This location is engaging in predatory upselling to vulnerable individuals. My daughter brought her car in after 2000 kilometers service. The manager, a Mr. Harsh Singh insisted that not only did she need an oil change, he upsold her on a "fuel system flush," which consisted of them dumping a bottle of fuel conditioner in her tank and charging her 79 dollars for an item that I can purchase at my local auto supply store for no more than 10-20 dollars. This fine gentleman told her that the 79 dollars was half price. This vehicle has 34000 kilometers on the clock. Avoid this location and probably the company at all costs. They also refused to give my daughter a detailed invoice in an attempt to cover up their dishonest business practices. read more

Today we took our vehicle in for an oil change. We have 6 vehicles in our household that we have been taking there for 5 years... We have noticed in the last couple of years that they are getting progressively slower getting cars in and out. I was just there last week getting my car done and it was an hour before we rolled in and there was only one car in the bay and one ahead when we arrived. Today, I waited 1.5 hour and watched 2 vehicles arrive after me and get serviced before me and leave. I got out and tried to talk to the guy who was moving the vehicles and all he could say was a disingenuous "sorry". They have no regard for their customer's time and we will not be back with any of our vehicles. Completely ridiculous. read more

Absolutely amazing experience, their crew (Russ and Tommy specifically) not only got my tires changed but also let me know any issues wrong with my car tires so I can properly attend to it's needs! Not impressed, In Vancouver I always had excellent service. Went two days ago for my first time in Kelowna. Mr. Lube wanted me to spend and extra $250 for transmission flushing. I've had several services completed at 1850 Underhill St. location, in Kelowna. Always a positive experience. Today, I experienced a problem with my vehicle and attended the location. What I thought could've been a major problem, was quickly diagnosed by Jordi. His professional expertise, in explaining to me what the problem was and the fixing of my vehicle, was great. He made suggestions about future maintenance in order to maintain a smooth running vehicle. Had the craziest day, and Mr. Lube saved it! Well, Rachel the Assistant Manager saved the day. Not only did my Windshield Sprayer break, my mirror broke, and my battery died all within an hour, Rachel was able to source the parts and fix my car. She could tell I was stressed out and her kind words and hard work made my day less stressful. I will be telling all of my friends and family to go there and I will be coming back for sure. After 15 years at the competition, I decided to change due to a very poor experience. I stopped in at the Underhill location at Skogis where Graham looked after my car. These guys were fantastic! I had to wait very little time and then they got me in. They found the problem with my tire and fixed it quickly and washed my very dirty windows at the same time. I went to Mr. Lube to get the oil changed in my 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, I pull in and start giving them my info and told them I need a special kind of oil to avoid voiding warranty. He re-assured me that they will do that. They start draining the oil and he comes back to tell me they don't have the oil on the shelf, that they would have to bring it in at a charge of $60. I couldn't leave as my oil was already getting drained. A big box of oil arrives, clearly way more than what my vehicle would take and they finished the oil change and charged me $237.42. Hyundai only charges $120 and they clean the inside of my vehicle, the only reason why I went to Mr. Lube is that I would have run out of km's by the time my appointment came around and didn't want to void my warranty. I know a specialty oil costs more but to charge me $60 to bring an oil in that should have been on their shelves because they are in the oil changing business and then to have other people benefit from my cost. I feel like because I am a woman I was taken advantage of and I'm no idiot about not knowing vehicles, I live on a ranch where I am involved in changing oil in all kinds of vehicles and equipment. What angers me is that he told me after draining the oil and the high cost to get in from a local outfit that had it on the shelf. They need to have better communication to their customers if things are going to take longer than originally stated. People come to places like this so they can be in and out quickly. I've been to Mr Lube multiple times and they've always been super friendly and efficient... but today they took the cake. I had my dog with me, who tends to get very scared with new places and people, which causes her to bark (she's all bark and no bite) The staff not only gave her cookies to calm her down, nearly all of them came over to say hi to her. They never got frustrated or annoyed when she barked .. they even altered the way they approached the truck so as not to alarm her. All in all, they definitely went above and beyond what they had to by not only catering to me, but my dog too. Couldn't be happier !! read more

A bunch of con men. I went in for a simple oil change. At least that's what I thought.... oil change process starts without an issue. While I am waiting in my car the technician not only changes my oil but removes two of my spark plugs letting dirt fall into the cylinders. "Checks" my coolant and tells me it's at least 5 years old and needs to be changed. Little to his knowledge it was changed not 6 months before at a different shop that my vehicle usually gets serviced at. He proceeds to tell me that my spark plugs are terrible and need replaced, 30,000km before expected. Oh and they were also changed not long before! The technician was an arrogant and high tempered man looking to get his commission for the day. Thank you for the lovely experience JOHN. What a joke. When I called the manager to have a discussion about the tech he attempted to belittle me and loved to rattle off random facts about nothing that was relevant with the situation to I assume make himself seems like a "big man". But I believe the big man is the one who treats his customers with respect and decency. read more

