I have a smart lock padlock on my door and the battery died without warning. Being relatively new to Charlotte, I didn't know of a recommended locksmith company and aimlessly called companies down the list of my Google/Yelp searches. Pop-a-Lock didn't even answer the phone and Eastway Lock & Key told me they couldn't come until tomorrow, despite telling them that I had a pet locked inside. Who would ever need a locksmith "tomorrow?!" I am so glad that I finally reached Mr. Rekey, who sent Edward out in less that 20 minutes. He was able to cleanly drill through the padlock so that he could easily replace the wiring, cut me a key in case this should ever happen again, changed the settings on my lock that I didn't even know were there, and only charged me their base fee for showing up. I didn't have to pay for the batteries or the new parts and he was done in less than 30 minutes. I am so thankful for Edward and Mr. Rekey! No one ever expects for these mishaps to ruin their day, but it's so nice to know there's a company out there willing to do the best job, in the quickest time, who can make an incredibly upsetting and unfortunate event as pleasant as possible. I rarely write reviews for any kind of service provider, but I am extremely pleased to write a stellar review for Mr. Rekey. Earlier today, Mr. Edward Thomas, the Residential Service Manager, came to my home to re-key 6 different locks so that all locks would be on the same key. I have been carrying around five different keys and now I'm only carrying one that lets me into any door of my home. Mr. Thomas was the ultimate professional, keeping me updated as to when he would arrive (which he did when he said he would.) Once here, he made quick work of the job. I could tell from the very beginning that this gentleman knew exactly what he was doing. Within an hour, I had six new locks with only one key. I cannot recommend Mr. Thomas, or his company, more highly. If you ever need the services of a locksmith, I strongly encourage you to call this company! BRAVO!! read more

Moved into my new home and was only given 1 key. More than likely, extras are out there and I wanted my locks changed to feel more secure. Called Mr. Rekey and Edward came same day. He showed up at my place, changed all 3 locks, provided me with 4 keys and was in/out in 30 minutes. He is extremely polite, efficient and friendly. Fee was $119 for all locks and keys which I felt was extremely reasonable. Plus, I was very impressed with how quickly this was able to be accomplished and now I feel much safer in my new home. Can't say enough positive things about Edward Thomas and Mr. Rekey. The process was straightforward and clear from start to finish. I knew exactly what I was going to pay ahead of time and it was very fair. (The Charlotte rate is apparently up to $119 now). I called yesterday, they had an appointment today, he came at the early part of the time frame, called ahead, and was done within 45 min. He also installed a locking doorknob on my master closet for a reasonable fee. (The dispatcher had me buy the doorknob so it would match my others, so I was only charged installation.) I was so impressed with Eddie from Rekey. He came to my home and completely changed all the locks and even though we couldn't get the garage door keypad to work, he made sure I had complete access to it and fixed it on his own. The price was exactly as quoted by the company with no hidden charges. Eddie made sure I was safe and even checked all the other doors and locks prior to his departure. Hello, Yelp. Long time reader, first time poster. But, I had a fantastic experience using Mr Rekey's service. I just bought a house and wanted to rekey the 5 doors in the home. Edward Thomas gave me a shout about 20 minutes before showing up and was a total professional when he arrived. We even have one pretty outdated door and a few locks that were installed backwards. He was able to take care of all the locks and correct the original installation errors with the locks. And, he did so in less than 30 minutes. Super professional and polite. Okay, so I meant to write this review a year ago! Outstanding customer service!!! Edward was awesome from start to finish. From the courtesy call to let us know that he was on his way, to the finished installation. He was fast and efficient. I had 3 locks rekeyed and a brand new one installed as well! Gary from Mr Rekey came to the rescue today! It was 15 minutes after his Saturday shift was to be over, but he agreed to help me anyway. I had just moved into a new home and the back door did not lock. He came, assessed the problem, drove 20 minutes to Home Depot and return to secure my door. He didn't leave until after 5pm and was so incredibly kind and gracious about it all. Their response time to my request was speedy and the work and general service was outstanding. I've never had to receive any services from a locksmith before, but Mr. Edward Thomas definitely made my first experience painless and quick! I moved into a new home a few days ago and had him re-key all locks. Not only did he have the locks re-keyed in 10 minutes (maybe less), but he also checked my smoke detectors to make sure they were operating properly AND replaced the screws in the strike plates on each door. He even left us with a padlock and two keys for our back patio gate which was very unexpected but appreciated.
