I hadn't been to a haunted house (or town/forest in this case) in years when I was invited to experience terror town. I was encouraged to purchase a yellow (no touching allowed) bracelet and after experiencing terror town I wish I would have braved the red bracelet! Terror Town was such a unique experience for me! I really enjoyed that you are able to have an immersive experience or just eat and drink while you wait to enter the haunted forest instead of waiting in a long line like most other haunted houses. The town was ultimately my favorite part as opposed to the actual forest. I enjoyed seeing the theatrics of the cast members and the public humiliation of people who dared purchase the red bracelets all while drinking a beer and shopping at the gift shops. I was so disappointed by the changes. Back when it was All Hollows/Terror Town, it had so much charm and felt like a true independent haunted attraction. The little town, unique atmosphere, and creativity made it feel special and different from every other haunted house. Now that it's Cincinnati Fear Fest, it feels overly commercialized and has lost the character that made people fall in love with it in the first place. It seems like the focus shifted from creating a memorable experience to creating a bigger, more generic attraction. It just doesn't have the same heart or immersive feeling anymore. read more

This place is beyond amazing! Most complaints seem to come from folks who didn't read the millions of posted "RED BRACELET WILL GET YOU DIRTY AND MESSY!!" almost like the owners should make you do a red bracelet recital "with this red bracelet I understand that I will be touched, drug off, possibly forced to my knees, and covered in blood. I also understand that this isn't WWE smackdown and I will not try to fight the actors." The intention of the red bracelet is clear as day and some of you guys ruined your own time by getting the red bracelet that you were not prepared for. That's on you. Also! The vendors are amazing! Most everything is handmade in the town! There's handmade brooms, ring games, chocolate, kettle corn, photo jewelry, real bone art, even somebody doing forging, handmade teddy bears, lots and lots of food vendors! You would almost have to try to have a bad time here there's so much to do! The owners and staff are beyond helpful and beyond reasonable in getting any issues that you have resolved! read more

Please read prior to going! First you may be a bit confused about the two different types of tickets. $30 is the walk through the woods, $40 is touch or no touch with some shenanigans. The touch version is basically for anyone with masochist personality. They can grab you - your hair, your clothes - and they will sometimes lock you up in a box. I would not recommend for kids! It has a a very hills has eyes feel or purge vibe. I honestly would not recommend for anyone that is not looking for abuse. It was freezing outside like in the forties and they were freely just throwing water on everyone. So besides all the crazy we were there for 3 hours. Unbeknownst to us you check in, after paying for our ticket you have to check in again. Wait times were 2+ hours. It probably took us 2.5 hours to get started with the trail. Once the trail started we were a bit excited again, they told us a ghost story and we were like ya this will be worth the wait. Wrong. The groups were timed wrong, more abuse of the people that paid for touch. Very little scary and just cringe all the way through. Biggest waste of $40, made us miss fro-yo since we had to wait so long. Do not go if you don't have at least 3 hours and like the cult type vibe and a bit of abuse. Bring a change of clothes or something for you car since they can get pretty wild. read more

although i think they only focused on the people who bought the red bracelet last year, i still preferred last year. I love the concept of having a whole town, and the fact you can shop around while waiting, but for the trail walk thing, they sent more than 15+ people at a time, and only had a few scare actors on the trail which made things a little boring and they sent way too mang people in all at once. The other haunted attraction they had wasn't too bad, they didn't send everyone in at once but they still didn't have a lot of actors. But overall I do love terror town and I think the shops they have are super neat, i just wish they had some more scare actors and spaced out how many people come in at once! read more

I'm honestly shocked. I've went to this haunted attraction for the last 3 years in a row. It was amazing every year. Now they have partnered with fear fest and it's nothing but a money grab. I feel bad for the people that are here for the first time because they have no idea what they missed out on. It was absolutely amazing before this. It was so unique and a personable experience before. There is no red wristbands which made it so personable to go in these haunted houses. It was definitely an experience that you will not find anywhere else hardly. Now these haunted houses are nothing but a couple peek a boos, and walking. It's really unfortunate. I haven't even mentioned the "bar crawl". What a waste of money. They are nothing like the pictures that they advertise. They are little shacks that do not offer any more alcohol than the other regular bars. The alcohol that all the bars offer are absolute trash. It's honestly so disappointing. Very disappointed. I've been coming for years and the fear factor is no longer there. Red bracelets and yellow bracelets are no longer available due to insurance not supporting it, according to staff in line. Overall disappointed and not an immersive experience. In the past the town was utilized as well as other assets of the place and the trail was fun. This year it wasn't the same, you can go somewhere cheaper for a better experience. So, when you read the description of the red bracelet experience you think you'll be getting messy because you're in a "scene" but that's not really what it is. There are a total of 3 actual scenes and 2 are the same: "forced by a mad scientist to reach into a dead body". Everything else is pretty much "walk in to a maze or building, get water thrown on you/mud thrown on you/forced to lay in mud. And it's real mud, not fake mud (as in from pools of standing, stagnant water on the ground) and it'll end up in your hair, mouth, and eyes. The actual trail isn't scary, you just get messy. And it's expensive for it not to be scary. The only reason it got 2 stars instead of 1 is because the town is super cool, not that we got to enjoy it as we were soaking wet. read more

