I have had a bunch of work done here since I have lived in Canton and I can't be happier with the work that they do. What prompted this review though was me getting two new tires on my car. I got an oil change and the guy told me that I may want to think about two new rear tires at some point, because they were begining to dry rot. I immediately set an appointment at Terry's. I dropped my car off and when I got home the tire tech called me and asked why I was getting new tires, because the rears weren't in that bad of shape. What fricking mechanic/shop does this? Stay away from the Canton shop. This place could break a hammer and put it back together backwards. Their prices for parts are 3 times the amount that they pay for them. I told them i wanted a certain brand of shocks installed and they put a generic brand on which cost $22 apiece at the local AZ and charged me $240. I dont know how they came up with $550 extra for labor on such a easy job? Be sure to inspect your vehicle before and after they work on it or you may get a big surprise!!!! I had previously brought my van here a year ago and had a pleasant visit, which is why I returned for service. Unfortunately, this time was a very different experience. I was quoted $4,587 for an AC repair -- a number that immediately felt excessive. While waiting, I also overheard the manager speaking very disrespectfully about another customer who was there for tires, which was unprofessional and concerning. Curious, I looked into the manager further and discovered that he has open lawsuits related to auto repair and other issues. Based on this experience and what I've since learned, I will not be bringing my van back here, nor will I recommend this shop. Quoted me a fair price so I made an appointment, after waiting an hour and a half after my appointment time they came back and said it will be three times the original quote. The worst customer service ever!!! After being quoted 56.00 for a headlight replacement, I was charged 100.00. It worked for less than a day and burnt out. When I took it in the next day, the manager John Herman, said that I had been overcharged (by John Cole). They did replace the headlight again and I was told I was going to be credited 25.00 for the overcharge. That never happened and when I went in a week later they said they had to call corporate. When I called to follow up, he told me I would not receive the 25.00 credit, even though I had been given paperwork stating such, per the district manager. Absolutely the worst customer service ever!!! Charged $450 for one tire, after only six months, the tire was showing cords, on the outside near the rim and had a huge bubble. I took my car here almost 2 months ago on 12/20/22 (Fulton location in case it does not say) to get a pipe I had going to my muffler, which was barely held by a clamp and JB-Weld, welded. Called early in the morning and was able to get myself a spot right away. The mechanic (JOHN COLE) said originally that the service was going to cost me $600+. Instantly I knew that was too much for what I needed done so I spoke up. He lowered the price down to 400. I still said that was too much, so then he finally lowered it to a final price of $362.50. At that point I just wanted it done so I gave him my keys and left. 6 hours later I get a call that its done and I make my way over. He then tells me he "wasn't able to weld the top so there's a pinhole leak". Obviously the job was not done and was still charged full price I was quoted, but I didn't want to make a scene and decided I would seal the rest of it with exhaust tape. 2 weeks later I went under the car to seal the leak he left and saw that he completely butchered my exhaust. Burnt metal, "welded" non-stainless clamps to stainless steel (which melted the clamps), pieces of metal chipping away and not to mention it was welded crooked so it's constantly vibrating on metal. He also "welded the other side of the pipe which I never asked for. Went in to get either a refund or the job done correctly and he refused both and instead gave us a number to call and seemed to not care about what he did at all. He is a professional scammer and people need to stay away from this location specifically. I called the number he gave us, explained in detail the situation, and was told I would be speaking with our district manager the following Monday. I never received a call back. read more

I usually only come here for oil changes and simple fixes. The oil change is cheap, but always take at least an hour. Only go if you have time and don't mind the wait. Also, even though a tire rotation is included in the oil change, they never rotate your tires. I suspected that they weren't rotating them, so I put markings on my tire before taking it in for an oil change. My tires stayed in the same spot. They always pressure you into some other services, and when you decline, they get really upset. I understand stand that they are trying to do business, but customers have the choice to choose where and when they get a repair done. For the most part their staff is friendly. Most of their simple fixes have competitive pricing, but their tires are way more expensive than competitors. read more

