A nice lady told us someone could come out today, on a Saturday, which was what we wanted. It took a little over an hour and Ryan Dean came out. I liked the fact I got a text with his picture. My experience with this company is not great. So let me break it down. Initially, I was informed that my drain line couldn't be snaked completely due to roots, which turned out to be incorrect. After consulting another company, they successfully cleared the line and discovered that the replacement pipe had been installed incorrectly. They also noted that the entire line was improperly graded, meaning that even if the immediate issue was resolved, backflow would still occur. The removal of the tree roots and the installation of 10 feet of new pipe cost nearly $2,000, while I had received an estimate of over $4,000 for a partial fix that wouldn't have addressed the underlying problem. I'm relieved we caught these significant plumbing issues early on, as it seemed the first company was not fully transparent and may have been trying to piece together a solution. Trusting my instincts, I chose to go with the second company, which did an excellent job. As a side note, I never received photos of the completed work from the first company, and despite my follow-up calls, I'm still waiting for them. read more

We had a hot water heater installation that needed to be done prior to listing our house for sale. We had gotten probably 6 other quotes from people around the area, all of which tried to sell us crap we didn't need. I made one call to Mr. Rooter (via HomeAdvisor, I believe), and Zane came right out. Not only did he have a huge amount of knowledge and expertise for what we were looking for (tankless, large enough for this size house), but he knew enough to know we wouldn't recoup the investment for this area. He showed us exactly what we needed and gave us a quote that was extremely competitive for anyone else we've talked to. Not only did he quote us with multiple options, he came out the very next day after we picked one and installed it quicker than it took me to look him up! I highly recommend going with Mr. Rooter for any plumbing needs you might have, and specifically request Zane...because a solid trustworthy service specialist is super hard to find these days and he will take care of anything you need! My master bathroom was clogged. The remaining portions of the house drained just fine. Two plumbers and 4 hours later, it was determined the only thing that could clear the clog was an hydrojetting the vent stack for $1,300. I'm not sure if that work was completed because they couldn't produce any pictures of it being done and my bathroom was still clogged. Since I had signed the agreement and had to pay before they left. Two different plumbers returned 4 days later and within 20 minutes, using a snake and plunger cleared the clog and charged me $550 since they were their 'master plumbers'. I did receive a refund 12 days later for $700. The worst part? The drain only stayed clear for 2 days. I had to call another plumber who sent one guy, charged me $450 for 2 hours of work and my drain has been clear ever since. Please don't use Mr. Rooter! read more

2 stars given - 1 for being reliable and 1 for coming out the same day. Service and overall price was... well... subpar. Overcharged and incorrectly charged for the plumber just to replace the rubber stoppers on the shut off valves in my shower. (It was only 2 steps for him for to do & I had even explained to him what needed to be done; very easy job for him). He also used my tools and didn't even bring in his own. When he removed the shut off valve screws, it was covered with calcium buildup. Plumber didn't clean it or brush it. He removed the old rubber stoppers and replaced it with new ones, put the new stopper back on the calcified screw and put it back in place. Left the old rubber stopper pieces in my tub and didn't clean it up. My invoice shows that I was charged for "Repair 1/2" Water Hose Faucet", which is an incorrect service, but the plumber said there wasn't anything in his system that has a quote for replacing the rubber stopper. So, I was charged way more for a "repair" he didn't do. I asked why it cost so much & he said it's for labor. $260 for him to unscrew a screw, put a rubber cap on it & screw it back, while leaving a mess, borrowing my tools, and not even cleaning the part he "repaired". He also had to leave and come back because he only had 1 rubber stopper on hand, which took another 45mins or so. He was a nice guy but I expected more professionalism and courtesy - charge your customers accordingly to the work and effort, use your work own tools, clean the part that's being "repaired", ensure you have the supplies needed in your truck, & clean up after your service read more

The initial phone call to set of the appointment dropped a few times, but once I stated I needed an "after hours" repair a plumber arrived in a timely manner. The job was done satisfactory (so far, there is a year warranty on the work). After talking to other trade members, the cost was expensive for the job regardless of the $189 after hours fee, $615 for the service itself. Brian came out within less than an hour of me calling. Right off the bat he was kind. I explained what was happening and he went right under the sink to look. He presented me with a reasonable offer for the job. He had to snake our kitchen sink as it was clogged and backed up on both sides. He got the clog out and spent a decent amount of time testing to make sure there wasn't water backing up again. He then replaced a part of piping that wasn't correct. He cleaned up everything. On Monday I'm called saying that they had missed my communication on Yelp for setting the appointment and wanted to know if they could come. However, he said there was a $59 dispatch fee. I told him the appointment was only for an estimate. He said I still had to pay. I don't fault the technician, he was doing his job. I called for a evaluation and I was told on the phone that it'll be free, I had called because whenever someone was using the bathroom and the kitchen sink at the same time our kitchen sink would clog but eventually it'll go down with the garbage disposal. After explaining to my concerned wife that something like that is normal she insists on calling a professional I went with Mr. rooter because like I stated before they would do a free evaluation. The gentleman came in did his best to remake the situation my wife was concerned about. He too said it was normal. He was at my house for 45 min I know this cuz I tacked it on my ring doorbell, he didn't put a snake in my drain he just kept turning water sources on and off. Later he says my crawlspace is producing "graywater" I checked before he looked and my crawlspace wasn't flooded only some water at the entrance. I myself have done crawlspace work and went under my house before this visit and didn't find any leaks on the vapor barrier. During the time he was here he says " I have to charge you something for the time I was here" I agreed because as a pest control technician I charge for my time but I don't charge $201 for less than an hours work!!! I found Mr. Rooter through Yelp after calling two other plumbing places to get a quote and time frame in which someone could come out. I had a washer installed but the delivery guy couldn't get the hot water hose off the valve and advised I call a plumber to help so nothing gets damaged. The water in my house is apparently very hard and the hose was REALLY old (19ish years) so the hot water hose had fused to the valve. Mr. Rooter was able to send a technician out a couple of hours after I called (all other places I called said maybe late Friday, but likely early Monday) which was great! Used this company to fix my leaking water heater. Technician came and tinkered with the unit. offered me two option: 1. $3000 to rebuilt unit 2. $5000 to replace. I said no. Asked him how much for him coming out; he said free but charged me $85 at the end. my unit has been leaking for a week; I called water heater company to send me parts and found that mr rooter tech had ordered the parts and have it mailed to him; he has received it for one week and did not even bother to call me while my water heater is in a brink of catching fire.
