Working in a plaza full good eats, B's Kitchen is still one of my favourites! My forever to-go orders would be the vegetarian fresh rolls with tofu, and the "Make your own own dish - Com chon 2 mon". The kitchen is very speedy, and my lunch order is always ready in no time. Service has always been courteous and attentive, and staff has a keen eye for details when dining in. I've recommended this restaurant to many of my friends and family, and we always had a great experience. The menu is so extensive that I'm constantly trying new items. I was not feeling the food court options after a day of shopping at the nearby Vaughn Mills, so we crossed a block of traffic to try B's Vietnamese Cuisine. The short drive is well worth it, as the food here is delicious. We started with the Salt and Pepper Squid and the Vietnamese Pancake. Both were excellent, but the pancake was very different than what I've had before. Instead of one large pancake, they came as three individual taco shells. Very delicious wrapped up with the lettuce and different herbs. For my main, I got the Mien luon, which is a vermicelli made of cassava served with hot soup and crispy fried eel. Again, not what I expected but the fried eel reminded me of the cantonese crispy fish skin and the noodle went very well with the soup. Would highly recommend if you are in the area! read more

After shopping at Vaughn Mills, we had a early dinner here ( they closed at 5pm Sundays). The price is reasonable and portions are good, the service was friendly. However, it took 20min to get our foods even there were only another two tables at the time, I guess because it's 4pm already. We order papaya salad, fried squid tapas, two phos, one rice dishes, and rice paper with grilled beef and pork. All tasted very good. We came on a weekday afternoon. It wasn't a busy time but man, they were incredibly slow. There were only 3 other tables and they already had their food so I don't know why it took so long for them to make our food. It took ~45 mins for us to receive a rice dish and an appetizer. Someone in our party had allergies so we were trying to communicate that with the server but it seemed like she didn't understand us. It was also very hard for us to understand her as she was extremely quiet / soft spoken. Again, the restaurant was by no means full at this time so it wasn't loud inside at all. I love that you can find a lot of Vietnamese dishes that you won't ever see at your typical pho restaurants! We stopped by on a Friday night around 7 PM and it wasn't too busy - it was located in a plaza so lots of available parking. For food, we ordered the Bo Tai Chanh, Nem Cua, Banh Xeo, Bun Cha Hanoi & Bun Bo Hue. The Bo Tai Chanh and Nem Cua were our favourite!! The Bo Tai Chanh was perfectly tangy and sour, paired with the shrimp chips was literally Heaven in my taste buds LMAO It was also my first time trying Nem Cua and I loved it!! I wish every pho resturants offered this now LOL The appetizers were definitely the stars of the night, as our main courses were just ok. The Bun Cha Hanoi was good - but not the best we've had. The Bun Bo Hue was the weakest dish - the broth should be very rich and spicy but it was just way too sweet and mild. The sweetness overpowered everything, I could not taste any lemon grass, shrimp paste or spice. I was surprised as this is one of their speciality items, maybe I came on an off day? Either way this was definitely not a deal breaker because I would still come try to try their other dishes their apps were too good! I've been to MANY many MANY pho restaurants over the GTA and will tell you that this place is in the top 3 of the best pho. They simmer their pho broth for more than 10 hours and you can definitely taste the quality of the broth. They simmer their ox tale and bones for hours - it is super delicious. The broth is so clear and taste amazing on its own. My mom and I have ordered the house special which comes in one size and has a bit of everything. I'm not a big fan of tripe because some places don't clean it properly but this place took the time to prepare it the way I like it. Pieces weren't too big and perfect to chew. The tendon was simply super soft and I didn't need to chew it, that was one of my favorite thing about this soup. Another thing that I loved was the size of the noodles. The perfect pho size noodles - not too thin or too thick. Not overcooked and delicious. The thing that took this experience to another level was the different type of spices they had. Chilli oil, sambal, PICKLED hot peppers with