It consisted of basic items, hand soap, paper towels, etc - but it made me think these guys went the extra mile to welcome me. The aspect I love the most is the events the building hosts. It provides a medium for community engagement. The rooftop has a breathtaking view of the city, wireless access, a club room with a tv and mini-bar, two grills, patio furniture, and a gym! There is also a business center in the lobby. The location speaks for itself - you are living in the heart of DC's nightlife. Trader Joe's is directly across the street. A couple dry cleaners are nearby. The U Street Metro is 2 blocks. So far, these guys have hit a grand slam with the place.

We also gave up the possibility of pipes freezing and callous prevaricating management. The management is always helpful here. The building is always clean and the residents care about each other and the building. It has an amazing sense of community. It's next door to Baker Park and a healthy walk to downtown through the park. There is a beautiful community garden and plenty of wildlife from deer to foxes. Yesterday, I saw a hummingbird attracted to the beautiful community garden. If you like being in town yet near the park, this building is a great place to live.

I was new to the area, having moved from out of state and had no idea what to expect beyond the sticker shock on rents in the NorthEast. I can't begin to list the +ves: Location: I doubt there's a better location in town! Next to the park, a lake and few clicks from a quaint yet bustling downtown (on weekends anyways). The park is gorgeous with huge old growth trees and a jogging track, tennis courts, baseball pitches .. even has fireworks on new years' Insides: this one is a chip off the old block. I think it was built at a time when construction quality and 'trueness' of design was the norm. I am a mid-century modern design buff and for me this is 'good design'. Minimal wastage of space, great storage space, clean clean clean design, great light admittance And GOOD QUALITY fixtures (by apartment standards of course - don't expect Kohler designers). Our apartment has (i think) the original wood floors and the it just oozes with that mid-century modern charm. Maintenance: On-site and on call! The maintenance person is literally a call away and always around. He even helped us move in on a Saturday when the manager was away. Which brings me to the manager - who's just the person this place needs. I'm sure the daily and long term upkeep is in no small part her credit. Outsides: The grounds are lovely - as you see from the pictures ... it says a 1000 words. Looking out the window is like watching a photograph! Building is well-kept and very well cleaned.... very clean Security: Access-controlled gates and some of the senior residents hanging out in the lobby make sure no undesirable elements walk in :) Over all: For the money, I'm quite sure one would be hard pressed to find a better place in Frederick and surrounding areas. For me, there are more than a few easter eggs here that send this property over the top - like the cool retro-modern design and the proximity to the park and the views out the windows. The security doesn't hurt either, although I haven't been here long enough to hear about any issues. So, if you are in the market, put this one on your list - you won't be wasting your time :)

He just moved out after nearly 5 years there, and I have nothing but good things to say about his experience. His studio apartment was perfect for a college kid's needs, and anytime there were maintenance issues they were promptly addressed. He didn't have to worry about anything. The most important aspect of his stay there, though, was the staff. From George, who we helped us choose a unit and set up the lease, to the front door staff--especially Walter (who my son grew to love and will miss)--everyone went above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful, not just to my son but to my husband and me when we would visit. Even during move out this was the case (special mention again to Walter for his help--you are an angel!). Any GW parents looking into Hamilton House for their student: this is a really great option for off campus housing. It's quiet, safe, and the building is managed well. Can't recommend highly enough!

That made such a great first impression. I had already toured five other apartment communities, and none of them made me feel at home the way this one did. For me, the front office is one of the most important parts of choosing an apartment because they're the people you'll be dealing with whenever something comes up after you move in. At several of the other communities I visited, it honestly felt like the staff didn't even want to give the tour. You could see it on their faces. The energy was off, there was very little conversation, and the tours felt rushed. It just wasn't a welcoming experience. Shirani was the complete opposite. She was warm, patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and made the entire experience feel relaxed and stress free. She wasn't pushy about the rent at all. Instead, she clearly explained the current pricing, any available specials, when those offers expired, and exactly how the application process worked. I appreciated that she gave me the information I needed without making me feel pressured to make a decision on the spot. The property itself is beautiful, and the apartments are very spacious. They actually feel spacious, unlike so many places advertising "700 square feet" while charging thousands of dollars a month. Because of the experience Shirani provided, this community is now in my top two choices. If you're looking for a stress free tour with a knowledgeable leasing associate, ask for Shirani. You won't be disappointed.

I started to feel unsafe walking the halls and coming home at night by myself. I was constantly on edge. Management told us to call the police anytime groups of teens were loitering in the building because there was nothing they could do about it. They plowed the center through way in the parking lots leaving 2 feet of frozen snow piled up behind the cars. This is a 55+ community with many residents in their 60's & 70's. When I spoke with the Community/Leasing Manager about it, she said the plowing company did "the best they could do?" I told her it was NOT GOID ENOUGH and she told me to leave her office! She is certainly not well suited to manage 55* apartments! See the pics and how the snow is piled up behind the cars in the Disabled/Handicap spaces. It's tragic and deplorable! She genuinely cares about her residents and takes the time to see that our needs are met. The grounds and buildings are so well maintained-- everything is mowed, trimmed, cleaned and kept in mint condition! I have met some very welcoming neighbors and I feel right at home here already. Answering all the questions, always available to talk. The grounds at Willowood are beautiful. Always spread with fresh flowers, pumpkins in the fall, mums at our front door. The registration, check-in, and monthly payments were all automated and easy to use and navigate. The space was cosy but roomy enough for two of us, and the place was fully furnished with an outfitted kitchen so we could easily cook any meal if we wanted to. I recommend Mt Vernon Flats for anyone needing a furnished place for a week or months.
