Filthy dirty. Very unprofessional. My Dr. ordered 2 tests. They couldn't not get that right as they they attempted to do the wrong C T scan. Rude employees that don't listen. Ended up only getting 1 of 2 tests ordered. My appointment was for 1:00 PM and I did not get called in till 2:30 while waiting in a crowded, small waiting area with screaming kids. On its website MStat Imaging claims the following: "Our services are performed in comfortable outpatient environments where each patient is offered an experience unique to their needs." Contrary to that statement, I found that this lab has no respect for a patient's need for privacy and dignity, and, thus, the services it offers are far from comfortable. While the door from the patient waiting room to the inside of the lab is kept locked, once you are inside there is no privacy at all. Here's why. The door from the waiting room leads directly into the MRI control station. The station is like a public lobby that has doors to the front desk, employee bathroom, and, through the bathroom, to the X-ray and Ultrasound sections of the lab. The bathroom has two doors - one for each side of the lab - which makes the floor plan similar to two hotel rooms that share one bathroom. All members of the technical staff, male or female, walk through the MRI control station/lobby on their way to or from the front desk, bathroom, or other side of the lab. As if that were not bad enough, the female front desk receptionists must also walk through the MRI station to go use the bathroom. What does this set up mean for the patient? When you are having an MRI the images of your body on the monitor screen are exposed to the eyes of all employees, not just the authorized technician. If the MRI is of the chest, or pelvis and abdomen, the entire staff has the opportunity to view every detail of the most private areas of your body, inside and out. If you ever see professional medical videos of MRI procedures you would be startled at the clarity of the images. Thus, in spite of MStat's stated claim of offering an experience that takes into account the patient's needs, the lab's mode of operation grossly violates a patient's right to medical privacy. If you have a sense of modesty about your body for cultural, religious, psychological, or other personal reasons, your need will not be honored at MStat Imaging as my experience there confirms. The first time my doctor referred me to MStat for a pelvic and abdomen MRI there was a male technician, and a second young man, in the station. I made it clear that I did not consent to the presence of students, trainees, receptionists, or any other third parties in the control station during my procedure. I was assured there was no need to worry. Yet, when I came out of the MRI tube there was a third party male in the control station, and a female receptionist was standing inside the station with the door to the front desk wide open. I made eye contact with each individual so they know that I saw them. Later, I realized that the second young man that was with the technician throughout the procedure was likely a student or trainee, but he was never identified as such in spite of my stated objections. Thus, I was lied to and deceived. When my doctor referred me to MStat again for another pelvis and abdomen MRI, the male boss or owner of the facility would not meet with me or talk to me on the phone. I sat down instead with the female supervisor of the lab to discuss pointed questions on my concerns. I asked if they would please not allow human traffic through the control station during my MRI procedure. She answered that they could not meet my request for privacy for several reasons. The door to the front desk cannot be locked from the side of the MRI station, technicians and receptionists need to go through the station to get to and from the rest of the facility, and the front desk ladies, as well as everyone else, must have access to the bathroom. I was advised to go elsewhere for my procedure. The supervisor's response suggests to me that MStat Imaging places authoritarian autonomy above the patient's needs. It is far more focused on its own convenience and control than on providing diagnostic procedures in an atmosphere of respect for patients who may be hurting and worried about their health. The lab's inner floor plan and thru traffic demonstrates poor design that fails to give any consideration to the patient's need for privacy. When confronted with direct questions, MStat's message was loud and clear - if you want service, submit to our virtual public stripping of your body, or leave. I refused to submit to MStat's humiliating setup and terms of service so I had no choice but to forego my procedure. I am asking my doctor never to refer me to MStat again, even if there is no other lab I can go to. What's more, given how MStat operates, it should be investigated for potential violations of HIPAA federal laws and the Texas Patient Bill of Rights. read more

Worst experience ever. I'm never going back. Very unprofessional with regards to your privacy. You can be laying on the stretcher for an exam and the tech will walk out and open full door while your exposed to any passerby in the hall. Dirty sheets?? Seeing black streaks like someone's mascara or hair dye rub off onto the sheet with hair specimens is beyond what I could tolerate on an empty stomach. I was left queasy ready to lose my food from the day before. A picture I took of the wall needing a baseboard with Sheetrock eaten through by critters possibly made my stomach churn. Another picture I blurred to be discreet shows how I was able to view other patients' date of visit, DOB, gender, full name some of which I personally knew and how large their file of image was giving me an idea how much imaging was taken. All this info. is protected and guarantees you privacy under the HIPPA Privacy Act. Shame on not training their staff about confidentiality on medical records. This was reported the same day to the manager which assured me she would take immediate corrective measures. It still does not undo the fact that others entering after me, didn't see my name and personal info. if I could give this place a half star, I would or no star at all!!! read more

I just got home from a CT scan of my head. I know from the picture outside that this is the same place as the other review, but my experience was as far from hers as it could get. The place was very clean. The tech was friendly, professional and very kind. She made the whole experience as pleasant as having to keep your head still for a half hour can be. Many things can happen in 3 years. In this case, it appears all of them were good. read more