Have been going here for years for a full service oil change. This includes full tire rotation. I have a marking on one tire and noticed that it had not moved, hence no tire rotation as promised. This happened last year and called them out on it, the tech then stated it did not need it based on the tread wear. Fast forward to today. Same marking on one tire, same thing, the tire did not move. This time I made sure and asked if they rotated the tires, they said they did. I told them about the marking and told them they had not. The asst. manager on duty (Mike I believe) seemed annoyed and told the techs to rotate them without admitting any fault on the shops end initially. Once they rotated the tires (for real this time), he said he will write them up and take care of it; he also gave a discount on the oil change (bill went from about 80 to 50). Asst. Manager seemed like he tried to fix it, but the damage was done. He said he will talk to store Mgr, etc also. Make sure you put a mark on your tire when you have them rotated! Well, I used to come here all of the time. However, the last time will be my last. I have purchased a new mitsubishi outlander sport and it came time for my first oil change (the car is brand new). The jerk at the counter had no personality and acted as if he didn't want to be there, signal number one. Then I told him that I had an appointment for an oil change. He pulled my info up and then promptly printed out a quote for $100 dollars, he then stated that my new car only takes "premium synthetic oil". Seeing as I had no idea I figured he knew best. After completion of the service I paid a bill of only $80 dollars ( he must have heard me on the phone talking about being raped for an oil change). I then proceeded to call my dealer thinking, "hey maybe I saved a few bucks". I'm the idiot, they quoted me at $30. I blame myself for my ignorance and the jerk behind the counter for lying to me. After our last oil change, and the curious lack of a sticker in the window and a protective cover on the carpet, we weren't sure the oil had actually been changed in my wife's vehicle. Yesterday we dropped it off for a tire rotation, overall inspection, and synthetic blend oil change. Prior to dropping it off, I scribbled on the filter with a Sharpie. $48 later, my filter still has Sharpie on it and they told my wife that our tires(with only 34,000 miles on them) were down to the cords and couldn't be rotated. The tires still have plenty of tread and aren't even close to the wear indicator. I have wasted at least $48 at this location and will never, ever return. Went in to have a tire checked and have my spare tire placed on. Was told I needed an alignment, new tire and at least 2 new wheels, that my rims were bent. But couldn't tell me what rims were exactly bent??? I ensured them i just had my tires rotated 2 weeks ago, and an alignment with new tires 5 months ago, and I have had no issues driving to notice an alignment issue. I was told " well potholes will do that" and continued to tell me I was wrong, despite me telling them I have had ZERO issues driving. Went to my usual car shop for a second opinion and was told that I did NOT need an alignment, nor were my rims bent enough to cause damage. I was only needing a new tire. Will not use Mr. Tire again. Helped me out with a strange one, a very small tubeless tire (from a blower) broke off the bead, so I couldn't inflate at home. Fixed it in 5 minutes and didn't charge me a dime! Thanks guys! read more

Worst place to go for an oil change. If you get a coupon through it away. Gave one to my son for $29. When he left he spent $990 on tires that were not rated for his car, wore out in 20,000 miles even though they were a 75,000 mile tire. Laughed when I complained about it. read more

I was contacted 3 weeks after my complaint by Mr. Tire's insurance company to investigate their negligence. Problem is I had to sell car since it didn't run any longer. Since I do not have the car, just the trade showing car had blown head gasket they wouldn't do anything. Mr. tire caused the damage, if they are recommending service get a second opinion, I paid $420 to have my car ruined. The managers don't have a clue. This location has gone down in service over the last 6 months with managers and technicians not being on the same page with what needs done. If you file a complaint be sure to keep your car so it can be looked at for a claim. They recommended I trade the car in, now I know why. read more

I would advise you not to go here, they have been trying to rip me off. I had a stripped bolt to my oil tank and they tried to get me to pay them $400 for a whole new oil tank, my oil tank doesn't even have rust on it. Complete nonsense. I said no and they said they put some kind of plug in that would break off into my engine resulting in breaking my car. I left immediately. I went to more trusted mechanics for my next oil change and they took the part out easily and gave me a new bolt for free! I just had to pay for the oil change which was 30 dollars. They said the part was easy to get out of my oil tank. These people were so mad at me for telling them no, it's very unprofessional to treat anyone like that. I have been taking my van here since I got it for oil changes. This year, a trusted mechanic has gone over my van twice in preparation for a trip to Florida. He fixed the problems he found. Mr. Tire says I need over $2100 worth of work done to my van. I immediately went to another trusted mechanic who told me that none of the repairs were necessary. I'm not sure if Mr. Tire sees a lone female and decides to take advantage of her, or if they simply try to scare everyone into expensive, unnecessary repairs. I had at 10:00 appointment for a half hour oil change. Two hours later after I ask how much longer it would take, they were finally done. I saw them empty the oil as soon as they brought the car in. The one guy was working on two cars at once and putting tires on rims. There was another guy there just walking back and forth looking at a printer. This was ridiculous. The lady ahead of me waited two hours also. I will never go back again. I give them a -5 rating. read more

He said he would refund so we could put it on the "drive card" which is a joke and then he says it will take a few weeks for us to get the refund. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I called up and asked them if I could schedule an alignment. We set a time for me to come in within two hours. When I got there they had the car up in less then 5 minutes after giving them the keys and I was out of there within an hour. It wasn't the cheapest place to get an alignment but I am willing to pay a little extra for great service. To be fair to Terry's Tire Town for those price crunchers out there they were still in the ball park (less than $5). read more

