I was craving beef and broccoli with a side of egg roll, $20.00 later I get an egg roll that is steaming hot on a styrofoam plate. The styrofoam plate was melting from the heat of the egg roll, meaning the chemicals seeped on my food, the beef wasn't bad, but the broccoli seemed old because quite a few crowns were yellow and it was undercooked,the side of rice was cold. I took a break from driving to sit down and eat, I ordered the food thinking it's going to be great from the photos and reviews on yelp, after I ordered I wanted to wash my hands, but the bathroom had an out of order sign on it. Food r a sit down restaurant that is odd and the AC was off. For an 80+ degree weather to sit Ian's eat with unwashed hands, food served completely different from what I saw on yelp. It was an experience that I would not repeat. I don't recommend this place because of the Service and the fact that they're serving hot food that just came out of the fryer on the Styrofoam plate plates. read more

I'll make this quick. Food tasted fine, but if you're expecting chicken with your chicken dishes, make sure to bring your magnifying glass. There was so little of it in the Chicken Mei Fun and Moo Shu Chicken that I threw 75% of it away after portioning out just ONE serving. Talk about cheap skates looking to save money at the customers' expense. If I wanted a plain pile of rice noodles or a batch of plain shredded cabbage I wouldn't have paid for a CHICKEN dish. The sweet and sour chicken was fried nicely, but the chicken inside was hard, dry and overcooked. This place can't (and apparently doesn't) do protein. As an exception, the Chicken with Chinese Vegetables had a reasonable amount of chicken. However, 1 out of 4 dishes doesn't cutr it. Not worth risking another disappointing takeout. This is an excellent Restaurant, primarily take out. I recommend the Thai. However, the Capital Chicken is exceptional, and they will make a Capital Tofu for you with Crispy sesame tofu substitute for chicken. Small and clean mom-&-pop type of place. They have a Chinese menu (in Chinese; no English) for more traditional dishes upon request. I asked for what is fresh and on this visit, I ordered saute snow pea sprouts with garlic and stir fried shredded pork and bean curd (spicy). OK! You want a quick bite, saw a Chinese food place, and thought "YEAH! I COULD GO FOR SOME CHINESE FOOD!" Well, you're in luck. I'm here to offer you a review, so please stick around. To get things out of the way, yes, I did put 3 stars, but don't think of 3 stars as a bad thing. If you want Chinese takeout, you should give this place a shot. I think people go overboard with these ratings, 3 stars shouldn't be a bad thing--the average should be 3 stars, but people go around handing out 5s and 1s all willy nilly. Here's my definition: 5=Amazing 4=Good 3=Average/To be Expected 2=Bad 1=Please Avoid. If I were to have my way with ratings, Evergreen Chinese Restaurant would be a solid (5.5/10) 10=AMAZING 9=Great 8=Very Good 7=Good 6=Alright 5=Average/Meh 4=Borderline 3 2 & 1=No go NOW for the actual restaurant review... I tend to withhold my opinion on a restaurant if I haven't visited at least twice. This is to help ensure that my experience isn't just a fluke. The food is to be expected; It's good ol' Chinese take out. The quality is pretty consistent, but the prices however, are very good. As to be expected, the ambiance is that of a typical Chinese takeout restaurant (that 80s kind of light up sign showing different dishes, and a stylized wallpaper), but the couple who run the restaurant are very nice. If you've read all the way to this, WOW! You're amazing, and you should send me a friend request. To end, please don't take my 5.5/10 rating as something negative. People tend to think that a 10/10 is the only acceptable rating, but that's just wrong, a 5/10 should stand for average. As a review writer and not even a real food reviewer, we should take into account that people work hard to create restaurants, run them, and cook food. The least we can do is to offer a non-biased and fair review, and a 5.5/10 shouldn't be symbolic of being bad. That's all I have to really say about this place. This is one of my favorite Chinese takeout places in town and not only is it convenient as close to my house and work but the food is good. I go there quite often for lunch on regular workday and the lunch specials are cheap and they get a lot. Hands down, I haven't found one that could beat it nearby. The owner is young couple who took over business couple years ago and very nice folks which me and my wife got to know well past year. Very hard working and honest people. They actually improved over previous owner food quality and experience. Ive love their hot and sour soup which is not like other takeouts. If you're lover hot and sour, you'll know what I mean. GOT ILL I recently ate and got a bad case