I cannot recommend. I ordered an Onyx Collection sink which included the installation of the sink (with a 3-piece backsplash) and installation of a faucet (I provided) for a small bathroom vanity. I was concerned about what cleaners to use so the salesperson told me he would throw in a free bottle of cleaner. I was told 6-8 weeks wait for the sink to be made but I waited patiently for several months. When I called, I was told it would be installed the next week. A couple more weeks went by but I wasn't upset. When the installer arrived, he asked me if I still wanted all 3 sides of the backsplash and I said yes, I paid for that and he said he was just checking. Let's just say attention to detail and pride in workmanship is NOT evident. I had left a drip tray to use but he grabbed a bucket that had my new drawer pulls in it and some tools and said idk what is in here and continued to put it under the dripping plumbing...I had to stop him and say that is why I left that tray for you to use right here. He put the tray on top of water that already dripped on the painted wood vanity so I had to tell him let's wipe that up first. I noticed when he had to leave to get plumbing parts (the plumbing was leaking) that he had put a towel over the sink, the towel was covering a chip in the sink. I removed the towel he put there a second time before he left and showed him the chip and he said they would send him back out to fix it. He called the Project Manager and told him the day of the installation about the chip but no one called me to set up a time to fix it. He had braced the backsplash because he said that one side was bowed which I appreciated but when I removed the brace, the cardboard he used had damaged the caulk. And the backsplash was about 1/4" too short but instead of telling me, it was installed and the space was filled in with caulk. I believe that is why I was asked if I still wanted all 3 sides. I asked about the cleaner and he said it was on the work order but not in the shop. He did offer to go back and look but I said that's okay, don't make a special trip, it was free. The caulk looked dirty from day one (I think his finger was dirty) and it was messed up in several places. The backsplash pieces are not flesh on one said and the faucet was slightly crooked. I called the Project Manager/salesman for 2 weeks leaving multiple messages thinking he would come take a look but instead, he flat out ignored my calls. I finally called and got the owner who said it had been passed off to him and he was supposed to call me back. He said they would order a new piece to replace the short one and that they could remove the installed backsplash without damaging the walls. I was reluctant but said ok if he agreed to fixing any damages. I took off work and waited but they were a no show. I was told the man that was supposed to come out, had a family emergency. A week later, they sent the same man to fix the problems that had installed it. He straightened the sink by hand and caulked over with the leftover caulk I still had. I didn't watch him fix the chip (because I had to work) but you can see when the light hits it that it almost looks like sandpaper was used, I'm not sure but it's not shiny, its matte in places like when you sand something. I had called Onyx to report and they said they would fix it if Mr. Remodeler/Keith Blay Construction did not. I wish I had them fix the chip. The installer told me that Onyx only has one person that does repairs insinuating I would have had to wait a long time. He told me he did not think he could remove the backsplash without damaging my walls which is what I suspected too so I did not have him do that. Very disappointing workmanship and customer service. I should have been told about the short backsplash and given a choice of it being installed or waiting for a new piece. Just not the workmanship I expected at all. I showed a couple friends my new sink and didn't say anything but they noticed the backsplash and being too short and not flesh themselves. The people are nice but the workmanship is lacking. I waited 22 years to do this project and this wasn't worth the wait. When I called Onyx, they did say that this company had done a lot of work for them and they hadn't had any complaints yet. I suspect since mine was a small job ($888), it wasn't of high priority. read more

We hired Mr Remodeler in November of 2020 and our bathroom remodel was to start April 26 2021. We had to pay him 1/3 of the total project costs up front. He said he'd come by the week before the 26th to do a final walkthrough. Well, he was a no show and no calls for either week. Actually it was standard that he didn't return calls. He told us he had 53 projects to manage and was short staffed. Is that supposed to be our problem??? Absolutely NOT!! We finally decided to fire him. We didn't get all of our $ back bc he claimed the floor tile couldn't be replaced. We now have a wonderful tile guy to do the floor, tub and shower. We got a gorgeous mirror from Westport Glass and will get a cabinet maker to do the cabinets. Fortunately we already have done the sinks and granite! I think it's better to hire people who specialize in one area to do the remodel. The tile guy has done work for us before and did a great job! Tile work is ALL that he does!! read more

DO NOT USE Mr Remodeler--they were quick to bid the job and take a down payment but almost a year later a simple screen porch project on an existing deck was not finished--we had lumber sitting in our driveway for 6 months in all kinds of winter weather and then they send a carpenter to start that job who has no specifications at all so no clue as to what is expected. When they finally get the drawings to him they want him to tear into our roof the day before the worst winter storm we had all year is forecast. When he asked the job 'foreman' about the advisability of opening up the roof at this time he was told to put a trash bag or something over it. We quickly put a stop to any work and later canceled the job completely. I believe they knew when they bid the job that they did not have the carpenters to do the job but went ahead and promised to do the work to be started at least by August of 2020. Every time I questioned them about a start date I was told they would start next week. I was told this MANY times. We have lost a whole year waiting on them,time we could have been using looking for another contractor. When I asked for a itemized list of materials used (they did put in support posts) and man hours (they removed deck railing and gutters) and a refund for the unused lumber which was pretty weathered by then and which we gave them the option of picking up and for the guttering which was never replaced on another project they did, we did not receive ANY response from them The guttering was never put on an a closet addition and I was told the price of the guttering was figured into the screen porch remodel as they thought they could do both guttering jobs at the same time. We have been since September 2020 with no gutters on the closet addition which is causing damage to our landscaping and possibly to the foundation . We gave them the option of finishing the guttering or refunding the cost from the down payment for the screen porch . We are considering legal action. read more

I had Mr. Remodeler (Dean Blay) do a Bathroom remodel and also do a re-gutter on my recently purchased house. The bathroom remodel involved installing a walk-in shower, re-positioning a new toilet, installing a new sink and base cabinet, installing a large recessed medicine cabinet with three hinged-mirrors, replacing the floor and new flooring, putting new sheet rock on all of the walls, wall-papering, installing an automatic ventilation fan, and repairing the fresh water plumbing to the bath tube in an adjoining bathroom. The job took between two and three weeks to complete -- this adhered to our agreed upon expectations. The reguttering went OK with only a small disagreement when I was concerned about having to pay for extra materials and time which were not stated in his amount for the reguttering. The BIG PROBLEMS were with the bathroom job. I learned within 7 to 10 days of the start of the bathroom remodel that that the workman was a brand new employee of Mr.Blay who let this man work without adequate supervision. I became aware of this when a different man was brought-in to do most, not all, of the plumbing work. The original workman installed the water feed pipe (copper) for the shower head without anchoring it in any way (I had noticed that the shower head could be moved side-to side a distance of two to three inches - this was never corrected since they would have had to remove and completely reinstall the shower). The molded sink & top assembly that was installed on the new base cabinet was worped -- the right front corner of the sink top had a gap of 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch which was filled-in with water-proof caulking jell. Lack of adequate supervision and/or purposeful neglect let this defective product be installed. Months after they finished their work, as I was sitting in my basement watching TV, I heard a huge THUD coming from the remodeled bathroom upstairs. When I opened the bathroom door, there was one of the hinged mirrors from the recessed medicine cabinet laying on the floor (fortunately unbroken) alongside an 8" piece of the molded sink top which was broken-out when it was hit by the falling mirror pane. Looking back, our disagreement over his poorly estimated reguttering job may (or must) have resulted in the poorly done bathroom remodel job. B E W A R E !! read more
