I've been to quite a few weddings here, and I have to say the service can use a lot of work. The venue is beautiful, but working with the staff is a challenge. The view that you get from the outside is gorgeous and the inside interior looks great. While working with a few of the families getting married, I noticed that the staff wasn't as present on the day of. They advertise that they are very involved but are not. Basically you will need to prep and take care of everything yourself. Overall a solid experience. read more

It's such an amazing venue! My cousin Quinceañera was hosted here, and it was spectacular. This establishment has a few ballrooms located inside with plenty of different styles to fit whatever need, event, and theme you may be looking for. Upon driving up to the venue, you are greeted with a long driveway that takes you directly to the entrance of the venue. You can walk along their garden path, passed their beautiful garden archway that leads you to their gardens. They also have a chapel right beside the location where a lot of wedding ceremonies take place. Upon entering the main location, you are greeted with just opulence. White marble flooring, white walls with gold trim. It's just spectacular. To your right, there is a grand staircase with a piano forte where a lot of pictures are taken. The ballroom we were in was Ball room B, and it was nothing short of amazing. A grand staircase that leads to a couple of suits where brides, bridal parties, and birthday girls can get ready at. The room itself is grand. Hosts about 300 people or so. It has a bar towards the back of the room. The food was delicious. We had appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Everything from the meat and cheese, fruits, crab cakes, calamari, egg rolls, etc. was delicious! I ate so much food and felt no guilt about it. If I lived in the state, this would definitely be my go-to location to host any events as they do go above and beyond to help make sure things run smoothly on the day of the event. Towards the end of the night, we had the pleasure of meeting one of the Co Owners, Ernesto, I believe. He was very polite and asked how we liked the venue and if we had a great time. He even took the time out to show us more of the grounds that we didn't see as we were not in that area. We also were able to sneak peak, another venue that was hosting a wedding, and that room was GRANDER than the one we were in. This spot is one stop show for all your wedding and party needs. They have a church, party venue and a beautiful setting for outdoor photos. I attended recently for a 16th birthday and was impressed at both the room and the food that was served. The ceilings are high and there are plenty of space for where the dance floor is located and seating. There is one bar tucked away off to the right side of the room which we had no trouble finding The look was not dated as some of the other ones in the area had but i will say that the bathroom could use some update. Aria a beautiful wedding venue that recently held a dinner with Santa. This was our first time attending and it was spectacular. The venue is absolutely stunning by itself, but to see it decked out in Christmas decorations was magical. The evening started with dinner which was served buffet style. There were so many different dishes (a foodies dream...lol) which included a salumeria station, salad bar, stuffed breads, gourmet pizzas, hot hors d'ouveres, variety of pasta dishes, mashed potato bar, chicken nuggets and fries, meat carving station, plethora of desserts, and a waffle station which was one of my favs! As the dinner went on, each table was called out to the foyer for an opportunity to take a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. We all had a wonderful time. The event is also a toy drive, all toys and donations are donated to Connecticut Children's Medical Center. read more

On the day of my our wedding I cannot complain about the staff or services. Overall our friends and family had a blast! However, I do have one minor complaint and its about the "owners brother". Upon walking guests out of the venue I discovered the "owners brother" yelling at some family members kids on the upper level saying "stop running around I don't want you over there". I immediately intervened and said please do not yell at them just bring it to my attention. I instructed the kids to go back inside our ballroom. The kids were 100% wrong, and should not have been playing outside of our rented space. Shortly after that, the "owners brother" started patrolling our ballroom periodically. I politely approached him to ask if he got a glance of the children that he was yelling out to make sure it didn't happen again. He said that he didn't, but after that his presence was very uncomfortable. It was almost like he was policing our party. He would stand in random places with his arms folded surveying our party. Very, very uncomfortable. He'd be the sole reason why I would be hesitant to hold another event there. Other than that, our overall experience was amazing the staff was very helpful and maitre d was very reassuring. read more