I pulled my car into their bay as I didnt see any signs outside as to how much they charge all the other ones I drove by were charging $39.99 but I thought I would see how much they charge so in I go, I was helped by a young lady that really didn't have any knowledge about what she was doing, she asked me what service I wanted and I said a oil change and she told me that she had to get some info first I said ok, she asked me to pop my hood to look at the engine so I complied, she then asked me to scan my vin and I was a little bit Leary as to why, but I said ok. She went back to her computer and I thought she was looking up what it would be to do my car, she asked me that since I had the keys if she could get me to see how Kms on my vehicle I said ok, I gave her the kms and she asked for my keys and I said no, all of a sudden a guy came over Demanded my keys from me which I refused as I hadn't consented to anything being done on my car...he then told the girl helping me to stop in the computer So he yelled at me again and said " WE WILL SEE ABOUT THIS" I said we sure will and he came back from going upstairs to see his boss and said if you put them on the dash we can help you, I complied and then the girl helping me walked away. Another girl came by and said your air filter was good that was when I replied I didn't want you to touch my car without my knowledge ,she turned and put the air filter back on my car. The first girl came back Andy said it's $61.and change ..I told her that I wasn't paying that as i didn't consent to them doing anything, that girl walked away and a guy came over to my car and asked me why, I said that She hadn't told me what the charge would be and that the other places are $39.99,he then told me that she said she had told me what I would be charged before hand "I replied with no sir she didn't as I would have drove out. He (manager) told me well we will see as we have cameras everywhere, he went upstairs to look at the cameras, so I waited in my car, this big guy comes down the stairs and he comes over to me talking in a very loud voice and said you are paying this bill, I replied with no I am not ,!!!!!!!! Best customer service experience here today. We were pressed for time because we had to get back to Vancouver. We realized our oil was low and the type of oil required was not easy to find. Our dealership was closed and 3 of the auto supply didn't carry it either. I went to Mr Lube where a woman named Rachel (hope I'm spelling that right) informed me that they didn't carry the type we needed either. She rechecked my oil to see if it was safe enough to get back to Vancouver and upon doing so did not recommend we travel with it that low. She suggested I just wait for a few minutes while she did some calling around for me. After 5 minutes Rachel reappeared with a bottle of the oil we needed to get back home. She made a few calls and found out that they had one bottle tucked at the back of one of the shelves. She topped things up for me and sent me on my way. I now refer to her as our Oil Fairy because without her above and beyond customer service it would have been a very nerve wrecking trip home. I had an oil change done here on my 2011 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5L the morning before I was supposed to leave for Vancouver. I had them check all my fluids and paid for my filters to be changed ect and it was over 200$ all together. Last minute we decided to take our other vehicle and parked mine in the parkade. When we got back from Vancouver oil had leaked all over the parkade and made a huge mess. Not to mention not being able to drive. I immediately called Mr lube and they told me the owner wouldn't be able to come in until noon and weren't urgent or helpful at all. They dilly dallied all morning and finally came to the parkade at 11am after I told them I had to be at work by 1pm. They came to fix it. No one apologized for the screw up or reassured me it would be taken care of. They acted as if it were my fault and they were going out of their way to help ME when the vehicle hadn't been driven all weekend so it's pretty obvious someone bumped something. Turns out it was transmission oil and they filled up the reservoir without even clarifying with me that that was ok. I was an hour late for work and had to go back the next day for them to clean the oil out of the bottom of my car. After all of this they give me a GIFT CARD for the cost of only the oil change - not even the full amount- which forces me to come back. After all of that I will never be going back. I would never recommend this place to even my worst enemy they were completely tardy in getting it fixed for me and the problem took two full mornings of my time. Considering it was something so simple as an oil change it ended up being a huge stress and I really wasn't taken care of as I should have been. Customer service is terrible and I've tried calling multiple times to get a refund and get sent straight to voicemail. read more

Mr Lube used an oil filter made by Champion on my VW Jetta GLI. Problem was the filter collapsed inward on itself. This was brought to my attention when oil filter was removed by myself. VW dealership was shown collapsed filter, and they have seen this happen before from the use of non OEM filters. Mr Lube refused to refund purchase price of filter when presented the filter. They insisted that the filter be sent back and analyzed before refunding a filter with a cost of less than $20. This would mean that they really do not stand behind their products or service even when the problem is right in front of them. I will no longer have my vehicles or company vehicles serviced by Mr Lube again. read more
