I am going to be nice because I am sure the past year has been tough. The good is great breakfast and nice unique room. Nice bed. And very nice lady who runs it. My only complaint is it needs a bunch of upkeep. The porch is very outdated. House could use paint job. Will not complain about room it was clean but very old. I see many reviews have been pre covid. But be careful when looking at pictures. read more
Lovely inn with a lovely innkeeper! We came to the area to visit family that recently moved to the area due to work. Initially, we didn't see too many options that seemed appealing in the area. There are lots of options for winter sports in the area...snowshoeing is huge, skiing, xcountry, dog sledding, etc., but lodgings in this immediate area were scant. We are so glad we found Mt Washington. The rooms were very cute, quaint, and comfy. This is exactly what you think of when you picture a quaint little New Hampshire Inn. It is a little off the beaten track, which was fine with us. The rooms are very cute, with very nice accents. Each room is different and very nicely decorated by the owner. There are always coffee and tea and cookies available in the dining room. The breakfast was very nice. We had french toast with baked pears and sausage. I will definitely stay here again if I need to be in this area. read more

I have been to a lot of B&B's and this place is awesome. We loved the house and its scenic location. It's centrally located just outside of town with a great views of the Mountains. A home away from home with home baked cookies and brownies; breakfast was also delicious. After a day of hiking, ziplining, taking photos of Moose and other wildlife you should be pretty beat to even think that you need TV ,Booze and Ice. If you are a nature lover and want some much needed R&R, this is the ideal place. You can bring your loved one to reconnect - talk, walk and enjoy each other without interruptions. You may have an occasional vehicle drive by, but being from the city, it was almost null. It was actually nice to be able to enjoy good, old fashion, clean fun without the cable to draw attention away from one another. IF you want cable, booze and/or liquor then I recommend you go to a hotel where you may also get impersonal, continental breakfast. A B&B is not the place for you... it is not a motel! Maryann is an amazing hostess and we look forward to staying there again, next year. We highly recommend her. read more

My new husband and I stayed here for our first night of our honeymoon. It was very quaint, clean, and rustic. The beds were comfy and warm as was the innkeeper, Mary Ann. She was very friendly and welcoming. AND an amazing cook. The breakfast was spectacular. Spiced apples served warm, lemon blueberry pancakes, and bacon. I'm still dreaming about that bacon. My only complaint was that we heard the traffic on the road throughout the night since we had all the windows open. It would wake me up a couple of times. But that is what you get when you open your windows at night sometimes. This place was pretty close to downtown with other restaurants and shops to stop at. read more

My wife and I love to run and hike in the mountains. This area of New Hampshire is a great place to get a lot of mountain hiking in. We happened to find the Mt. Washington B&B online and feel so lucky. It's the perfect place to stay for a few days to relax as you play in the mountains. You will have comfy accommodations and a very friendly host. The bed and breakfast is beautiful, and Mary Ann greeted us at the door with a welcoming smile. The room was cute and comfortable, and also private. Our room had its own bathroom and a separate living room with a couch and TV off of the bedroom. Our first morning, we were waking up before regular breakfast, so Mary Ann had coffee and muffins waiting for us before our early departure. The second morning, she made the most delicious french toast which we enjoyed while chatting with her and other hikers spending the night. I can't say enough about how amazing of a host Mary Ann is. She's so friendly, and she went out of her way multiple times to make sure we were very comfortable. I even left a watch behind after we left and she shipped it to our home. If we are ever back in New Hampshire, we will certainly be staying here again. read more

Our family stayed two nights at this B & B and we loved it! The rooms were nice and clean, pretty and roomy. I loved the farm house style with birds and homemade quilts. The optional A/C was nice too. Since we enjoyed a family vacation for the first time, it was great without the interruption of cable TV. Every morning we were treated to a homemade breakfast, then an afternoon snack. The host, Mary Ann, is a lovely woman full of wit and knowledge of nearly everything, especially helpful with local suggestions. We truly enjoyed her company. The property borders the Androscoggin River where a steep slope down to the river area is a mere hike. Bring the bug spray down there! What a treat! So glad we visited! Family vacation memory always! read more

The woman who owns the place is a really nice person and I believe she tries hard. The building is attractive, vintage and clean. Breakfast is good. For some people it might be ideal, but for us it in particular it was deficient. My serious complaints are 1)NO cable. You can watch very dated viedo tapes, but really not for me in paricualr and I'm not a novel reader 2) NO ice. We like to have a drink in our room at night, no can do. We had to drive into town and beg a resturaunt for ice. 3) Pretty noisy. Traffic can be heard when it's there but at night it's not much. Room to room can be easily heard. If you're a reader and a hiker or naturalist, you might like it. but it was't for us. read more

