    Pavilion. One of three?

Stayed here a few times this year. Must say this is one of the nicer, and easier to get into State Parks. If you're over 60, the Golden Buckeye makes it really financially attractive to stay in the state park system. Majority of all the facilities are relatively new and extremely well-maintained with plenty for the family to do. Campsites might be a little close in comparison to other places; however, it's pretty darn nice! The only thing this campground lacks is a pool. That said, there is a lake to go swimming if you desire.

Honestly this would be a 5 star review because the park is absolutely stunning but the mud on the trails was horrendous at times. It even stole shoes! I witnessed human feet prints embedded in the dirt along with saw first hand how quick a shoe could be taken off. Regardless, great fishing spot and a beautiful hike! If you're planning on going, look for the tumor tree deep on the orange trail. Looks like a spirit got trapped! I may or may not be cursed now for looking.

Dam the park would look best in the fall

BE CAREFUL ON THE NARROW PART OF THE ROAD GO SLOW AND HONK YOUR HORN ON THE BLIND CORNER This park is only about five minutes off of I-71. It is a very small state park with camp sites and a lake. The park would look best in the fall. There were some interesting looking hiking trails. The park is small, but worth stopping for.

My. Gilead State Park is a small campground. Beautiful tall trees. Nice clean bathroom facilities.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. Some of my funnest memories were made below the old dam. This year I was surprised to see that was gone and a new one in its place. It needed it, but a part of me was certainly sad to see it so different. The park seems to have come a long way in the past few years, and I am happy to see it getting so much love from the county and residents. I look forward to being back again next year on our annual road trip back home.

Mt. Gilead is a small park 181 acres most of which is the lake. When we visited the lake was not accessible. This is not a hiking park.

The trail system is small within the park, and includes two approximately 1/2 mile trails, the Woodland Ridge Trail that stays in the forest, and the Pinegrove Trail, which takes you through more woods and some meadow-like sections. It also offers a wildlife blind to view a blind, with birds, turtles, and more wildlife to see. You can easily combine the two trails by crossing the bridge located over the ravine, which is an extremely popular location for pictures. Near the parking area is a nature center, which has a lovely garden out front. The staff is extremely friendly and will chat and provide information. On our most recent visit, we got a heads-up about a pair of active ospreys viewable from the Alum Creek Osprey Overlook just up the road, which can be hiked/biked from Hogback Ridge if you want to extend your hike/jog/ride. This is normally a very quiet preserve, but we found a big cycling event going on during our most recent visit that seemed to be running out of the park. We still found parking and everyone was very friendly - a couple of the cyclists made sure we knew about the ospreys. Great place to visit!