They out the food down at strange time when everyone is dancing then they take it away so no chance of eating. Not ok. Far from ok for the amount of money spent. I would not even give them one star. DO NOT BOOK this venue! Let me preface my statements further by acknowledging the fact that we are in a pandemic, due to the gravity of the situation and the uncertainty of the world, this has thrown a loop in many events. You would assume that in light of this, an establishment the size of Aria would be more compassionate and understanding to their couples. Me and my fiance' planned to get married in 2020, after continuously seeing Covid cases ramp up, we were forced to move our date into 2021. After careful consideration, we realized that this was not our original plan nor the terms in which we agreed to when we signed a contract with Aria. Restrictions and guidelines are ever changing and the venue cannot 'guarantee' anything. We asked politely that Aria cancel our wedding and return our deposit since these are unforeseen events (Covid 19) that neither party could have anticipated. We reached out multiple times by phone and were not called back, this was not the same energy we received when we were originally choosing this venue. Lena immediately told me that if we canceled, we would lose our deposit. She angrily told us that we agreed to move our date, I explained to her that the force majeure clause of 'Specifically Covid 19' was never given notice of when the new contract was even sent. I would also like to note that at the time of this, my father recently passed away. Aria seems to have greatly taken advantage of that although I repeatedly told Lena that this was an unconscionable contract due to signing under duress as well as not being served any notice of any changes within the contract other than dates. I could not understand why a venue of this capacity would fight this much and sever their reputation as well as client relationship and customer satisfaction more importantly, over 2 thousand dollars? That is greedy and unethical. My response to Lena was that it seems unreasonable for a venue of this size to retain a deposit when they can simply not accommodate us for the original vision we had. The doctrine of frustration of purpose clearly states that this occurs when a party's principal purpose for entering into a contract such that the performance of the contract is radically different from the purpose of the original entered contract, which it was. While discussing with Lena over the phone, she offered no solution to accommodate us. It's not a difficult decision to make, we both did not see a pandemic hindering weddings so why should we have to pay when you cannot accommodate US and then to top it off you walk away not taking any hit but we do? It is completely immoral and absolutely disgusting to be treated in this matter, especially during a pandemic where people are already suffering and facing so many challenges. Lena's only solution to us was that she would HOLD our money for 2 years and if we decided to come back to Aria she would 'welcome us back'. She even told us that if we wanted to get in touch with our attorney to get in touch with hers to 'go ahead' and that she is 'going home'. Disgusting. In my opinion after the tone of the discussion this already severed the relationship we had and we would NOT like to return. Do not book this venue, especially if you are a Covid-19 couple trying to get married, don't let these people fool you, they ONLY care about your money. read more

Beautiful venue. The food was very good. Better than most catering venues. There were over 700 people and the staff was amazing. I had chicken Marsala with whipped potatoes and asparagus. All were well seasoned. I'm only giving this place three stars because we were seated in one of the smaller ballrooms and on the coldest night of the year so far it was freezing in that room. The wedding was outside at 6pm and a long cocktail hour right after outside next to a beautiful fountain of water. They served pizza and small bites . The staff was attentive and quick to grab empty plates/stemware when you were done . The grounds are nice and picturesque. The building lights up at night making for some nice ambiance. They have a few halls here . The one we were in was big and had a nice dance floor . I'm sure they have built in wedding packages here that I must look into for my future upcoming wedding . Dinner was delicious steak/chicken/fish . I want the same thing made because those steaks are amazing !!!! We booked the Aria because upon our first visit many months ago, we thought the chapel was gorgeous and the reception hall was large enough. We wanted to wait to actually experience our wedding before writing the review. In short - book this place if you're looking for a grand look for an affordable price. BUT this place is definitely a wedding venue machine, you are just a bag of money to them and the customer service is not there. BEFORE EVENT: - Planning with Aria Staff - We were planning with this venue for months. Overall, it was disorganized, rushed, some of the sales managers are not tech savvy. - At one of our planning meetings, a staff member asked the staff member working with us "are you done yet?" in an annoyed tone. We understand you want to go home (it was a scheduled appointment) but really... a few feet from the customer? - Note: We were told a week before our wedding - If you have a guest you paid for, that did not show up, you can not pack up their food and take it home even if you paid for it. We were told the reason "for health reasons." So consider that money your donation to the Aria. For comparison - the Waterview in Monroe is around the same price point and packs up all food so it's not a foreign concept in the wedding business. DAY OF EVENT: - Kitchen/Bar Staff- Extremely nice, accommodating, helpful. - Setting up staff - (those setting up tables) - rude, sassy, slow. I was saddened to hear the receptionist was very rude to our wedding planning team. When asked about picking up additional items, they were told "Hurry up, we throw it all out." This was within 2 days of the event. Customer service is not there. - A staff member randomly added a clothing rack with flowers as an decorative arch to the chapel stage when no one asked for it? We wanted the plain white space, nothing in the background besides us and the officiator. So all of our ceremony pictures have this random arch which we never asked for. I remember walking down the aisle puzzled looking at this structure I did not ask for. - Event Coordinator for the day said to our team - "We are starting whether they [bride and groom] are here or not." We found this out after the fact. Meanwhile, the entire wedding party is waiting in the bridal suite waiting for a cue to start walking. -The bridal assistant was honestly the only pleasant person we worked with all day and made sure the bride and groom were fully taken care of. read more

