Everyone that works here is great and they have no problem with kiddos running around trying to touch every toy. Most, if not all, of the clothes were organic and most were Fair-Trade certified. I like that almost all of the clothes were gender neutral and plain, not filled with TV characters. The clothes here are definitely in the higher price range for children's clothes but I appreciate the quality and love that many of the clothes are Fair-Trade. I'd love to see some Made in U.S.A. brands as well and I hope that the owner will consider adding some of those in the future. I'm very excited about this lovely addition to downtown Ballston Spa.

The Creamery took over the former Ben & Jerry's spot right on the main drag, which is prime real estate for anyone looking to capture the summer crowd. It is a sharp, convenient setup. The ice cream served here comes from Perry's, a classic Upstate New York staple. It is a solid, completely respectable regional brand. Perry's makes good commercial ice cream that does its job without pretense. It will not cause you to re-evaluate your life or forget every artisanal batch you have ever tasted, but it satisfies a craving reliably well. One quick operational note for families: there is no soft serve here. That detail will be of critical importance to certain family members who view soft-serve availability as a non-negotiable right. This is strictly hard-scooped territory. What the counter lacks in soft serve, it makes up for in variety and toppings. Our son selected Cookie Monster, a bright blue concoction that seems engineered specifically to make a kid happy. They also handle the classics, along with sundaes that turn a basic scoop into a multi-napkin project. The service was fast and friendly. When a family collectively decides that ice cream has become an immediate emergency, nobody wants a long wait or a complicated ordering system. You order, get your cup or cone, and step outside. The best feature of the property is the outdoor seating area. Cate has already mastered red sauce Italian food, a quick serve pizza and cafe place, and an ice cream counter. At this trajectory, I assume the next expansion will be Cate's Department of Pancakes and Waffles. If so, I will probably end up in line there too.
