My father passed. I had his laptop and it has a bit locker security that I couldn't find the papers to, I was not able to get into the laptop. I dropped it off, paid a $40.00 deposit. I told him exactly what the issue was, to bypass the bit locker. He didn't need to diagnose it. I was told the repairs would take a week. One week passes, I get no call or update. I called and was told that it was a lot of work and he needs another week. Another week passes, I hear absolutely nothing, no follow-up call from the company. I called 2x more and was THEN told that they are really busy and backed up and needed another week. Another week....is all I could get from him as an update. Its been 1 month and a full week and he still never fixed it, nor did he ever call me to provide an update. I finally had had it and went to pick up my laptop and not use his business. He had taken some time to even locate my laptop when we asked for it back. I should have been more aware when I came there, as the store is literally stuffed from front door to the back and ceiling with electronics, in disarray and barely any space to walk in there. I should have been told at drop off how backed up they were, that it would take a while to even get to my laptop from the start. Had I known that, I never would have left it there to begin with. They also refused to give my $40.00 deposit back. Im guessing they need it more than I do. I do not, recommend this business at all. Great repair and customer service! I took my tablet in because nothing would show on the screen after I dropped it. The front and back separated as the tablet hit the floor. The only way I could tell it was working was that the scheduled alarms were sounding as usual. I'm glad I went, I prefer to keep my electronic devices as long as possible. This business is a gem when you're looking for a dying breed of experts who can fix anything electronic like motherboards, relays, etc. Even I learned a thing or two and all I did was to find someone who can fix a fuse box gif my infrared sauna. Quite a trek from VA Beach but so worth it. Adam is knowledgeable, polite, professional. He is patient in explaining what they can do to fix, even keeping you posted every step of the way if they have to test the unit and even will call to ask if you authorize order of parts from China and approximate timeframe to receive the parts! I would give this place negative stars if I could. Honestly, the guy who took my laptop was lying, lazy, and trying to scam me. Avoid this place like the plague. Unfortunately, while replacing the NVMe drive in my laptop, I accidentally broke the connector for the touchscreen's digitizer ribbon cable on the motherboard. Totally my fault. Now, I have worked in IT professionally for 30 years. I also collect and repair vintage computers. I know exactly how to do this repair, as well how much time it would take to do the repair. I looked for the connector myself on Mauser and Digikey, but couldnt find it. I didnt mention any of this to the man at Electronics Overhaul, as it wasnt necessary. Now that I think about it, had I mentioned anything, he might not have tried to scam me... Since I couldnt find the connector, I decided to bite the bullet and take it to a professional electronics repair shop. They do this for a living and hopefully could find the connector. Not to mention, do it faster than I could. While this place only has 12 reviews on Yelp, they were all were 5 stars except for one (which was a 3). With so many good reviews, it seemed like a decent place. So I brought it there. Unfortunately, now that I looking back at those reviews, the most recent is a year and a half old and was the 3 star review. Sigh. Thats on me... I drove there and a very disinterested man told me it would be $40 just to look at it. Fine. What was strange is when he ran my card he seemed surprised that the $40 went through. I said I do have money... A connector should be no more than a few dollars and it should have easily taken less than an hour to do the repair. The $40 should have covered the work, but even if he charged me $20 more, I would accept that is the price for my blunder. When I showed him what was wrong, he did say that is an usual connector. Yeah, I know, I couldnt find it, but again didnt mention that I know anything about IT or electronics repair. Now, getting this man to say anything was a chore. I had to ask him everything to get any information, like when will I hear back from him. He said a week. I asked so I will hear from you by 5 Friday and he said yes. Friday rolls around and nothing. So I call him after im done with work, well after 5PM and he says - and I quote - "Im having a hard time finding the connector." This implies he cannot repair it. Thats all he said. So, I asked again, can it be repaired. He then said - and again the exact quote - "I can repair it for $350." When he said $350 I knew he was lying, lazy, and trying to scam me. He very well may have looked for the connector and not found it. However, I wouldnt bet money that he did anything... So what do you do in this