Paid my water bill at the drive -up ... in and out in less than five minutes! So convenient!

if I could leave 0 stars I would. I'm not alone in this complaint. i am enrolled in autopay and got an email saying I owed 259.17 bill is due on may 19th and confirming I'm enrolled in autopay. well today my water was shut off for a past due amount. so how is there a past due amount when I'm enrolled in autopay? I called and they are rude and basically are like well we will put your water back on between 1-5. its 10 am. this is due to an error on your website and now I have no water all day. the customer service reps are horrible and of zero help. I contacted South Carolina department of regulatory commissions and mt pleasant is a municipality so they are not under their jurisdiction. He stated that they get numerous complaints daily on Mount Pleasant waterworks. On their website there is a consumer bill of rights where you are supposed to get notification of termination of services. Mount Pleasant does not issue any warning letting you know services will be terminated. They just come sneak on your property and shut your water off. No not notification at all. According to the app that I have downloaded on my phone I was paid up and The next amount would be taken out of my account the 19th at no point did it show on there that any services would be terminated? I never got any letter in the mail nothing. This could not be a worse company to have to deal with. When I called when the water was shut off, the gentleman was still in my neighborhood. But they don't turn your water back on until the hours between 1-5 pm. So complete waste of taxpayer dollars to have this guy now leave for x amount of hours then drive all the way back here to turn on your water when he is literally next door. it really is a joke of a system. and this is due to an error on their part. So do not rely on auto pay and their random emails. Because one day you can just wake up to no water and you're paid up. They offer no apologies no credit credits nothing. they don't care. read more

They supply water, they're a government agency, you pay them and they do the delivery part. You go a few days past due on your bill and you get a 24 hour shut off notice, no reminder, just pay tomorrow or off. Not sure why the world needs a review on something you don't have options with. Not like we can say they suck, and you go somewhere else for water. Like all things Government, there isn't really a choice in the matter. read more

I have been a customer with MPWW for over twenty years (not of my own choice). I have also worked closely with the construction and development departments from the private development side. I must say that experience with the organization has been 'night and day'. As a customer, it has been subpar at best, with customer service being unresponsive to problems and improvement. It seems to be a organizational culture problem as it has been the same for the entire 20 year duration. About six years ago, I even attended a customer focus group in a rare attempt to improve. The customer group formed consensus on certain problems and possible solutions. In the time since, there has been no perceptible recognition or implementation from our group input. As a customer, the only changes I see are slow steady increases in rates or fees. Not customer service. Not even better safeguards for public health and safety. On the 'day' side of things the people I interacted with to design, permit and construct extensions to their existing water system were excellent. My experience with them has been fascinating and frustrating at the same time. I suppose it depends on what type of customer you are. read more