No servers in the room, everything ran low or emptied and nothing was replenished. The only thing that was good was the shrimp boat. I'm sure the family paid extra for this. The reception was ran on auto pilot. There was very limited waitstaff in the room. There was no Maitre D present in the room. You needed to preorder your entree when you responded to the wedding. This place was a dream ! Everything was perfect and aside from a little kerfuffle about where the florist left the flowers, (in the office) everything else was smooth. The reception building was a magnificent place on top of the hill, surrounded by perfectly manicured landscaping adorning the grounds. It was a dry 80 degree day in October -we could not have asked for better-it was perfect weather. The chapel looked heavenly-so pristine with the white marble and the simplicity of arched designs made one feel like you entered into an angelic hall. The cocktail hour was simply beyond impressive- on their gorgeous stone garden terrace. There were so many appetizers and wines and an open bar it was just amazing! It was a beautiful evening and they had a Tuscan garden with waterfalls and fountains, so you can stroll with your wine or cocktail and partner and just enjoy! it was like being in Italy but better! The main dining room food choices were very nicely done with bottles of wine on the table and constantly refreshed. The attention from the servers was beyond anything we have ever experienced at any wedding. The ballroom was so elegant and the windows and chandeliers were a sight to behold. I recently attended my cousin's wedding at Aria and upon driving up to the venue, you get a sense that the place is going to be beautiful. It is either brand new or was recently renovated. The landscaping is beautiful. The wedding ceremony was outdoors. Thankfully, there was no rain in the forecast. Once the bride and groom and the rest of the wedding party went inside, we hung out to take pictures. The view is amazing. The food was great too. During the cocktail hour, there were buffet stations set up outside on the patio area, and inside as well. There was also a cook There were so many options and I wanted to taste it all. By the time it was actually time for us to eat during the reception, I was barely able to finish my plate because of the food I ate during the cocktail hour. This is one of those venues where there are multiple halls, therefore, more than one wedding or event can occur simultaneously. I went earlier this week for a tour for my upcoming wedding. Needless to say will not be having my wedding at Aria. There was no one to greet me when I arrived eventually someone came down the stairs and said " I need to find someone to do your tour" I made the appointment a week in advance they knew I was coming at noon, and I was on time I mentioned that on their website it says they can do several different types of culinary dishes. And that my fiance is jamaican-born. Lina, who did my tour, said "oh yes we do a very good jerk chicken, for a entree but that's all we can do." She then proceeded to tell me that they also can do the "little hamburgers, they like." To which my response was "I think you mean beef patties" she then says as she's waving her hand dismissively "whatever they're called. We also do different kinds of rice because we know how they like their rice" I was left speechless I could not believe how dismissive and underlying the racist this woman was. Went to one of the bridal expos and what an over hyped venue. Save your money if you're looking to get married here. The price you pay per person per plate just isn't worth it. I tried at least a bite of most everything, and I have to tell you, a lot of it was thrown away. The shrimp was undercooked, the meat was tasteless, the taquitos tasted freezer burnt, the mini cheeseburgers were like bits of charcoal, and the stuffed mushrooms were slimy. Whatever bakeries they brought in were not impressive either, the cake was so dry at all of them, it was like eating sawdust. The bananas foster samples they had there too were watery as all get out. Last night I went to Arias first ever Halloween party, and I was impressed. I'd never been before and I thought the entire setup was amazing. They had a photo booth, large dance floor, and great back drops for fun pics. I'm a picky eater so I didn't love all the food but there was plenty of it and none of my friends complained, they actually raved about it. The servers were great, cleared out plates out quick. My only big complaint was the bar service, they only had two bartenders working when they should have had at least 4, had to wait 10-15 minutes for a drink everytime. Other than that the place was gorgeous and we had a ton of fun. We'll be back next year if they have another one! read more

Attending large meetings once a month means that you get to sample a wide variety of banquet venues. I've been to the Aria at least three or four times, and the food here is among the best of any banquet venue in the area. Were I planning a wedding or another event for a large group, I would definitely consider the Aria. The space is beautiful, too! read more

