The best Chinese food around. I moved to Allentown 4 years ago and have tried countless spots and been disappointed until I found MR. WONTON!!! The staff are above and beyond friendly, always helpful in explaining dishes and courteous with making adjustments per your request. They have the best crab Rangoon I've ever had too! My go to is the shrimp with garlic sauce, I usually ask for only broccoli but now and then have all the mixed veggies. We have tried countless dishes and have no been disappointed yet, I guarantee you won't be either, give them a try! read more

General tsos was just average not crispy, lo mein had no flavor but did have lots of vegetables. Dumplings and crab Rangoon was average. Nothing to write home about. read more

We order take out Chinese food quit often but when we opened our container of sliced beef with snow peas every piece of beef was grisly and fatty. It was like you were chewing a rubbery substance. I felt we should call Mr Wonton to make them aware of this bad batch of meat but upon speaking to the manager, he said it was just corn starch it was coated with? I assured him it was not just corn starch but that it was gummy, rubbery and fatty which I had thrown away because it actually was disgusting. He did not reconcile the situation at all....so we will never order from there again. Good luck if you do! read more

Plus the family is so sweet, very accommodating and no matter how large our order, is always ready in under 20 minutes. Every few weeks we order take out from Mr. Wonton. They are fast and efficient. One of my Favorite parts about this location opposed to the other numerous take out places in the area is the cleanliness. In addition, their food never disappoints. I think my favorite dish here are the boneless spareribs and cold sesame noodles. Last but not least, this Chinese food spot has more traditional meals to offer as well. I swear this places hate when you come in for lunch because they are prepping for dinner I ordered tofu and baby shrimp. What turned me off the most was the fact that they used frozen peas and carrots mix from a grocery store. Meal was ready in seconds The tofu must have been throw in at the last minute because the only way to eat it was with a plastic spoon. Sorry but no effort at all. How have I not discovered this place until now?! Used to live in Old Town apartments in walking distance and never tried this goldmine. After moving and limited satisfaction with other local Chinese I hit up Yelp for some assistance and man did Mr. Wonton deliver (literally and figuratively) .... there has not been one thing myself or family have had that wasn't fresh and top notch. Moo Goo Gi Pan is great, Chicken and Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, Sweet and Sour Chicken, scallion pancake and did I mention the clearly homemade dumplings (fried or steamed). They are very accommodating, for example, I have a peanut allergy and offered to cook food in a different oil/listened closely to what I ordered. It definitely is more of a takeout/delivery joint than dine in, however. Don't let the simple appearance fool you. They know what they're doing. read more

I live in the neighborhood nearby this hidden gem and decided to try it after hearing that the owners of Peking in Trexlertown sold their restaurant. All I can say is WOW! So delicious. In fact this may be some of the best Chinese food that I've tasted. Keep up the great work! read more

I really liked this place the first couple of times my husband and I ordered food from here but my husband wasn't 100% sold. We really enjoy fried dumplings but the dumplings here are really doughy and are soggy on the side that isn't fried. The last time I ordered here, they made me the wrong chicken dish. It was 8pm and I had just worked all day and didn't want to wait for them to remake it. I was really hesitant to take the dinner they had made and after I finally decided to take it the way it was, they still charged me full price. Came to town on business. This place was close to my hotel and I needed to grab a quick dinner. Overall it is okay. Of all places to eat since we moved here 2 years ago, this is the one we eat from the most. What can I say, yummy Chinese delivery at a good price is just so easy. The sweet and sour sauce is the right consistency, the meat is always tender and the entrees are filled with the good stuff and not overrun with fillers like celery etc. read more

I've now visited Mr. Wonton 4 times. I'm getting different dishes and still continue to be awed at the fantastic quality, speed and courtesy. I wish they'd have a better dining area--it's chilly and small, but ALWAYS CLEAN as is the bathroom. I guess it's more of a take out place, but I can never wait so I just eat in! Most importantly, the food is fast and predictably amazing. I'm talking big portions, juicy chicken, never over cooked, lots of big, bright green broccoli and other veggies, amazing, big, generous shrimp, perfect noddles, great-tasting sauces. This place just doesn't disappoint and the price is fantastic. For $20, I can get two platters, an appetizer, two bottles of water, and still need a to go container. This place is the real deal. Mr. Wonton has some of the best chinese food around. Nothing in the area holds a candle to them, actually. 9 out of 10 times you're going to get a well-made meal. I only ordered two dishes so I cannot comment on the full menu. The Triple Delight was very good and had lots of fresh ingredients. Their Kung Pau chicken however was quite disappointing as the chicken pieces were a bit small and the dish was 50% celery.....all things considered not terrible for rural PA takeout Chinese food. read more

Just moved to the area and looking for the elusive very good Chinese food. Based on the reviews tried this. Ordered general and sesame chicken which were basically the same dish with different color sauce and obviously sesame seeds. The fried rice was so dry it choked us. I placed an order for delivery and they messed up my order. (My company orders from them quite often). So when I called and advised them they messed it up they were rude and told me what they gave me is what I ordered. I have my own catering business on the side and I would never treat my customers the way they did. After speaking with 2 people they would not fix my order and I told them I would bring the food back instead of having the delivery driver come back (which he was very nice!) if they could make what I ordered. I will never order from them again. I will go to China House down the street. Their food and customer service is great! read more

My review is a bit mixed. I came in for a sit down and was a bit confused as to what the owner was asking me I wanted. After ordering the soup came out in a to go container hotter than one would have wanted. The hot and sour soup was dreadful but the general PSO chicken and fried rice was amazing.