of sickness. We are in Covid times so maybe the food is hanging around a bit too long. I called #1 to warn them perhaps proceed with caution on the Shrimp (only thing I ate). They told me the "manager" would call me back. After 24 hours I called again. The manager would call me back. He finally called me back. Told me to return bad food. REALLY how is a customer to know the food is bad till after they consume it. After I had gotten sick I told my family not to eat 2 unopened other meals. The manager calling from a different location said they would replace the unopened meals. I called the restaurant to have them replaced but the woman at the counter said " I will give you a refund for the 2 other dinners since you do not like our food won't replace" | OMG they took no responsibility to their customers. I use to go only to this restaurant since it opened up. They have changed owners and I find the new owners rude & greedy. I cannot believe how they treat customers with I don't care attitude. I am the one suffering, still on a toilet 2 days later. Another call to my physician. Wish they still had the original owners that cared for the customers. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They lost me and if you have a problem they simply do not care. I will be sharing this experience to all I know. No longer recommend. I don't want to play Russian roulette with my health read more

Not too shabby - sometimes I pick up lunch here. Food is pretty good and the lunch specials are very reasonably priced. Service is really fast, lady behind the counter was all smiles...that always gets big points with me. I don't mind tipping for take out if they're really nice!! The pork and vegetable lo meins were probably the best we've had, perfectly cooked and delicious, at a fair price. The only slight draw back was the amount of pork, delicious, but not as much as you'd expect. The sweet and sour chicken was very good, certainly above average quality. Rolled in to town and found this restaurant using Yelp. The layout of the place is standard order/takeout with a few tables. Menu has a ton of dishes available. I ordered Szechuan Chicken. My wife ordered the Chef's Special Coconut Shrimp. Also, Hot & Sour soup, Wonton soup, and Crab Rangoons. The Coconut Shrimp was fantastic! All items we ordered were made with the freshest and greatest variety of ingredients I've ever seen at a Chinese restaurant! But, the Hot & Sour soup and Szechuan Chicken lacked heat. Very little sour in the soup. Wonton soup and Rangoons were standard fare compared to other places I've eaten. Coming back to the quality ingredients, they stole the show. Good restaurant overall. Family run business with delicious fresh food that is not too oily and not too heavy with sauce! The wife runs the register while the husband cooks. Occasionally, when they are short staffed or their kids aren't home from college, the husband also is the delivery guy (don't know how exactly they juggle that). I don't think they are particularly fast, but it's worth waiting for. I've been to a ton of Chinese restaurants and I live in Philadelphia, so I have access to tons of restaurants, but whenever I'm visiting my parents, Evergreen is always great trip out. It is family run and so the speed in which you get your food isn't very fast on a busy night but it is reassuring to know that where I am getting my food is from a clean facility. Pick up is best on busy night. They are very accommodating when you need to change anything on the menu (like the sauce type or the spiciness of a dish) and their price is very reasonable. My favorite has always been their beef with scallions; I think that is one of their best dishes they serve. If you are trying something new, give that dish a try. One of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. The food is always great quality. The sauce for the General Tso chicken and shrimp is amazing with slight fruity overtones, I could drink it. Their beef is always tender. The garlic sauce dishes have delicious vegetables, all of Their mixed vegetables dishes are delicious. Their beef and mixed vegetables have a nice brown sauce. All of Their sauces are fantastic. Their low mein is one of the best the noodles have great texture and a fresh flavor. The same goes for the udon too. The eggrolls have a nice crispy crust and perfectly seasoned filling. The people are friendly. Also my family DOES NOT feel sick after eating their, even if we have too much. Just tried this place for the first time and was very impressed. We sampled a little of everything: general tso's chicken, egg rolls, dumplings, sweet & sour chicken, beef & broccoli and the pork lo mein. Everything tasted fresh and had wonderful flavor. Our delivery was so quick that we actually had to wait for the food to cool off a bit before diving in. A complimentary side of Chinese donuts rounded off the meal.