GARLIC, bird eyed chillis - holy moly - I was so impressed and loved it all in my soup, the only thing missing was the fried garlic. We also ordered the pork spring rolls, it was fried in the traditional rice paper wrap - I loved it. It gave a different crispy texture that I enjoyed and gave me the authentic viet dining experience. Not too greasy and was DELICIOUS. My mom loves ordering the fresh spring rolls. We chose the pork and shrimp, it was wrapped beautifully and paired with the delicious peanut hoisin sauce. I would definitely recommend. Place was super clean and service was amazing. Had a nice talk with the owner, I can't wait to come back with my husband and it is definitely worth the drive from Newmarket. I can't wait to try the banh xeo and congee. Order a Uber order and was totally disappointed. Barely any meat with my vermicelli. I even paid extra for some extra meat. My spring roll was burnt too. Meat to noodles ratio is a joke. We ordered spring rolls, medium pho, a bun bo hue, and two iced coffees. The noodles came pretty quickly but we were slightly disappointed that they were fresh noodles instead of the dry ones that we preferred - usually when there are two options they ask us what we like. I came here for lunch with my mom on a Sunday. The restaurant was a little busy but we were seated right away. This place is more upscale so the servers would take the orders instead of the typical order sheets from viet restaurants. I ordered Pho while my mom ordered Hu Tieu. The food was pretty good and I liked that fresh noodles are used here. My mom liked her noodles too, her only complaint was the shrimp could have been better quality. The menu is also extensive, there are items that aren't typically served at other viet restaurants like Mi Quang. While the food was good, the service was lacking. There was only one server and he took everyone's order but skipped my table for some reason. I had to call out to the girl at the cash register to take my order. I'll probably still come back because I want to try the Mi Quang. Hopefully the service will be better. read more

Recommend checking this new Vietnamese spot out if you are in the area! Came by on a Saturday around 1:45pm after doing some shopping at vaughan mills. Located in a plaza with plenty of clinics and other food spots, parking is not an issue. Ordered the bun cha hanoi ($13) (vermicelli with grilled pork & pork sausage) while mom got the bun cha ca ($12) (vermicelli noodle soup with fish cakes). The dipping sauce that came with the bun cha hanoi was the highlight, with a slightly sweet taste to it (fish sauce based) and with plenty of pork belly and sausage. I am fairly sure that the sauce was intending to be spread over the noodles, but since it was not overpowering I just placed the noodles in the sauce! Its served with vegetables on the side so its also possible to eat it like a wrap style, or simply all tossed together. The noodles were also very nice and fresh. Only had the broth of the bun cha ca, but the broth was very nice with a good tomato flavour. It seemed like there was also a wide assortment of fish toppings and a good portion of noodles as well. Have to also give a shoutout to the iced coffee ($4.5), as the flavour is strong and totally on point. Service was great and super friendly, especially when we asked about the menu (as it does seem quite large initially). They are newly opened so the food came out a bit slower, but understandable. Wish they had a printed drink menu but it is also available on their website. Prices are reasonable & they take credit as well (amex included). The intriguing word that is found in B's Kitchen's name is 'fine'. Is fine supposed to be something generic, like Very Fine Chinese Restaurant? Or is it referring to the quality of food or dining experience? In my visit I get the sense that they are aiming for the latter while not being quite there yet. What's different about B's over other Vietnamese place? - you probably can't tell that it's a Vietnamese restaurant based on the signage on the exterior. - they will take your order instead of you marking down your order on the little strip of paper - prices are slightly higher than average - they do have a more extensive menu with more exotic fares like frog noodle and crab spring rolls However based on my experience I didn't really experience anything that was finer than most Vietnamese place. The furniture and ambiance was neat and tidy, the food was ok. The broth in the extra large fatty beef brisket and rare beef pho was a clean and simple