I enlisted Rubi's assistance for real estate's tax strategy based on google and FB reviews. I should've trusted my gut when her assistant (her niece) sent me a meeting making for a consultation for the wrong date which I called out. A day later, Rubi emailed confirming the correct date. Her email stated her assistant caught the error immediately and correct it (1st lie). I then cancelled my appt as I felt her email suggested she was not taking ownership of the mistake. If this is the case, how is she going to support you if you get audited.
Fast forward a week or two, after consulting with other accountants, I felt other knowledge lacked real estate, so I went back. We set up another appt and the day prior, she tells me there's a $75 fee for her consult which will be credited towards future service. I paid through Zelle (reluctantly) and continue to get emails requesting the $75 (another red flag, clearly, they are incompetent).
During our consult, I felt like I was on a service call. I didn't get anything out of it other than what services she provides etc. At this point, I knew we weren't a good fit. However, I was already in $75. So, I decided to pay her to incorporate a LLC for me just so I would feel better about the $75. Again, I don't know what I was thinking. After I paid her for the remaining balance to incorporate, she became unresponsive to numerous emails. I called her and she picked up the phone and pretended like she didn't speak English. She continued to speak Spanish and did not hang up, just continue to speak Spanish. I disconnected the call and sent a follow up email with a time sensitive deadline before filing a lawsuit. She then called after reading my email asking what's going on, what's the issue.
At this point, I had nothing else to say. Return my money by this time or I will be filing suit. She did sent me back a money order for the amount however, she stated she overnighted, which clearly was a lie. It took about a week for me to receive.