All I have to say is I would never do my wedding here the service is terrible. The staff is rude with terrible attitudes. Lets start with the rehearsal dinner. When we arrived we were told we could not drive up the driveway because they were doing paving so we had to walk everything up, with no help!!! Now for the day of the wedding the bridal assistant was terrible super rude and rushed us on everything! Cocktail hour was supposed to be outside instead they crammed 500ppl into a small room which I would of understood if it was raining but it wasn't!! BARTENDERS WERE HORRIBLE! There was one girl that was very nice. The other 2 were slow rude! Be aware they cannot make shots... no long islands... no pina colada... no kamikazies!!! You can not have more than one drink at once, which is difficult bc there is only 1 bar, not to mention I could not bring a second drink for my date. TERRIBLE! They should not call this top shelf open bar instead they should call it NO BAR! The mattre D' was clueless I believe his name was Sergio... I told him about my concerns and he had no idea to to solve these issues I was so upset! I had a guest who ordered Chicken and they brought him fish and they would not fix the issue!!! Thats crazy! This family owned venue in CT was over the top spectacular in every aspect. I just had my daughters wedding there a week ago. My guests can not stop talking about it. We are from New York and we are Italian and we do things a little differently. I was very nervous about having a wedding in CT, but my daughter fell in love with this place as soon as she drove up that hill and saw it. As did I when I saw it. Grounds are very captivating. The owners are very hands on and get involved in everything from lavish landscaping , making sure the service is impeccable even taking the time to hire Italian speaking maitre d. Cocktail hour was awesome. If I had known I wasn't gonna be eating dinner til almost 11:30 at night I woulda ate way much more. Dinner sucked. Nobody's steak was cooked right. Out of 8 people at our table 4 steaks were "hockey pucks." Bartender was an asshole and refused to serve me. He said I consumed over 25 cocktails which if I had I wouldn't have been able to stand up more less form words to argue with him. Especially when he said, I've got you on video all night pal. Then refused to show me said video. I proceeded to call him a Twat waffle and then the yelling match started. If it wasn't for the other bartender getting involved it would've gotten out of hand and I would've had to slap around gramps all over the venue. All in all don't go to this place. It kills me to write this review, but after mulling it over for the last 3 weeks I feel like I need to clarify some things about this venue. My husband and I had chosen Aria over 2 years ago after attending a wedding back in '13. We loved everything from the food to the atmosphere. But our whole experience was bumpy from the start. My suggestion: Aria's staff needs to be more organized and they need to pay attention to the paperwork that they request from their couples. Although my guests raved about the food and the breathtaking grounds, my husband and I were embarrassed by the bouncing around we received throughout our planning and the overall lack of attention to detail and organization. We used to brag about how excited we were with Aria, and now I turn red at the thought of all the things that went wrong. When we booked with Aria, we had one coordinator - for the sake of saving time and confusion, I'll call this person "A". A was very sweet, but months after we had booked, A no longer worked there. We were assigned coordinator B who was very helpful but said she'd be out of the country until our wedding. She assured us she would be there for the big day-ok no problem...except she wasn't there. We were given ANOTHER coordinator (C). So at THIS point, my husband and I had explained what we wanted to 3 different people. I am an extremely organized person; Aria had given us spread sheets etc, but I went above that and labeled boxes-dummy proof. Along with this, the spread sheets explained the procession, and what needed to go where etc. We went over it with coordinator C at our final appointment. According to Aria's contract: If you show up late to your appointment, Aria will "forfeit" your rehearsal time. We showed up to our 4pm appt on time...C didn't take us in until 4:45pm because she was in with another couple. C rushed through our appointment and through me telling her the processional and table/decoration information. As she was walking us out to do our rehearsal the woman at the desk (K) offered to walk us through instead as they had another appointment about to walk in. So, WE'RE not allowed to be late otherwise we miss out, you made US wait and now we have a 4th "coordinator" who has not been there for ANY of our appointments just because you don't want to be late to another appointment? We had explained to the previous 3 coordinators that the girls would not be escorted down- the groomsmen would already be standing at the gazebo. K began to line us all up-groomsmen with a bridesmaid. I explained what we wanted to her which completely threw her off. Long story short, the rehearsal was shaky and made me feel even more anxious about the wedding day. 100% had an issue with having to explain what we wanted numerous times to numerous people - especially when it was also written down. The whole rehearsal was totally off putting. I arrived at 9:45AM on my wedding day. As the contract states, I would have a bridal attendant with me. A few other things that were discussed was that the time we had in the reception hall would depend on if everything went as scheduled or if we went over our allotted time for cocktail hour etc, they also had told us that no guest would be allowed in the reception hall until after the ceremony. I had no attendant until 10:30 (although the attendant was amazing so no complaint there). Decorations were still in boxes at 10:30am with an 11am ceremony, and guests were walking around the ballroom. I had on paper that my "In memory Table" was to be in the ballroom but until I said something to my coordinator, it was out in the foyer. And, when it came time for the ceremony, my DJ (who had NO affiliation with Aria), had to say something to them to get it started. Our 11am wedding started at 11:30- even though I had been ready and in my dress since 10:45am. And they STILL tried to line the groomsmen up to escort the girls. Aria's staff completely ignored all paperwork that we had filled out and any discussions we had had. Why bother asking what we wanted on our wedding day? Whats more, we were supposed to have the ballroom until 5pm and they started cleaning it up before 4pm. Totally disappointed and disconcerted as a bride. read more