one. I didn't mind it but wish it had a slightly sweeter base. The rare beef was good but the brisket was too hard to chew. It's too bad since I thought it was marinated quite well. The pho had lots of noodle but it was $12 and you only get a choice of two toppings. If you decide to order their special beef noodle, they only come in one size and at a $15 price tag. The other thing we ordered was the grilled chicken and spring rolls vermicelli bowl. There's lots of noodles with your typical cucumber, preserved carrots and white radish and herbs. Grilled chicken was quite good with a fine balance between the chicken being tender and having enough char from the barbecue. The fish sauce had a good fermented taste to it towards the end of eating it but it could use a bit more sourness to give it some dimension. If they are going for the finer Vietnamese food route I think they still have lots of things to work on in the food department before we can broach that subject. This place is ok but it wouldn't be my top few choices given the price premium. Since they only opened recently, it would be fair to give them time to work out the kinks. read more

Checked this place out today. The service was fine, enough attendants for a place that was not so busy at the time. The vibe seemed to be not for fine dining. The place was clean. Had their chef's special pho. Overall it was decent. The rare beef, the brisket, the tendon, the beef ball, the tripe, the ox tail (only a very small piece) and the chicken were all cooked well. The broth was flavorful, but a little too salty to my likings. The herbs were acceptablely fresh. The fresh rice noodles were fine. Does the premium for chef's special justify? Doubtfully. read more

Came here for a second time over the weekend and overall had a great experience. We ordered rare beef pho and beef on rice plate as well as fresh spring rolls. The spring rolls took about 20 minutes to reach our table which personally I feel is a bit long but taste wise was very good. Pho is good and one of the better pho dishes I've eaten. 2019-11-29. B's Kitchen Fine Vietnamese Cuisine. Vaughan, ON. B's Kitchen is relative new in Vaughan and joins quite a few other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Located in a residential plaza across the street from Vaughan Mills Mall, it's definitely depending on the residential and local scene to survive. I've tried just about every Vietnamese restaurant from Rutherford Rd to Keele St. and Langstaff Rd. to Major Mackenzie Dr. and while some are pretty decent, I have yet to find my go to place. When B's Kitchen opened up, I had it on my list, but it wasn't until now that I had the chance to partake. As with all rural plazas, parking is free without time restrictions. Inside, B's Kitchen is not the typical bright interior found in most Pho Restaurants. The lighting is softer and neutral tones embrace the walls. Dark tiled flooring, and brown formica tables with a marble pattern set the scene for horizontal surfaces, and tanned cushioned chairs provide the contrast to the furniture. Canvas and framed portraits compete against three flat panels for decor and fresh plants and flowers line the ledges along the large bay windows where light is plentiful. Opening day was July 1st, and their Grand Opening special was a 15% discount until the end of November, so I was lucky enough to make it by a day. Prices are on the high side for Vietnamese, but some of it can be attributed to inflation and the higher cost of living. Being our first time, we went with our favorites, Grilledd Pork Vermicelli, Special Pho Soup, Grilled Pork Chop Rice, and a Special Egg Noodle Soup. P2. Pho Dac Biet (Special Beef Noodle Soup.) The kitchen sink of Pho. All Pho is beef broth based with hints of basil, onions, star anise, fish sauce, and ginger. The Dac Biet comes with a bit of everything. Every restaurant may have their own unique combo for the Dac Biet, but it should essentially encompass it all. Any combination of tripe, congealed blood, beef balls, fatty beef, beef brisket, beef tendon, beef steak slicks (flank or eye of round). The signature of this dish is that the soup is poured over the raw steak slices cooking it to a nice medium rare. If you don't like your steak medium rare, let it sit in the soup a little longer and it will cook fully (NB: It will also get tougher as it cooks more). The dish is typically garnished with cilantro and onions. Here the ingredients didn't disappoint. There was no congealed blood, but it did have everything else (see pics). The soup flavor