I chose this Mr Tire because it was pretty close to where I live. I purchased my tires from tire rack and brought them in for mounting and balancing on a different set of rims. The price overall was a few dollars more than the other places on the same street, but still competitive Mounting and balancing was done properly, but my new rims were white and they trashed them with dirt and grease.The tires and rims that were removed were tossed into my car with no bags. A little extra care and consideration for my vehicle would have earned them a return customer. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I have made the mistake and have paid excessively for it. If "zero star" was an option, I'd pick -10 stars. Not only has Mr. Tire put my life in danger by butchering any work they have done on my car, but they've done nothing but cause me more issues. I have a 2004 Volvo S60 and (by no mistake but my own) chose to take my car to Mr. Tire because it was within close proximity to my house. From oil changes, alignments, and new tires, to other work, including new coil springs, Mr. Tire has all but totaled my car. It started with a plastic covering underneath my car, which Mr. Tire reattached to the under-body with zip ties. While driving, the plastic covering came off and was dragging underneath my car. I had to pull over, cut it off, and throw it in my trunk only to then ignorantly take it back to Mr. Tire, believing they should fix it correctly. Unfortunately, they reattached the same plate with zip ties once again. Not long after, while I was driving on the highway going 70-75 mph, the plastic plate BLEW OUT from under my car, becoming a hazard to not just myself, but other passersby... Additionally, at some point, when I got new tires at Mr. Tire, the mechanics did not put the steering stops back on my car, which caused my turn radius to be entirely screwed. Without the steering stops, my tires rubbed the body of the car virtually every time I turned which resulted in me getting a flat tire and needing 4 new tires within less than a year of having already purchased 4 new tires... At this point, I finally decided to take my car somewhere else (something I should have done the second time the plastic covering flew off my car)... They also often suggested that my car needed an alignment because I "hit too many potholes." However, upon taking it to a more honest, family-owned garage (when I finally had enough sense to see Mr. Tire was ruining my car and by way, also my life), I found out that my ball joints were in horrible condition. According to this garage, a car cannot be aligned with bad ball joints, yet Mr. Tire continued to "align" my car. Now my steering wheel is cocked a little to the left and the car veers right when the steering wheel is put in its proper position... Finally, while my car was with more trustworthy mechanics, they discovered that Mr. Tire had put the wrong coil springs on my car, causing it to sit roughly 3 inches lower in the front than it should, inadvertently causing more scraping, bumping, and general disintegration of a once phenomenal car. While none of the actual damage done to my car by the mechanics at Mr. Tire is my fault, I do recognize that I should have never gone there and especially should have never continued to go there. However, having experienced this substandard work first hand, I urge any potential customers to turn around and run. Do not risk it. Do not even consider risking it. This place is not only unethical, but will run you dry if you let them. And unfortunately, I was stupid enough to let them because I'm too inexperienced in auto-mechanics to recognize when I'm being swindled until it's too late. If you have extremely minimal knowledge about cars, like myself, please do not take your car there, even if it's just for tires. They are dishonest and untrustworthy. And while it might appear from the comments that the corporate office will "make right" anything that is wrong, this is untrue, because I have been in prolonged contact with the corporate office, with the pipe-dream of getting at least a small sum of my thousands of dollars back. However, the only recompense they could offer in regard to the damage done to my car is to return it to the same Mr. Tire that caused this debacle in the first place so that they could attempt a fix. In addition, they only offered to pay for parts, not labor. They don't stand by their work, so don't think for a second that they do. If you are looking for a trustworthy, not-corporate auto mechanic that you can trust your car with, and you are in the Canton area, I'd suggest Top Value on Whipple Rd. There are upstanding mechanics there that you can wholeheartedly trust. read more

Took two different cars in for oil changes with coupons of a couple dollars difference amount and was charged the exact same rate. Got tired of the no personality staff and high prices here so decided to try somewhere new , and just found out that my oil drain plug has been stripped because it wasn't hand tightened.. Only place its been is MR. Tire! A new oil pan is $400. Will not be going here for service again. read more

Called several times and got the runaround. I finally went in and asked why they were still not done with the car. Manager showed an attitude and said he was done talking about. This is NOT the Terry's Tire Town of the past!! A GREAT shop always willing to help. It is a new company out of NY who discontinued free road hazard (now charges $92 for it), no longer balances tires for free (they charge), no longer offers on road service, and even took out the magazines and coffee machine from the waiting room. The old friendly workers are long gone - replaced with winers who blame corporate on the new lack of customer service. A shame to lose the great Terry's Tire. Worse yet having another tire that could care less about customer service. Never again. read more