After setting up an appointment to go see this venue for my upcoming wedding, I walked out before I even saw the entire place. I walked in, was greeted by a rude receptionist who then made me fill out a "new appointment" form. She went upstairs to let the manager know I was there, she came back and said "she'll be with you as soon as possible." Customer service is huge. Not wasting my time, or thousands of dollars on a place that can't even be on time to show me their facility. Annoyed I wasted my time driving to be let down by terrible customer service. This was absolutely the worst wedding facility I have ever experienced. As part of the bridal party, I arrived 3 hours prior to the event start, as instructed. No one was there to greet us in front or in the office... We wandered around for 15 minutes before stumbling across someone on the wait staff who could point out the bridal suite - which was totally bare, not even water for the bridal party! About an hour later, after the bride had arrived and begun ensuring the decor details were correct we finally got some water and one bottle of champagne - but we could not get drinks from the bar yet, which we were originally told we could. The staff randomly allowed several family members and even a random guest into the suite without asking anyone in the party, while we were trying to get the bride ready. The ceremony started on time and was beautiful, but there were not enough chairs for guests and many people were standing. During the cocktail hour, no one in the staff brought any food or drinks to the bridal party... We had to ask other guests to bring it to us. When pictures were done and we went up to the suite, it was then that the staff brought us food and drinks... Little did we know, they had ended the cocktail hour and everyone was inside waiting for us. It was an hour later they finally had the DJ introduce us. It was almost 9pm and no part of dinner had been served - not even bread on the tables! It only got worse from there... The staff was entirely rude, and slow. The food buffet was terrible, except for 2 out of about 15 dishes. The champagne for toasting was removed from the tables without any question, BEFORE the toast was done. If someone got up from their seat for 2 minutes, their drink and plate would be gone upon their return even if it was still full. Overall, what saved this wedding was the friends, family and DJ... I would never recommend this venue to anyone for a wedding. read more

I attended a wedding here recently. The venue is beautiful. However, the staff is unprofessional. I caught one of the servers taking a selfie during the wedding ceremony (of/with the wedding ceremony). And then 2 servers splitting wings from the post dinner "hors d'oeuvres". read more

I cannot say enough about how perfect my wedding was thanks to the wonderful staff at the Aria! Loredonna and the rest of our wedding coordinators listened and adjusted to all of our concerns and helped us plan and experience the best day of our lives! The food was amazing and plentiful (definitely splurge for the Venetian hour!!), the grounds and rooms are stunning, and the service staff is so accommodating and welcoming. Nice banquet hall situated on a hill. I've heard so many people talk this place up that I really was expecting a truly exceptional hall. This is like many other big dollar facilities. A box with some adornments located inside the box with table linens. Some have talked about the beautiful scenery that the property overlooks. Oh yea, Waterbury is so gorgeous. We came here for the Monthly Monday night dinner. The food was just okay. Typical banquet food, nothing to get overly excited about although there was a large quantity. I know that based on the feel for me and the quality of food that I will be looking elsewhere for my future wedding. Overall, I'm not super impressed. read more

Just attended a social function at this facility. There were over 400 guests in attendance. 1. Very plain decor in lobby-no place to take pictures 2. Bathrooms were not cleaned during the event. Many stalls ran out of toilet paper. 3. Not enough servers for the amount of guests. Dinner came to our table around 9:45p. Coffee and dessert at 11p-event ended at 12a. 4. Food-prime rib was dry and cold, chicken was dry and tough, shrimp was essentially all stuffing. 5. Dessert was Italian pastry assortment, which looked and tasted like it came from Shop Rite 2 weeks ago. Overall I would NOT recommend this venue for ANY event.
