I thought all those drive through places in that area were about the same but I learned today i could have saved a lot had I been going to one place just down the street. I picked up 15 cartons and it was right at a thousand dollars. Then i looked at what i spent just 2 years ago, and i understand prices go up every yeqar with inflation but this place goes up way too much and too often. Its unfortunate because i like this place otherwise, but 2 yrs ago to the month it was alot lower, jump up to now price per carton has gone up $15 per carton....which means if you purchase a lot, and for me its atleast a dozen, thats a difference of $180 fyi. One place down he street, in the opposite direction, was close to their prices but still about $1 lower. Now a buck is not a lot but again, if you purchase alot like me, thats $15. Every bit adds up. I almost said i remember the days when a carton was $50 the i realized, wait that was just 2 years ago...its not like i am saying back in the day, like in 1990 a pack of smokes was $1.50. Now a pack is over $6...

We walk in and were greeted by a cloud of sweet cigar smoke and viewed floor to ceiling cigars on both sides of this thin shop. A woman and a man were at the center of the shop sitting at a tiny bar top with several liquor bottles against the wall in display - both were smoking big fat cigars. They had an expresso coffee machine at the bar. When you Check-In to the shop on YELP you receive a Free Cappucino Coffee. At the rear of the shop there was a small glass door room with the higher end cigars in display. A man, we think he was either a manager or family of the owner - not sure though, asked us if we wanted a tour, we thought, "theres more?" He walked us next door and it was a separate room with one elderly man smoking a cigar and watching sports on a wall monitor. At the rear of the room were several personal safes to store your coveted cigars for a fee of $400 a year. He even showed us a bathroom with beautiful decor, and I'm a big fan of a clean bathroom. We walked to the rear outside where there was a full bar and a poker table for friendly games. This cigar shop is a definite must see is visiting downtown Hollywood.

For a traditionalist, I tend to shun cigar establishments that offer hookahs and tolerate cigarettes so you can imagine shock that a place like Royal Cigars would reshape it's focus. I had considered simply deleting my previous review. I probably would have done just that if Royal Cigars had changed it's name. But, by keeping "Cigars" in their name, I felt the need to address it and rate it as a cigar spot. I understand the economics with the vape, cbd, juul craze and the challenges to stay competitive. If you're at the track and need a grab and go then help yourself. I do not recommend for the cigar aficionado.
