Josphat tempted me with a free samosa and I'm glad he did. The beef and chicken samosas were delicious.

I've had the most well-known dish, the pilau with beef or chicken stew, as well as all of the samosas, and I've enjoyed everything.

Her quote made sense and it was easy to understand and adjust and her way of pricing service was logical and reasonable. When we needed to add ice at the last minute she was helpful and accomodating. The food was amazing. Everything was tasty, hot and there was an abundance. I have to say that one of the best parts of working with Mile High was the service. JoLynn had a team of 3 come out to help us. They were super helpful and worked hard to ensure everything went off without a hitch. They even helped us with desserts and beverage that we didn't purchase from them. If I could give them 10-stars I would. They were so helpful and we felt like a team. Also, because our event was at a ranch location and a little more difficult to stage, I appreciated that JoLynn and Madison met me on site to do a preview of the location. They even brought the chaffing dishes and service items so that I could set up the buffet line with decorations. This was truly an unexpected level of service. Thank you to JoLynn, Madison, Garret and Eric for making out event stand out and keeping our guests happy and well fed. We appreciated the food, the service and the teamwork!

Next, the website was so comprehensive and easy to follow. The menus were well organized and good descriptions. Great communication before the event. Then, the staff showed up well before the start time and were absolutely delightful. Well organized and professional. Mark was one of the stars members during the event and he was great! He was attentive and very helpful with any questions and made sure everyone was getting enough apps during cocktail hour. I also noticed how kind and helpful all of the staff was when I was trying to get something from the kitchen in the house before the event started. For appetizers we had the arancini balls and pear crostinis and both were very flavorful and delicious. We had a watermelon/arugula salad to start off dinner and it was so fresh and perfect. The dinner rolls are dangerous bc it would be too easy to eat multiple of them. My vegetarian entree was a generous size and very filling and full of flavor. I really exited the eggplant and the sauce that was on it.

I often get asked how I manage to stay sane while working with 3 small children. Usually my answer…read moreis that I stay (somewhat) sane with 3 children BECAUSE I work, but the truth is that I pretty much outsource as much as I can afford. I'd much rather spend the little spare time I have hanging with my kids or doing things that I enjoy than clean, cook, etc. However, it turns out we have to eat something and we're eating very well thanks to Sweetpea + Thyme. I think I've tried every food delivery service out there and Sweetpea + Thyme is as good as it gets. Every single meal I've had from Lizzie & Jen's kitchen the past 6 months has been so tasty. Even when I'm not excited from something on the menu it ends up being incredibly good. The lowdown on how it works: The Friday before: - Lizzie sends an email w/ the menu for the following week (one choice per day: Monday-Thursday). She will also work with any dietary restrictions. - I reply to the email w/ the days we'll be getting food. We typically order for 3 nights/week, which we end up eating all week long (lunches included). - Lizzie emails heat up instructions that even those of us who can't make eggs can handle The day of: 4pm: Lizzie shows up with a bag full of amazing food 6:30-8:30pm: My husband and I negotiate with (and sometimes threaten) 3 children to go to bed 8:30pm: We're hungry and exhausted after a long day of work and negotiating with our children, but we spend a few min heating up the meal 8:40pm: We eat too much of an amazing, but somewhat healthy meal...and sing Lizzie & Jen praises. --- I often bring the leftovers to work and somehow they taste even better (if possible) for lunch the next day. My kids also often enjoy the leftovers for lunch and I've even had my son's teacher ask how I find time to work, take care of 3 kids and make him amazing home cooked lunches. Ha.

TRUE LOVE TACOS…read more I went to True Love Tacos expecting tacos. What I received was a reminder that food can still make you believe in something. I had recently eaten at Oliver's Italian, which I can only describe as an experience that made me question several fundamental assumptions about civilization. The meal wasn't merely disappointing. It was the kind of meal where you leave the restaurant and immediately begin mentally reconstructing every decision that led you there. Then I ate at True Love Tacos. And suddenly, I understood forgiveness. These tacos are ridiculous. The tortillas have that perfect combination of warmth, char, and structural integrity that makes you wonder why we ever bothered inventing plates. The meat is seasoned like somebody actually gave a shit. The toppings aren't there merely to provide color--they're participating. Every bite has something going on. Crunch. Fat. Acid. Heat. Char. Freshness. It's almost rude. At Oliver's, I spent the meal wondering when it would end. At True Love Tacos, I spent the meal wondering how quickly I could order another taco without making it obvious that I had completely lost control. The difference was profound. Oliver's made me feel like I had paid money to attend a meeting. True Love Tacos made me feel like I'd been invited to a party. And perhaps that's what great food is supposed to do. You shouldn't need to intellectually justify it. You shouldn't need to discuss the chef's vision over a $17 appetizer. You should take a bite and think: "Oh. Fuck. That's good." True Love Tacos accomplishes this repeatedly. By taco number four, I had stopped taking notes. By taco number five, I had stopped speaking. By taco number six, I was no longer a food reviewer. I was simply a man standing before greatness. True Love Tacos: 9.8/10 Oliver's Italian: I would like to formally apologize to the tacos for comparing them. If Oliver's was the meal that made me question whether I understood Italian food, True Love Tacos was the meal that reminded me I understand food. Come hungry. Come humble. And for the love of God, don't eat at Oliver's immediately beforehand. You don't want the tacos spending the rest of the evening cleaning up someone else's mess.
