These guys are awesome. Thanks to all the construction in Ithaca, I found a huge screw in my tire one morning. Unfortunately these days new cars don't come with spares and I had to use a fix a flat kit because I had no other way to fix it (PSA: Only use fix a flat kits as a last resort--they gunk up the inside of the wheel and messes up your TPMS!!!) Every tire place I went to or called was exceptionally rude and said I would have to wait 3 hours. Mr Tire said they can do it in an hour and half. It was a quick drop off and I came back in 1.5 hours to a fixed tire. Huge thanks to Anthony for fixing and cleaning up all the fix a flat gunk. The guy manning the desk was super chill and nice too. I brought in 5 new trailer tires and five old tires on rims. No appointment, left all tires and rims and they called a couple of hours later to say they were all done. Very friendly and helpful. Price was best in town, work was very professional. I will definately recommend. read more

My wife and I went to another shop in town to have some brake work done. While there, the mechanic informed us that "someone sold you lemon tires"... We told him it was Mr. Tire down the road and he didn't seem the least bit surprised. He instructed us to get them changed as soon as possible and that any upstanding shop would likely replace the tires via the warranty although there is a chance they could try to give us a prorated replacement... (He said he would have replaced the bad tires had he sold them to us.) Before getting a chance to have them replaced we had a fairly severe medical emergency that made it hard for us to get into the shop let alone out of the house. While on a trip to the store to grab groceries fate forced our hand as the bad tires blew out from the dried cracking side wall (20,000 miles on the tires). The 'manager on duty' tried everything in his power to turn my wife away and was not even willing to abide by the warranty at all. She was rightfully upset by this and stepped outside so she could sit down and gather herself. Upon seeing my wife get completely shut down by this guy, I went in there to speak with him and see if there were any other options for us as far as warranty was concerned. He literally pointed to a small piece of paper on the wall with a phone number and told me "You can call that number if you need help" While I was inside waiting on hold for about 45 minutes to an hour... the 'manager on duty' and one of his employees went out, purposely moved a large truck with a V8 from the garage to a parking spot right next to wear my wife was sitting with the exhaust pointing directly at her. They then proceeded to purposely revv the engine as loudly as they could. The exhaust was making those snapping g and popping noises mere feet from my wife's face. I heard the loud motor thinking they were simply being immature grease-monkies, but they were essentially assaulting my wife. I didn't know this was happening until another customer came in and told me: "If I was you, I would have dragged the guy from over the counter and beat the ever-living snot* out of him." The person who I assume is the store manager has since called me but didn't seem to really care much about what happened. If you want to see the video of these 'men'(boys) while they were attempting to intimidate my wife, go on tiktok and check out 'drinbeingdrin'. She was simply filming to let people know how upset she was feeling when the guys from the shop showed their true colors and immaturity. The men working that day are truly pathetic and have guaranteed my family will never spend a dollar at Mr. Tire or any of it's parent companies or affiliates again... Monro I look forward to the generic response from the Mr. Tire customer service/manager... I'd be embarrassed to have a staff like that if it was my company. read more

When leaving work in Ithaca, I found a nail in my front tire. All the repair shops/garages in Ithaca close at 7:00 p.m, and I stopped at just about everyplace in Ithaca between 6:15-6:30 p.m. and nobody could repair my tire because they were all getting ready to close. I live in Elmira, and figured I would never get home that night. Finally, my last attempt was at Mr. Tire in Ithaca, and it was 6:50 p.m. Even though they close at 7:00 p.m., I walked in and explained my situation to Ramon Rodriguez at Mr. Tire, and told him I live in Elmira and really needed to get home and really needed my tire repaired. Ramon understood my urgency, and said he would fix my tire. Ramon stayed past 7:00 p.m. to fix my tire, when he could of just said he had to close and couldn't help. That is great customer service! Hard to find these days! I would highly recommend anyone to go here for any car repairs! And thank you Ramon, you are an asset to this company! read more

You be the Judge - Past Practice is the Best Predictor of Future Behavior I made an appointment at Mr. Tire Ithaca yesterday to have two tire rim slow Leaks fixed. I spoke with Angel. I explicitly said that the vehicle was a Sprinter 170 with 9' 3" clearance. Angle said "no problem, our garage doors are 12' tall, if it won't fit on the lift we can change the tires outside." I drove 20 minutes to Mr. Tire and when I walked in was told that they could not fix the tire because my vehicle wouldn't fit on the lift. Explained that Angel had said it can always be done outside. The Mr. Tire Manager said that Angel was the manager at the Monroe Tire outlet and was just filling in. I said, "OK, just do it outside." Was told, we don't work outside in the winter. (It was a clear day, 34 degrees, no wind.). The Mr. Tire manager proceeded to tell me that if I had a problem I needed to take it up with Angle. I Called Angel, who said that he couldn't fix the leaks at Monroe either because they "didn't have any jacks that would lift a van." Uh huh... a garage that doesn't have any roller jacks. He told me he had just gotten off the phone with the Mr. Tire Manager. When I said to both of them "Since you acknowledge that this is your mistake, what can you do to make it right", they both told me "Nothing". Since past practice is the best predictor of future behavior, you be the judge. They make the mistakes, they don't own them, they leave their customer hung out to dry. The irony is I needed four new tires and was intending to discuss purchase with them in the spring. Needless to say they will never see another dollar either from me, nor my wife that had used Mr. Tire in the past. read more

