He truly saved the day (and my sanity!) during a stressful situation late at night. Around 11pm, I accidentally locked my keys in the ignition with the car still running -- and my dog was stuck inside too. (Don't worry, the temperature was perfectly safe for him!) I was alone, in an industrial business park parking lot, as a small 32-year-old woman just trying to figure out what to do. Google listed a handful of "open late" locksmiths near me, so I called the first three before One Stop -- and every single one told me they wouldn't come out at that hour. I called at 835pm on Valentine's Day and they picked up, said someone could be an my place in 20 mines and flat fee of $135 without damaging my front house door locks. I had called someone else prior and they said they needed to see the lock to decide the price, then I asked for a range and after some persistence they said starting 100. I saw these reviews and felt more comfortable since they were on yelp. He was punctual, professional and very fast and efficient. He made me a new key and I was able to go in. Even though it was night time and I'm a woman w a child (Dallas) who was the one assigned to service us; was communicative told me the car he would arrive . Let me set the scene: it's a cold Thursday afternoon. We go out for our daily walk at lunch. We don't bring a key since we have a digital keypad. After just starting to warm up, we arrive back home from our walk. I put in our code into the keypad and suddenly it stops responding. We can't get in. I called up my friend who has a key. She stops by. We discover the locksmith who rekeyed our locks when I moved in did not rekey the door knob on the back door. So we can unlock the deadbolt but not the knob. Time for a locksmith. I came to Yelp and landed here. They were at our house within 30 minutes and we were inside 15 minutes later (although we had been outside for 2.5 hours at that point and I was freezing). For those of you thinking about calling a locksmith to help you break into someone else's house, they check your ID once you're back inside. Once inside, we had them rekey the back door knob and garage door to match the deadbolt. We also had them make 5 keys to distribute to all of our friends. I thought the price was more than reasonable. $185 for letting us in, rekeying two locks, and making 5 keys. It would have been $120 to let us in. And what about our not-so-trusty digital keypad? It decided to start working again as soon as I unlocked it from the inside. I hope you never need a locksmith to let you into your house, but if you do (or for some other purpose), these guys are great. read more
