I was looking for a boat center to find and fix a water leak on my Tracker. I've used Bass Pro before and had a very bad experience. I ran across Mr. Le and remembered he helped me 20 years ago on my Bayliner Capri Force engine. My previous experience with Mr. Le gave me confidence that he knew what he was doing. Dropped my Tracker off on Sat morning and he had it complete by 4pm. He explained what he did and showed me a video of the leak before the fix. The competitor didn't have the part, he did, so I went to him and i said how much when I handed him my credit card , he said 73.36, great I said, I get on my credit card bill $733.36. , when I look at my credit card statement a month later, he said it was an OEM part, I investigated it and it was a part he ordered from Amazon for $50 through it in a white no label box and then said it was an OEM up charge $700, he's just a fast talking con man, read more

It is hard to find marine rep[air as I know of at least 3 shops that have closed in the last year. My repair was a spinner, and seal replacement, but after talking to Mr Le I decided to do ALL seals and Water Pump and spinner. When I came by mid repair, he showed me why I had a Greenish Oil leak, and it was due to prior mechanic (Out of Business) did not replace all the seals in the seal kit that was supposed to be done, and the bolts were not perfectly tight. He applied both kits, greased the stern drive controls, live running engine water tested, showed me working forward and reverse gears and all is great again. Of special note, he removed the stern drive completely which gives him greater access to the unit but takes a little more labor. While I was there I asked him to fix trailer backup light, and front trailer rubber mount being too low, and grease the trailer wheel bearings, top off brake fluid, etc. He did this in a single day and I had the boat back at 6:30 PM on a Saturday!! I recommend Me Le. One small Note: there is a yelp referenced website that takes you to a page with another phone number on it. That page is old, and they don't know how to edit the page for the phone number as a customer did it for them and they can't edit or remove it. I used Voyager Marine for many years when Gene was the owner, I was always satisfied with the work done. I thought I would give Mr Le a relatively small job to do even though I had a co-worker that had a bad experience with Mr Le. First thing I noticed about Voyager Marine these days is the place looks more like a junkyard than a boatyard, Voyager always looked like a professional shop when Gene ran things. When I picked up my boat the repair cost was twice what we had agreed upon and I had to re-do some of the work because of the miss adjusted settings and fasteners that were missing washers that should have been in place. Live and learn, I had a terrible experience and won't be back. If you have work done here I wish you luck. read more

Mr Le is some character, the nicest guy you would ever want to meet. It's been a long time finding a good boat technician who is knowledgeable and honest. I brought my classic 1959 Redfish boat in to have the three one barrel carbs fixed on my 1963 100hp Merc. Mr. Le was very concerned about my safety and his reputation. Since the old two stroke Merc had corroded wires and a leaky head, he convinced me the way to go is with a new motor or newer used motor. He sold me a four stroke 60hp Merc for a very reasonable price which included his labor. I'm glad I found a good, reliable, reasonable and honest mechanic I can trust. Mr Le has always been able to fix everything I ever brought to him. Great prices, and good communication . Always says it like it is.

Brought my boat to Mr Le after my engine stopped turning over. His diagnosis was that I needed to have the top end rebuilt and the cost was going to be around $3K. Before agreeing, I asked if I would be better off just buying a new motor, rather than having him rebuild the existing motor. He advised me that it's better to just rebuild the top end so I agreed and hired him to fix it. After the rebuild was complete I picked it up and took it out to Anderson Reservoir the following weekend. Put it in the water and drove it for about 2 hours and then the motor stopped running again! Brought it back to Mr. Le and his diagnosis was that that motor threw a rod which damaged my block and that it was not his fault since I had hired him to rebuild the top end and now the damage was on the bottom end. He said I must have been jumping the boat for this to happen.. (not sure how I could be doing jumps at Anderson??) He then suggested I buy a new motor or pay him another $3K to fix the bottom end which I did not agree with. He then threatened to keep my boat and do a title lien if I didn't take it with me that day. My advice is to stay away from this shop at all cost. Mr Le helped us find a working motor for our Sea Scout Boston Whaler and he worked with us to get it installed on our boat. I can't say enough good things about Mr. Le. He took the time to talk with us about what we wanted, the age of the existing boat and motor, asked us how we plan to use it, etc, then he offered a couple of different options, from new motor to repair of existing motor or swap with a used motor. Mr. Le is a very nice and honest professional. Like others have mentioned, he will help you to make your own repairs and do your own maintenance. He thoroughly explains what he feels is the problem and provides evidence to validate his claims. His prices are fair and he finishes his projects in a acceptable amount of time. He is open long hours (and is typically working 7 days a week), which is good if you have an unpredictable work schedule or work long hours yourself.