Chris at Mr Tire was amazing. I was visiting from the Buffalo area in a Saturday to attend a wedding later that day, when suddenly my starter on my car decided to quit and I was stuck 160 miles from home and with a wedding to attend that night. I had to leave the next morning and did not have accommodation to stay longer. Chris was really busy that day but took pity on my situation and was able to fix my car and get it back to me same day. I was able to attend the wedding and drive back to Buffalo. Chris was a real life saver. I cannot thank Chris and Mr Tire enough. Excellent service. read more

I was visiting my daughter in Ithaca and found myself with an almost flat tire due to a screw that had punctured it. I took my vehicle into Mr. Tire on a Saturday morning, worrying about whether or not anyone would be able to help me (I had to drive to Michigan the following day). Ran into a small issue with my 2020 GLS450. I had a screw embedded in the rear tire. After searching for a automobile technician and getting a run around, I happen to find Chris and Tim. Everyone was trying to sell me new tires for $$$$$ but these guys stepped outside, took a look and told me "we can fix it". I was so thankful for an honest answer that I offered them both lunch but they said no worries. They had our SUV done in an hour and charged a modest price. We were so relieved to know that there are still honest automobile technicians in the industry. Heading back to Maryland tomorrow with a peaceful mind. Absolutely terrible experience, they were in such a hurry to go home they never finished putting tire on car properly and almost was in a accident when the tire went completely flat right after we left Mr tire. They closed right after I left on Friday, then said they would fix when called Saturday morning. Monday came and they wanted nothing to do with us. In all my life I have never seen this in a business. More worried about going home on a Friday night then making sure customers are safe. read more

Totally incompetent! A $2000 disaster! It took more than 5 weeks for them to finish a repair they said they would finish in 1 day, and my car was returned totally trashed, with the carpet soaking wet with toxic antifreeze. The plastic trim inside the car was broken, and items were missing. Mr. Tire has been giving me the run around the whole time. There are many signs the mechanic was totally incompetent, including the fact that he disconnected heater hoses with antifreeze in them unnecessarily and then left the hoses leaking coolant in the interior of the car. I took my minivan to Mr. Tire on May 27 for AC service. The said an AC line was leaking and that they could fix it in 1 day for $900. Several days later, I had to postpone my vacation because the car was not finished. The manager told me the mechanic was not reliably showing up to work. A week or two later, the manager told me the mechanic had lost a part (a metal bracket) and could not find it for sale, so he had to make the part. But then, the home made part did not work. It went on like this. Around June 30, they told me the car was back together, but the AC still was not working, and that it needed a different part. I bought the part at autozone for $300 and they installed it. Finally, the AC was working on July 4. I picked up the car, and it was completely trashed inside near where they were working on the AC unit in the back of the car. Several pieces of the plastic interior trim and the headliner were covered with grease, and two pieces of trim were broken. It appears the mechanic tried to "repair" one piece of broken trim by trying use a big metal screw to screw it down. He didn't try to fix the piece of trim that holds the cupholder-- he just left it unattached. A rechargeable flashlight that was built into the trim was missing, and two sets of bluetooth headphones that go to the built-in DVD were missing. Worse than all of that, the carpet was completely soaked with antifreeze, and the car smelled terrible inside. I could hear squirting fluid when I revved the engine. I used to work as a mechanic, and I removed the trim to see what was leaking. It was a heater line that should have never been disconnected! Underneath the carpet, I found not only my flashlight, but a giant pry bar, that was (inexplicably) used to remove the delicate plastic trim. The coolant was pooled an inch deep in the area behind the back seats, and it had soaked the carpet and soundproofing material around all 4 rear seats. The manager agreed that this was a completely unacceptable repair job, and he said he would refund as much of my money as Mr. Tire corporate offices would allow and buy new trim, but that was a month ago and Mr. Tire has been giving me the run around. I ended up having to buy a carpet cleaning machine and have spent more than 30 hours cleaning up this mess. My interior trim is still broken. There is an unexplained $600 charge on the invoice for parts, and they have done absolutely nothing to address the damage. read more

I took my car to Mr. Tire of Ithaca for an inspection. They informed me that I needed new rear break pads and rotors which I expected. After looking it over they informed me that my car required $1,500 worth of work. About $500 of it wasn't relevant to passing my inspection (tire rotation, alignment, brake flush). What I am most disgusted with is they told me I needed a new rear coil spring and quoted me $300 for parts and labor. I took my vehicle to a different mechanic outside Ithaca and asked for an inspection without telling them about my previous quote. They quoted me less than $500 for new rear break pads and rotors as well as a new belt. I asked specifically about my rear coil spring and I was told it was "perfectly fine". Don't waste your time and money at Mr. Tire of Ithaca. read more

Todd was an angel from heaven. My windshield wiper transmission needed to be replaced--I was driving with just the passenger side wiper working, which, on a rainy day was not safe. After receiving an $400 estimate, I was nearly in tears. Todd offered to wire the wiper up until a more permanent solution could be afforded. Todd not only wired the wiper up, he figured out a more inexpensive way to rig the wiper so it would worker for a long period of time. The time and kindness will never be forgotten. Had my tires and break changed here, came back for oil change recently. Both of the times, i was satisfied: very competitive price, and reliable service. The bonus is they open on Sat until 7pm, super easy to make online appointment. Staff is friendly but they did recommend some extra work to be done. Service could be really slow sometimes. read more

These guys are great. I've gotten several tires changed here and they're always helpful and never try to rip me off. I purchase my tires online and then bring them here to be installed and they never have a problem. I had an alignment done elsewhere and they took the time to show me under the car what to look for to make sure the other company really did things the way they're suppose to.
