24/7???? Yes yes yes! Modesto is LUCKY to have this gem! Funny because there's a Dunkin' Donuts right across the street, but come on.. support local businesses and come here instead! ~$9 for a dozen donuts and it is not just a dozen glaze or plain donuts. You can actually choose different flavors/ kinda. For example: I had an Oreo donut in one of the four dozen donuts I ordered. Yes, I ordered four dozen! It was to say thanks to some amazing people out in Modesto. What I love about Mr. T's Donuts is that they aren't TOO sweet. My friend and I ordered one of their big maple donut with sprinkles, and usually, maple donuts are super sweet but nope, not Mr. T's! Blueberry Fritter - 5 - crispy on the outside, loaded with whole blueberries on the inside. As soon as she took the first bite in the car, I could smell the blueberries! Apple Sauce Donut - 5 - subtle. Just enough cinnamon to let you know what you were eating without being overwhelming. Chocolate Old Fashioned - 5 - probably my least favorite of the box but note it still received a top rating because it was on point and yummy. Apple Fritter - 5 - also crispy on the outside, soft and moist inside. Missing chunks of apple though. Mango Jelly Filled - 5 - sugar filled sugar. Omg! I'll be running laps in my head after this one! Glazed French Cruller - 5 - usually my go to donut. Having it last made it anti-climatic however it was light and airy. After spending a great Thanksgiving with family in Modesto, 6 of us were getting ready to head home in 2 cars, one going Seattle and the other to the Olympia area, 'non-stop', all 810 miles. Even though I don't particularly care to get up at O-dark-thirty, in order to minimize hitting heavy traffic in Portland we decided to leave at 3:30 AM on a Saturday morning. So the Friday before, I was assigned the task to buy something to eat Saturday morning while on the road. It so happens that our all-time family standby for something easy and filling without slowing us down is of course donuts, so our relatives highly recommended Mr. T's without question. So I head over in the early Friday afternoon and find a short line of folks being waited on. While I'm standing there I see my all-time favorite, Apple Fritters. Fritters are also everyones fav in our northern bound caravan with the exception of our 6 year old granddaughter who proclaimed she wanted a chocolate covered donut. So when it was my time to order I asked for 5 fritters and the chocolate covered donut. Everything was all boxed up and ready for me to pay when I saw the NO CREDIT CARDs sign, and right next to it, another sign stating no cash denominations greater than $20! I fully understand and actually support business owners who want to keep pricing down by not marking prices up in order to offset the fees they must pay to the credit card company. In fact I wish more companies did that so people understand that despite what the credit card companies want you to think; that the cards are 'free' of added charges, because they are not. So whether you like it or not everyone is paying at least an extra 3-4% 'hidden' charge that is built into the price of the product or service being purchased where credit cards are opening accepted. Sorry for getting side-tracked, but credit cards are pet peeve of mine, especially where people who do not understand 'the game' are involved. Anyway, since I can't use my credit card I open up my wallet to look for cash and the only bill I have in it is $50. I immediately think I'm hosed and I'll have to go into exile to escape the family wrath. That's when I decide to fess up to the pretty young lady at the cash register and tell her I'm from out of town and didn't know of this unusual restriction. She says no problem. Please let me explain the situation to my manager, which she did and the manager gave her a green light, so I'm golden again. I leave Mr. T's with a big smile on my face and can't wait to see the look on our granddaughter's face when she opens the box back at home. She had the biggest grin on her face as she lifted the lid, her eyes as big as silver dollars. I asked if I did good and she gave me a double . I was her hero. So after all this, and not to mention this wordy essay about Mr. T's, suffice it to say that the Apple Fritters were perfectly made and tasted great early Saturday morning, and our granddaughter was more than happy to report that she loved her chocolate covered donut VERY MUCH. Good job Mr. T's! You can't go wrong at this place I believe is family owned and operated. Sure wish I had captured a photo of that sign though. Sorry folks. read more

I haven't lived in the area in many years but one thing that is always true. If I am going to Modesto, I am checking out Mr. Ts. There is quite a bit of nostalgia locked up with this place visiting it throughout my high school and early college years. Even so, I feel like I can still say that they are the best donut shop in the valley. While they don't have the "fancy" donuts you see down in socal or in the bay, the tried and true classics are what really set this place apart. There is no need for gimmicks when you get a fresh melt in your mouth chocolate raised donut. Also the fact that this place is still 24 hours a day and always seem to have people ordering is really a testament to the institution that this place has become. Quality of service went down I had went to get donuts for me and coworkers for work in the morning and the lady that was working the front was rude . She made me feel rushed with my order not to mention made me walk out with only half of a box of donuts. Both of my boxes were half empty . I am very disappointed. Tried this donut shop while waiting fir a table at Modesto Sukiyaki. Located in the same shopping center. I was amazed at the vast selection and it is open 24 hrs - that's crazy. The donuts are excellent. Light, not greasy or heavy. I had the cocnut cream and bavarian cream. They were excellent. The cream filling was not too sweet and complimented the very light donut.
