This wasn't over the top - some light sticks and a bunch of uplights, but they were tastefully synced and programmed. And the music - he was pulling out all the stops even during dinner, dropping throwbacks and getting people singing in between bites across all age ranges. It's not like he peaked early either, he kept it going strong the entire night. Did I mention his contagious smile and upbeat attitude? I found Andrew's website while browsing for photographers for my daughter's wedding. It was…read moreimmediately obvious that his pictures are in a different league from those of "wedding photographers": artistic without being artsy or pretentious, natural, perfectly composed, capturing all the emotion - each picture (of people who were strangers to me, no less) "moved" me. My daughter and son-in-law interviewed several other photographers, and quickly realized that Andrew was the one. He is a pleasure to work with and asked all the right questions of the bride and groom to find out what they were hoping for. On the wedding day Andrew had everything under control (even the things we didn't!). The posed pictures were fast and easy, and I noticed Andrew and his terrific assistant (also a great photographer in his own right) exactly once during the ceremony and reception - at the very end; they could have been watching TV in the bride's room and we wouldn't have known, they were that unobtrusive. So we have no idea how they managed to shoot hundreds of beautiful pictures, beyond any hopes or expectations, capturing every important moment and more throughout the day. Our only complaint is that each picture is so fabulous, it's going to be excruciating to do the selection for the albums. My late husband, Ashley's father, had promised her the wedding of her dreams and she had, over time, created a vivid and richly-detailed vision of the event that Sarah 'magically' made real for her. I ran my own catering company for twelve years and planned my share of weddings; I am well aware that Sarah's graceful and seemingly effortless execution of the entire extravaganza was, in reality, the result of assiduous attention to detail, tireless preparation and contingency planning and a wonderful capacity for collaboration and communication. She juggled the often conflicting priorities of the bride, the site planners, the hotel event staff and literally dozens of other vendors, while subtly nudging them all toward a coherent team effort with charm and finesse. I know from professional experience how much hard work goes into making things look easy. Often, it's the little touches that leave lasting impressions and fond memories. In the final, hectic minutes before we left the house for the ceremony, it was discovered that one of the wedding party did not have his specially matched tie (all of the ties had been ordered months in advance and couldn't be replaced.) Sarah made a matching tie "materialize" out of thin air ; always "Be Prepared" for any eventuality. She had saved a spare. Moments later, as we awaited the arrival of the shuttle, she noticed that my son, who was perspiring freely in the 90 degree heat, was in need of tee shirt to protect his dress shirt, she raced off and bought him one.