situation if you cant find the connector? You go on eBay to find a replacement motherboard to pull the connector from. Had he literally done one search on eBay, he would have seen you could find no motherboards, but several listings for the identical laptop, used for $85. Clearly, he didnt do any research at all. But if he had, any respectable business owner and/or a person common sense would say that since the connector or donor boards cant be found at a reasonable price, you would be better off buying the identical laptop used for $85. However, this man said he would fix it for $350! I literally could buy 4 of these laptops for that price. Of course I said no. He then asked if I wanted to send it off as e-waste. This tells me he didnt even turn the laptop on, as other than the touchscreen not working, it is a perfectly functional laptop. I picked it up later and I asked him how the hell he came up with $350. He said he values his time and it would require "microsoldering". Yes, time has value, but yours isnt worth $350 an hour. Like I said, if I had the connector, I could have done this in far less than an hour and I dont even do this for a living. When I told him that you can get these for $85 why would he charge me $350, he knew he got caught. He just stopped talking at that point. So I took my laptop and left. Total scam. read more

My husbands phone got into saltwater when he was putting the boat on the trailer so we took the phone to Electronics Overhaul left it there Sunday he said it might be ready today. So on Monday I called late in the afternoon he said he would call was looking at it. So we pick it up Tuesday and it still does not work so we took it back he said it was ok but it still didnt work charged us $40 to look at it and told me on the phone it would be another $85 when we went to pick it up it was $95. We get home it still didnt work so I,m out $135 and still not working!!! I would not recommend going to this place it is a joke!!! read more

I just picked up my 16" MacBook Pro, which I had stupidly dropped, leaving a dent on the side and a non functioning screen. I dropped off my Mac and paid about $450 for the repair. I was fully expecting a new screen, but to have a dent remain, as these cases are not plastic. I picked up my computer tonight and I was amazed! It looks like a brand new computer. Not only did the screen get replaced, but a new top was installed. I don't know how they got the dent out of the side, but I see no evidence that it had ever been dropped on concrete! It takes a lot for me to write a review, but in this case it is deserved. My MacBook Pro got water in it and would no longer turn on or charge. I called Apple Customer Service and was told the computer can not be fixed and everything is lost with no way of retrieving it. I was devastated. I called Adam and he said bring it in and he will look at it. Less than 24hrs later, he called and said he fixed it and upgraded the software as well. As a Medical Researcher, to be told everything is lost was hard to swallow. I can not thank Adam enough for what he did at a very reasonable price. I'm a retro gamer and collect lots of rare older game systems and games. After much searching I came across this electronic shop and was pleasantly surprised to see they work on things that other shops refuse to. I called the store and was greeted over-the-phone kindly by the store owner when calling and was reassured quickly that my overheating fat Playstation 3 could be fixed. After talking with the owner about options and what I plan to do, the owner was very communicative in explaining all processes, diagnostic fees and any additional cost for parts and other items I may need. In addition to how busy they were and the estimated time it would take to diagnose and repair. My PlayStation 3 was brought in for an overheating issue. Just under two weeks later it was repaired and I was able to pick it up... it worked fine when I got home, however the Blu-ray drive started to malfunction, which it didn't when I previously brought it in. So I called the store and they reassured me that everything will be okay and to bring it in and they will promptly get it fixed. For whatever reason my Blu-ray drive malfunctioned on my PS3, however they quickly resolve the issue and called me a day later after the repair was complete on the drive. I drove over and picked up my system and since then I have been playing it for about a week now and everything seems to be in excellent working order. It is running nice and cool and with no disc drive errors when loading games or Blu-Rays whatsoever. I'm thoroughly impressed from top to bottom with this business! Also the owner may not talk much or seem very personable at first so don't be discouraged if this is the case. After all, you're not at his business to make friends lol. And with that in mind, when talking with the owner or any of their other fine and highly-skilled tec's, trust and realize that they know what they're doing and that they know what they're talking about... so you can rest assured that you're in good hands.