me and 5 others attended terror town last night. definetely was a big disappointment. we ordered our tickets online and with 2 people, plus the processing fee the total came too $74.68 (kind of pricey) when we arrived we waited around 25 minutes in the prepaid line, the pay on arrival line was shorter. i didn't think too much of it because i was still excited to see the cast however in the ticket booth line there were no actors. once inside the town is super cool! however once again no actors... they do every once in awhile come out onto stage and perform a scene typical execution style and it is pretty rad i'll give them that. other than that there is no really actor-customer interaction. the bathroom situation is not ideal, the bathrooms themselves are fine yes! however i noticed through out the night they would be closed only offering 4 porta potties to the public. as i waited in line i would see grown men go inside with flash lights and gawk at how nasty they were and say they were "flooded" The haunted houses were a solid 2/10. the waits were around 30-1 hour.no actors in the lines. i thought possibly maybe all the actors were in the houses thats why they weren't on the streets. there were only a handful of actors that were in the houses and they weren't really trying to scare? they would just scream? no plan, no teamwork, just quite literally stood there and screamed. I want to second what Sonya wrote, whose very fair and well written review was unfortunately not good enough for Yelp's automated engine, so you'll need to go down to the "not recommended" reviews to find it. Everything she said was basically our experience. Don't worry about buying tickets in advance because there isn't a line for tickets. There is a very long and invisible line to actually walk to the haunted trail. You'll check in at the train depot, although you're not waiting for Amtrak it's a similar experience. They'll take your phone number, and after about an hour you'll start checking your phone more frequently to see if you missed any texts. After 90 minutes, you'll check your place in line to be reassured you're just "10 to 15 minutes" from the top. Then you'll order another water from the bar, and the bartender will give you a weird look, but she clearly hasn't been without water for two hours. Finally, after spending 2.5 hours walking a sparsely populated Wild West town and several semi-awkward interactions with folks who clearly aren't selling enough to pay their rent, you'll finally get a text! When it comes to October, there's now way place can handle actual crowds. At this point, this whole experience could redeem itself if you actually get scared. But you'll wait another 10-15 minutes to get on the trail. And it's okay. The "maze" area has a lot of potential, and was my favorite part but it should be more of an actual maze or have a few more elements to make you feel lost. The church scene at the end is kinda fun. But I left feeling like they have a lot of actors putting a lot of energy into screaming a lot. I think the outdoor trail experience lends itself to a lower key, more psychological scare (that's why I like the maze idea). I was hoping we would encounter some creepy horde out in the fields, or the actors might time their approaches so that you'd see one coming and miss another one from the other direction, and that they might build one surprise on another. A group of friends and I went and got there around 7. We immediately put in our names and phone number for the trail. At 12:30 we finally received notification that we were up. We waited in in another 30-45 mins. Once on the trail, it was just as terrible. Very few scares, ssssoooooo many missed opportunities. This is a rip off. This place is amazing and like nothing I have ever seen before. Shops, saloons, great food. Entertainment. They have it all and more. If you buy a red bracelet you agree to lots more scare for only $10 more, during not only the haunted trail but during your time in Terror Town. My only wish is that they had timely shows/entertainment, and that there was more to do after you exit the trail. My husband and I desperately wanted to stick around after the trail but just found ourselves doing the same things with the same entertainment as before the trail. My partner and I went to All Hallows' Eve LLC for our anniversary weekend with our 12 year old. we waited 2 and a half hours for the trail which is fine. we went to check how much longer and were immediately met with the man asking if we wanted "something freaky" in front of our 12 year old. We went to the entrance and asked for a refund as we wanted nothing to do with the trail at that point and were refused and told "oh he's just eccentric. The shops are great and do not reflect the actions of terror town, but clearly whatever family owns this is okay with their employee sexualizing lesbians and that's not okay. so were out $30 per person (90$ total) due to a pervert. People not dressed up that mainly go on trail and get messed wity hard... Fake injury and such. Have a fake zombie take over with more fake blood. Got there when they opened and a 3 hour wait to walk the trail and there was nobody there. Drove 1 hr to get there and was very disappointed. We got there at 7pm and once inside we signed up for the trail and was told the trail doesn't even open until 8:30 and the earliest we'd be able to do the trail is 9:45pm. They sell red glow bracelets for people who want to interact with the staff that's dressed up. I had no bracelet and was drenched with fake blood from a clown. I would never recommend Terror Town. I payed online, but still waited nearly 45 minutes in the prepaid line. Do not bring your family. Upon arrival they made it very clear that it is a "R rated facility." Once inside the park, you check in to wait for your chance to go on the trail, then explore the town. The town is rather boring honestly. There are not many scarers, and those who are around don't do much besides shoot off cap guns. My one positive note is that some of the vendors have very nice items, and shopping was enjoyable. After waiting an hour inside, they finally held an event, which consisted of pulling mostly women up on to a stage and spanking them repeatedly with a thick wooden paddle in front of a crowd. Many of the "participants" had a red wristband (which indicates consent to be touched), but some did not appear to. I also saw a young girl get pulled by the ear around the stage, tied on a rope, and dragged around in a muddy puddle while she resisted. All the while, local sheriffs (not actors) watch.
