delightful place to get your Christmas Tree. Take the family. We have been going here about 12 years. It has been a family business for over 50 years. One can feel that it is a labor of love. After you pick your tree you can visit the petting barn. Sometimes Santa is there for pictures. This is a wonderful barn with friendly animals the children will adore. We always find that special tree for our home. Brent the owner is very hardworking and we enjoy talking with him every year. Our yearly visit is now a family tradition.

This was two weeks after brining it home. Dropped almost all it's needles.

Timbuk Farms - $1 per stem, we found some beauties

It's YE Gurl, here for the flowers and the life lessons in bloom…read more Timbuk Farms Tulip Festival Granville, OH 4/27/2025 After hearing the buzz (and spotting a few too many pastel-clad photo dumps on Instagram), I finally made my way to Timbuk Farms' Tulip Festival--and it did slightly disappoint. Think of it as Ohio's most photogenic meeting of the minds: aspiring influencers, local families, plant-loving aunties, and at least one goat that clearly thinks it's in charge. The farm setup is charmingly chaotic in the best way: hay towers, bouncy castles, cardboard cut-outs, and a lineup of goats ready to be hand-fed at 50 cents a handful. Rows upon rows of tulips in full bloom awaited us, $1 a stem. It's part aesthetic, part strategy--because yes, the seasoned grannies will coach you on the art of pulling bulbs with stems intact. (Pro tip: look for those slightly opened blooms if you want better replanting success.) We caught the tail end of the season, so while I wasn't dressed like a walking Pinterest board, I got the full experience. Dirt under my nails, sun on my face, and a haul of 18 vibrant tulips for $19.31. The wait to check out was a little steamy--sun beating down, line inching slowly--but it gave me a chance to eavesdrop on gardening tips and admire a dog wearing flower crowns. There are also food trucks and coffee carts if you need a break, and plenty of plants and bulbs for sale if you're looking to extend your floral moment beyond the bouquet. Just a heads-up: parking is gravel-based, bumper-to-bumper, and you'll probably end up next to a pickup truck with a decal that reads "I only stop for tulips." Welcome to the Midwest. Would I go back? Absolutely--only next time I'm dressing for the photo ops and the heat.

There were a ton of cute photo opportunities and my son had a great time. The property itself is gorgeous and I would recommend if you are looking to buy a Christmas tree or plant as they had a large greenhouse selection. However when I think of a festival I imagined vendors with unique lavender products to purchase or food. Maybe my expectations were too high but I was a little underwhelmed.

We've always had a real tree,…read moreand there is something special about walking through the rows and picking the perfect one. Its even better if its in the snow (sorry dad!). If you're not into the whole sawing thing, they do have precut ones that you can choose from up near the front. But at least walk through and take a look. They have saws that you can rent or you can bring your own if you have a favorite. The family is friendly and sometimes the family dog will run around with you and help you pick out the best tree. They will bag it up and help you load it up. Its a great place to make a new tradition of going and cutting down a beautiful tree that will make your whole house feel like Christmas!

I was surprised to find that any pine tree you cut is $25. I am used to paying $35-$50 for a nice tree and having to check the price tag every time I find one that I like. Not worrying about price was a nice change, so I could focus on the best tree for my needs. In my previous experiences, I am used to having to wait for a beat up old school bus to pick me up, cutting a tree, then waiting in the cold to be picked up again. In this case, you just get a cart, hike up the hill, cut your tree, then bring it back down. It's not a very large farm, so you don't have to worry about hiking long distances, and the way back is downhill, so you don't have to lug the tree uphill or anything. When I got back to the main building, I was surprised to find that they do not take credit cards, so BRING CASH! We walked into their shop, that has long, collapsible tables for sitting and having free hot chocolate and boxed cookies, and a fake fireplace at the end. They sell second hand Christmas decorations for as little as $.10 on up as well as some collectables and antiques, but I didn't notice many hand made decorations, or fresh wreaths or anything. Altogether it was a nice experience, but I will probably continue looking for a nicer place to cut a tree, and sit by the fire or shop hand made decorations afterwards. But if I can't find something really nice, I won't have a problem coming back.

August 1, 2025, I'm coming in to purchase a new garage door and opener. I could have gone to Menards or Home Depot, but I normally leave Lowe's confident because unlike the others mentioned, I get assistance. I go to my area and there is no one in or around that aisle. I see a staff member walking by and ask if he could page someone back to the garage door area. While I'm waiting I hear staff members being paged to other areas. Ok they are busy today. I continue to wait. I know what door we want but let me I find out which opener will work for us. They had two brands with three models for each. I'm looking up the power of the doors and the other features, WiFi, back up battery, keypads. I'm getting excited because my garage door opener hasn't worked in years. I continue to hear more pages overhead, but I understand that people get busy and sometimes you have call offs. I'm still gung ho that my front door will no longer be the main source of entry and shoes can be removed at the garage door. I look at my watch and realize that I've been waiting for 35 minutes. My excitement and confidence turns into annoyance. So bad that I start talking to myself. "Are telling me, I'm trying to make a big purchase and I need my husband to be taken seriously." I was on fumes!!!! I left my cart in the aisle and started walking to my car. I was pissed so my pace was fast, but on my way out the door I saw the manager's picture and telephone number so I stopped and took a picture. Oh they were going to hear from me! I got my picture and started for my car, again at a fast pace because I am boiling. I get to my car and I hear someone ask me, "Ma'am is everything okay? Did you get what you needed?" I am mad and then I'm a single woman in the parking lot, so my defense grew. Trying to increase the distance between us while trying to understand him, I know my facial expression was crazy, but he continued to defuse me. Once I focused on his face, realized that he was the young man in the picture I just took. I went from feeling ignored and not being seen to be extremely valued. He didn't have to show that much initiative. He cared like this was his personal business and his reputation was on the line. I've been in customer service all of my life. Starting as a newspaper carrier to now being a nurse. Customer service isn't what it used to be. That managers name is Yves Fortune and yes I'm posting his picture so that there is no mistake of who he is. Needless to say that he defused me and I returned and made my purchase. Robert Schobert, who was on his lunch break, took over from the young man who was trying to answer my questions. Robert was very knowledgeable and helped me to make wise decisions on my purchases. I walked out feeling as confident and happy as I initially did when I first entered the building. Thank you so much guys.