was on the mild side for me. It may be that it wasn't cooked long enough to extract the flavor from the beef bones, or they didn't use enough bones with marrow. Overall a decent dish, 3,5 stars. H1. Mi Dac Biet (Special Egg Noodle Soup.) You guessed it, essentially the kitchen sink of Egg Noodle Soup. The broth is chicken based here and the toppings are different, but you typically get them all. BBQ pork slices, roasted pork skin bits, ground pork bits, fish balls, squid, shrimp, and imitation crab. The hidden treasure of this dish is the quail egg. If you want to test how authentic this dish is, check out the quail egg. Authentic recipes call for fresh quail eggs, not those from a can. The quail eggs are cooked to a soft boil, then they're deshelled. They go into the dish to continue to cook, and you consume it to your liking. Much like the steak in the Pho, the longer you wait to eat it, the more cooked it gets and the dryer it becomes. Much like the Pho, I was a bit disappointed in the broth here. It wasn't as flavourful as I've had in other places. The toppings were also more pork and less seafood. This version had deep fried tofu, the congealed blood and Cha (pork roll). Not to say that the dish is bad, but I've had much better. 2 stars. B1. Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong (Vermicelli with Spring Roll and Grilled Pork.) This noodles in this dish is served cold with a side of fish sauce. The ingredients typically come separated and you toss it like a salad before eating. If done properly every bite is like a symphony in your mouth. Daikon radish, julienne cut carrots, bean sprouts, peanuts, spring onion, and mint all provide a cacophony of texture and flavour. Here they did a decent job with the exception of the spring roll (cha gio), to me it was 6 flies away from being in a Unicef commercial (see pics). The pork was flavourful and not at all dry. The fish sauce was also pretty decent, not too sweet, and not too fishy. 4 stars. C1. Com Suon Nuong Op La (Rice with Grilled Pork Chop and Fried Egg.) A simple dish where the grill of the Pork Chop and Egg are key! Ideally, the egg should be cooked over medium (slightly runny), but most places do it over easy. Here it was like most places. The pork chop had some nice grill to it, but the chop itself was on the small side throwing the ratio of meat to rice off. 2,5 stars. Overall, 3 stars. Love their raw beef salad! Is refreshing, delish. Had some crab broth noodle serve in brown noodle. This is our 2nd time here and we find their broth taste clean. As in, other Pho restaurant we feel their broth is salty and has lots of MSG. This noodle also has lots of ingredients. Is not spicy, suitable for kids. We also had this blood sausage noodle - dry version. You can deep it in shrimp paste sauce or fish sauce. This place definitely serve some traditional food that we never seen in other Pho restaurant. First time ordering here, and I was extremely impressed with the delicious Bun Cha Hanoi. I couldn't stop eating the noodles, I ran out of noodles and was very tempted to drink the broth because it tasted so good. The pork was tender and savoury, the pork patty was garlicky and cooked perfectly. The broth was sweet, with garlic and fish sauce and tang and umami on man was it good! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend this dish. I also ordered the Hai Phong spring rolls, the special square ones, and I was a bit disappointed, unfortunately. They were okay, but the filling didn't have enough flavour for me. My mom didn't enjoy them either, she felt they were too bland. Maybe just an off day? I enjoyed the other dishes a lot, my mom had chicken on vermicelli (with spring rolls, but she didn't like them) and she really liked the fresh salad and pickles that came with it. The price is reasonable as well, I ordered through Uber Eats with no issue and felt the portions were good and overall, worth it. They also have some other unique dishes that I've never seen at other Viet restaurants in the GTA, like Cha Ca La Vong and Hai Phong Crab Noodle Soup! We came in from San Jose and were craving some authentic Vietnamese food. We looked around and decided to give this restaurant a try. We were extremely pleased and pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. We ordered the family dinner for 6 and every single dish was fragrant and exceptionally prepared. The customer service was excellent, and the waitress was attentive and thoughtful. I recommend the canh chua. They also gave us cookies and candy at the end of our meal.
