The ballet is beautiful--the dancing and performances are simply stunning, and the dancers are incredible. Being able to take a drink into the hall is a big plus. The lobby has two concession stands with snacks and beverages, including alcoholic options, and there's usually a merchandise booth as well. During The Nutcracker, they had the most beautiful ballerina ornaments for sale--such a lovely touch. Parking is easy, too. There's a public garage right across the street, plus street parking nearby. Overall, an elegant venue and a wonderful night out. Highly recommend.

I'll do it like this: Is it scary? If that's what you like and you get scared, then yes. It is. If you're not easily scared and you like haunted houses for what they are, you will have a great time. Is the decor good? it is fantastic. Are the people good? Absolutely. They do a phenomenal job. Make up and costumes are great. How cool of a job would that be?!?!? Is it worth the money? Absolutely. If I remember correctly, it does take 15 to 20 minutes to get through it. They do space people out so you're not shoved up against, or being shoved by, a bunch of strangers. Would I go back? Totally. This is great fun every year. I'd suggest getting there early though. The line, although it moves steady, can get long and the wait can be quite long. Can't tell you how long because we always try to get there as early as possible. I would not say that this is exactly an "accessible" place for wheelchairs, scooters, etc. I could be wrong, but I know there would be some challenging areas for those types of accessibility aides.

MEC has an off street parking lot with direct access to the main entrance. I got my ticket on the main level and then headed upstairs to the performance space and concessions lobby. The concessions space is clean and spacious, with nice bathrooms off to one end and a large window overlooking the church spire across the street. There is also an ample concessions window for drinks and snacks (including wine and beer). Inside the performance space you will find cushy, stadium-style seating facing a rectangular stage flanked by large black curtains. The theater space also seems to sport a sizable light and sound booth behind the seats. I was really impressed with this space and couldn't believe this secret has been kept from me for so long! I will certainly be back.

This was the second year Lumenocity happened, and I was really excited to experience it. It's…read morereally hard to describe what this event is, and do it justice. It's essentially a several-hours long festival in front of Music Hall, in Washington Park. However, what it's known for is the massive grand finale, where the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra plays while a massive light show is projected onto the facade of Music Hall. I had been a little skeptical about this going in -- I grew up attending CSO concerts, and a light show sounded slightly hokey. But I knew how nuts people had gone for it the first year, so when I had the chance to get tickets, I thought I should at least check it out. What an INCREDIBLE event to showcase the best of Cincinnati. Despite being smooshed together like sardines, seeing a tribute to Charley Harper where critters jumped, hopped, and scrambled across Music Hall is one of the most memorable experiences I've had since returning to my hometown. After this year, I totally get the hype, and hope this is something all Cincinnatians can experience as they work out future demand for tickets. Pro-tips (though the advisability of these may change based on future year's logistics): 1. Get there and set up your chair EARLY. We got there a few hours after the gates opened, and just barely found a patch of grass at the back. You can leave your chairs set up, and walk around "the village" of food stands, drink stands, community organization booths, and vendors. 2. Re-apply sunscreen often, bring toilet paper for the port-o-lets (which were surprisingly clean), and hydrate a lot. I suggest gatorade. It's sunny out there if you get there early! Also, bring a poncho -- it briefly rained when we were there, and it really came in handy. 3. Bring cash for the beer spots, though most other vendors will take cards 4. Enjoy the pre-show acts at the Gazebo 5. Lumenocity is a great family-friendly event, but it's crowded, hot, and a very LONG wait until the light show for little kids. It's probably best to just bring older kids to this event. 6. If you really want tickets, you need to make friends with a Symphony subscriber -- or better yet, become one yourself. Season ticket holders receive first dibs on 4 Lumenocity tickets well before the remaining tickets are opened up to the public.

It's a jam that has been very well attended each time I've gone. The house band plays a set up front, which is usually pretty incredible. There is a full bar and plenty of seating for when you're not sitting in to play. Liberty Exhibition Hall is the perfect place for an eclectic community to find a home in celebrating the arts. They host a variety of events throughout the week. I'm excited to see what they'll offer next.

We had no problem finding nearby parking (free street parking!). The space was pretty cool. As you enter, immediately on your left are steps leading up. You buy your tickets there (and return at intermission for refreshments) and then head back down a different set of steps to the performance space. To the right of the audience is a bar. They use this space to run run sound and lights. The show was only an hour and a half long and we thought it had some great talent and good laughs!
