Then I tried the spicy tuna pizza which was overall bland, but the scallion pancake the tuna was on was really good, and I ordered some dumpling sauce to dip it all in to give it more flavor which definitely helped. DO NOT EAT HERE! I always give good reviews to small business owners and small restaurants. When i have bad experience at a small restaurant i just choose not to leave a review. But this place was horrible! The food tasted really bad. I tried general tso's chicken which looked or tasted ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like general tso's chicken. The shrimp lo mein was overcooked and tasted horrible. Their customer service was 50-50. Restaurant was very poorly lit, dark and shabby. Looked quite dirty because there was all sorts of junk that they ought to store in the back right at the front of the restaurant where people are supposed to sit. There were kids lying on the booths (where customers are supposed to sit) and playing on their iPad. The food was delivered to our car because we didn't want to sit in the dark and dirty interior. Update: We have ordered from here allot over the last 10 years and always had a great meal. This last time was the worst meal of my life. Everything we ordered tasted like it had been re used or left out. Fried rice tasted dried and burnt. We ordered chicken lo mein and the smell coming from it reminded me of rotten meat. Everyone in my family had Gi symptoms by the end of the night. Such a shame I am told they are under new management. Proceed at your own risk. We used to love this place but the quality and taste of the food has gone so far down hill. I ordered a Jack roll and Shredded garlic pork, not only did I tell her verbally, but showed her on the menu and pointed at it so she could see it. But she still gave me the wrong thing. That being said she gave me garlic shrimp with broccoli instead with the jack roll, I would've returned it but I didn't check what she gave me because I was in a rush. The garlic shrimp i've had it like a million times it's the same each time 6/10, The Jack roll 7.8/10 pretty good. The place looked decent in the inside but the outside looked old. Stopped here because of the 4+ star rating on Yelp. The customer service was excellent! The food was average. I ordered the chicken and broccoli that comes with white rice. The rice tasted like day old rice (at least). I grew up on rice almost daily so I know rice. The chicken had a slimy texture...imagine a baby oil or Vaseline texture...Yuck! Don't order the chicken!! I'm sure it's not chicken!! The broccoli was crunchy and brown sauce had good flavor. We also ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer...it was meh! In a follow up, I came here to order sushi entrees to go and can say that it all looked great. I got the spicy combo which comes with soup and salad. I would definitely recckmend. It was a lot of money for ok Chinese. They do something to PUFF the chicken, which gives it a weird texture. I was not a fan that they did not offer a charge to substitute the rice out in their dinners to a fried option, even for a cost. Which was frustrating especially when it is all packaged separately. The family was on vacation , leaving me home to work on a painting project that I promised to complete. Having worked extra hard, I decided to treat myself to a shave, shower and some sushi. I headed straight for Rice Fam... a very wise decision (Confucius would have been proud)... I ordered the Deluxe sushi entree and also the "Lamb Two Ways". The staff was very attentive and pleasant. Chinese noodles and duck sauce hit the table almost immediately upon my seating. Drink order also came quickly. The sushi platter was fresh and elegantly presented. Wasabi was KILLER hot (just the way I like it) and the tuna roll was awesome! The Lamb Two Ways was very good, although it could have been just a bit spicier. I don't hold it against them though. I asked for medium heat, which is very subjective. I'm sure they erred on the side of caution so as to not rip my face off with spice. I enjoy very much the food here. Because I occasionally friends in the area, recently, I had been back, and I still enjoy it. My tastes are simple: rolls: tuna, salmon, avocado, California, yellow tail, (regular and/or spicy versions). I especially like the proportion. I ask for less rice. The amount of fish is not stingy. The prices are reasonable. (I don't do the complicated rolls only because of the sauces, for health reasons. So I can't speak to those.) By far the best Chinese/Japanese restaurant we have sampled in the area. Wonton and Hot and Sour soups were delicious. Beef on a stick appetizer had pineapple chunks on the skewer and were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I tried the white tuna sashimi to sample the sushi bar! Very fresh, with an artful presentation! Wife had Mongolian lamb and I had Hot Lovers Triple Treat. Both dishes were plentiful and well seasoned. The brown rice was perfect! Not too hard, not too squishy! The prices are very reasonable and the service was outstanding! Bring your own bottle and it's a perfect evening! 10/10 ordered the Happy Family and Szechuan Lamb with Shrimp Fried Rice and two egg rolls to go! Got home and was quite happy with everything! Just ordered takeout sushi from Rice Family for the first time tonight and we were very pleased! Ordering by phone was straightforward and I've read that they also have online ordering available through their website. My Romantic Roll with spicy, crunchy tuna inside and tuna outside was shaped into the cutest heart. Truly a romantic pick if you were going for that on a date night or for a romantic dinner. Sweet potato tempura is a test roll I usually get and they did a perfect job. It was warm and the tempura still had some crunch; sweet potato cooked to perfection. My husband enjoyed his rolls as well but found the Lehigh Valley roll to be a little too big for his liking (I tried it and while it was big, I really liked it and might get it next time). They included an ample amount of wasabi with our orders which was a plus. We're new to the area so we will probably try some other places as well and see how Rice Family stacks up, but their certainly a contender for becoming a go-to! read more

Let me just say, as a transplant from outside the area, there are quite a few things I just totally don't understand about the LV. First of all, scallion pancakes are basically a staple where I'm from (New England). For the past two years I have been sick and tired of driving half an hour to Mr. Wonton for scallion pancakes that, while they do satisfy my cravings, are often overcooked. Don't even get me started on the "scallion pancake" that they serve at Griddle 145... what a sorry excuse... Most of the Chinese food around here is just disappointing. Not true of Rice Family, which clearly understands the benefits of a more developed menu selection, with some fusion options and excellent quality. I did enjoy the Thai place that previously occupied this building as it made it much easier for me to access mango sticky rice and drunken noodles when I had *those* kinds of cravings. However, I'm way more excited that Rice Family has opened just down the street from my home, significantly cutting my commute time to scallion pancakes. So, kudos to Rice Family!!! I will be a regular customer and will do my best to ensure that this place stays in business. Applause all around. The only other Chinese place that I'll continue to visit is Red Hot, and that's just because of their cumin beef. read more
