Don't recommend. Wrote a note for my boys to watch a movie - which I get, times are different from when I was younger. I had to come down to let them into the movie. The guy behind the counter just told me no and asked if they were all mine. I told him yes. Then he says he doesn't believe me, and I can sit and watch the movie with them, or leave. I had to get back to work and I don't like scary movies as well as other kids I had to go get after work. Ridiculous. I'm especially not going to blast my other children's family drama and being under my guardianship because of their parent's choices for everyone to hear. Do better. It's a movie. read more

The chairs are old with not much foot space. Extremely uncomfortable. They will literally hassle you for bringing a starbucks, EVEN if you are buying concessions and are a repeat customer. (They don't sell coffee, but won't allow you to bring it in). They literally refunded my money and refused me as a customer rather than allow me to buy a ticket, a soda, a popcorn, and be able to enjoy my coffee with my movie that they DO NOT SELL. The manager was totally inflexible and passive agressive; it was the best day of his life to deny service to a theater goer over an outdated, petty rule. In a world where movie theaters are dying, why is this bizarre rule still enforced? This theater is old, small, uncomfortable. It runs aweful, boring arthouse theaters from the local area AFTER all the other movie trailers and they are LONG. read more

Dont come here, seat are uncomfortable, customer service is shit and they're rude. I got accused of vaping, when i have asthma. So that not even an option for me to even consider. This was one of the worst experiences coming here, ive been coming here my whole life. read more

Went there to watch Blade Runner 2049... it was nearly empty and I was excited. Then the previews started, at literally close to 110 dB. When the movie started it blew my hair back and crushed my glasses against my face! My GOD is every theatre intent on deafening you??? --gave away 'emergency' ticket.. won't be back. Very sad, I wanted to see that film for 5 years, but I won't be put into "fight or flight" mode by SOUND. read more

Friendly people and clean air conditioned theater. Great way to beat the heat during a recent camping trip.

Such a cute little movie theater. It has 6 or so screens and the theater I was in held maybe 50 people. Very clean and well maintained. Happy, friendly concession people (teenagers) and a really sweet older lady taking tickets. I appreciated that this theater didn't have that stale overpowering fake butter smell that a lot of theaters have and also that since it's so small, the bathrooms were pretty close by. Friendly staff and very clean. However you would think a place that charges you an arm and leg for tickets would at least attempt to up day their 20+year old seats which are less comfortable then sitting in the back of a pick up truck that just drove over a cliff hitting the ground and exploding! to bad instead of dieing you end up laying in the bushes with 105 fractured bones! I am very happy to have ANY movie theater in such a small town, and Shasta Cinemas is GREAT little place to escape to. 6 screens, clean, moderately priced--we are pretty lucky to have them in town. It would be cool if they showed a few more artsy/documentary type films. read more

The prices are below the national averages for new releases and the concession stand prices are the same as a city movie theater. Because it is a small town theater, they try to accommodate the showing of all types of movies. My family were excited to see the opening day, first showing of Les Miserable. When the movie began, we all were surprised that there didn't seem to be much orchestration accompanying the actors' singing. My husband left the movie and told an employee that something was wrong, that the side speakers weren't working. She said they would check it out. There didn't seem to be much change the rest of the movie. This is a musical. There should be music as well as vocals. When we got home, we listened to the movie soundtrack and heard the missing instruments. I called and spoke to the manager, concerned for other movie patrons' enjoyment of the movie. He told me that the "mono" sound was normal. I again expressed my concern for the movie patrons following us. I was spoken down to and there was no resolution with this theater representative. The theater is comfortable and was clean but if sound is important to you (and the movie) I would find a different theater to go to. read more

Clean with semi comfortable seating. Staff is friendly. Prices are too high. They're the only movie theater in the county..... And they know it. They charge a lot because they can. Took my family for a night at the movies (5 of us) and went home after a couple of hours almost $70 poorer. We didn't pig out at the concession stand either just simple popcorn and sodas. Why is a 13 year old child expected to pay adult prices? Makes it hard for families to go out. Redding 8 offers movies for only $1-$2 and with gas being cheaper in Redding its so worth the drive just to gas up and enjoy an affordable movie. Have dinner out with the money you save. :-). A little older movie, same refreshments and I'm only down. $30-$35 compared to $70. read more

I love our small town theater. It's always clean, and the people who work there are friendly. Like any Movie Theater it's a bit expensive but nothing like other theaters ticket prices. About a year ago or more...they made the decision to spend the money on making it digital and adding 3D instead of closing. I'm sure glad they did because I love that I can drive 15 minutes to see a show instead of 75 minutes. Support the local theater :) read more

For the area this is a great movie theater. I remember the area before there was one and you had to drive 15 minutes to the movie or all the way up to Yreka for the movies. It's not a bad small cinema. read more

well, don't get the big bag of popcorn with butter because the bag will soak through and ruin your clothes. the girl behind the counter said they leak but who knew the entire bottom would be soaked?! seems like a big flaw that they should change. i'm not happy and plan on talking to a manager tomorrow about my jeans. read more
