able to pick my phone back up until Monday afternoon. I still had concerns about my phone not working properly after I had just come in to replace the battery. they were very dismissive of my concern and blamed the problem in the software being corrupted. how can that happen when they had my phone all weekend and it was working fine before they "fixed" my phone. read more

Screen went out again..So I came back to them..The severice was bad. The part where the batteries fit had corroded, came apart and essentially did not work. This was a gift from my mother, who I lost a few years ago, and so it was important to me that I find someone to repair it. Took my 9 year olds tablet in to be fixed 3 weeks before Christmas and was told the part I needed had to be ordered and it needed soldered. I called Monday before Christmas and was told it was at another store and would be in the store that day, they said I would get a call but never did. Today was the second time that I've gone into Mr. Fix It about my PC laptop. Previously, they had wiped my OS and reinstalled it. This time, I basically asked them to look at it and suggest any upgrades or suggestions for dealing with a HUGE slowdown on my computer. They (Ben and Bryan) talked to me for about 20 mins troubleshooting what I use the computer for and where the hangup might be. They suggested three things -- going to Best Buy and buying an adapter and a different ethernet cable and to change settings on the hardware I use for work at home. They seriously solved the issue and my computer is running so much better. They didn't make any money off of me, but their help was a huge value! read more

On 31 October 2019, i entered Mr Fix in Peninsula town Center to request a screen replacement for my Galaxy S7 Edge. The clerk took my deposit and ordered a replacement screen, telling me it would be in the following week. The replacement screen arrived November 6th, and on 7 November i dropped my phone off to have the screen replacement as requested. Mr Fix replaced my screen with the new one, only to discover that i was no longer able to connect to my Cellular provider. As I need my phone for work, having a non-working phone was unacceptable for me. He informed me he would order another screen and put my phone back the way it was until the new screen arrived. He replaced my old cracked screen and told me he would call when the new screen arrived. The following day, i realized that Mr. Fix did NOT put my phone back in working order, and i was unable to make or receive calls or texts using either my Cellular service or Wifi Calling for two days. Several calls to Mr Fix went unanswered (using a different number), so I returned on Saturday, 9 November to receive the final repair. Despite repeated attempts, Mr Fix was unable to restore my phone to the condition it was in when it was given to Mr. Fix, and their only resolution was to refund the deposit I made for the screen. I now find myself with a non-functioning phone, a necessity for my job. I have contacted the local branch, the corporate office, and a Better Business Bureau complaint has been submitted. read more