My boyfriend and I loved staying in Mary Ann's home! If you're looking to keep to yourself and be uninterrupted, keep looking... You are treated like family here! Personalized suggestions for places to go and things to do, access to super-secret coupons and discounts at local attractions, amazing home cooked breakfasts and evening snacks, but best of all was that feeling of coming home to your favorite Auntie who wanted to hear all about your day! Mary Ann and her dad are funny, sweet, innkeepers who have never met a stranger. Easy to find with quick access to local conveniences. Thanks Mary Ann! See you soon! read more

The Mt. Washington B & B is a charming, home away from home with wonderful views of Mt. Washington. We have been staying at this B & B for over 10 years and it has become a tradition to come up with friends every Labor Day weekend. We have stayed is almost every room and all the rooms are very comfortable with unique personal touches. The best hiking trails, scenic views, wild life, shopping, and restaurants are close by. The Inn Keeper is a wonderful person who always greets you with a big smile and makes you feel right at home. One of my favorite things about staying at this B & B is the wonderful homemade breakfasts that awaits you each morning. You can also anticipate a freshly baked desert when you return after a long day of hiking. This is the Best B & B in New Hampshire. read more

We stayed there over President's weekend. We were greeted prompt upon arrival, and our room was ready and waiting for us. She had prepared a birthday treat for us and the breakfasts are always top notch. We went there without much of an itinerary, and she helped us find a new great place to eat, and suggested some fun things to do in the area. When we got to the room it was quiet and relaxing. The sleep was great. Will be going back again soon. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. Maryann in awesome and she will do anything she can to make your stay comfortable. This is a bed and breakfast so if you are looking for a hotel like place it might not be for you. It is a comfortable place and I felt at home but better. No noise, birds come up to the feeders and you can watch them. This is a place to relax with a good book and enjoy time with loved ones. While I was here I enjoyed the beautiful property and scenery. I felt I did not need a TV to keep me entertained. I have never felt so relaxed with great company. Maryann was an angel in disguise and helped me plan my days and gave me great ideas on what to do. To make it better her breakfast was delicious (stuffed french toast, specialty eggs). This place exceeded my expect ions. The area was wonderful and the people were very courteous and helpful. Words can not express how much I loved staying with Maryann in her house. I would highly recommend. read more

At 11:30pm my hiking partner and I found ourselves requiring a place to stay for the evening. We were content with any accommodations from Mary Ann, owner of the Mt. Washington B&B, and we were adorned with her hospitality and sincere personality. Mary Ann graciously prepared a fantastic meal for us after midnight, afterwards we exchanged wonderful conversation. Through many acts Mary Ann displayed her courteous and warm personality; which are two of the numerous factors fostering a homelike environment. The Mt. Washington B&B is clean, tidy and has an abundance of local information. A stay at the Mt. Washington B&B provides you with a delicious home cooked meal, a clean and comforting environment surrounded by a nearly pristine countryside. Do not miss your opportunity to have a wonderful experience! read more

On New Year's Eve 2016 some where between 11-11:30pm I found myself as well as my hiking partner in a jam recovering from a whirlwind mount Washington hike that went from success to sour due to a rugged wintry blizzard that shattered the white mts leading us to hunker down on the wrong side. we needed a place to stay non-the-less seeing how we were 30 miles from our cars and 100's of miles from our New Year's Eve plans, but miraculously from the help of local Gorham New Hampshire authorities and the profoundness and generosity of the Mt. Washington Bed and Breakfast both my good friend and I were welcomed with open arms. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. The rustic feel of the guest rooms had a particular feel of cozy (you'll see).. overall it was a god send on such a rough night and Mary ann the inn keeper really took it upon herself to make us feel warm and safe when we needed it most. read more

History
Established in 1999.
The Mt. Washington Bed & Breakfast was built in the mid 1800's and has been an Inn since it was built. A family owned and operated business, the bed & breakfast offers 7 guest rooms, all with private baths. The Bed & Breakfast was on the Underground Railroad. It was known as Grove Cottage until 1929 when it became the Androscoggin Inn. That name was unavailable to us when we purchased the inn in 1999, so we named it the Mt. Washington Bed & Breakfast.

The Mt Washington bed and breakfast is a great place to stay for a weekend away from it all. The solitude of the White Mountains is echoed through this B and B. It is a welcome relief from the craziness of life. After long summers, my friends and I look forward to our stay at the Mt Washington B and B. Our traditional welcome to fall comes after a weekend of hiking in the white mountains and coming back to a relaxing bath and hanging out with friends in this beautiful bed and breakfast. I wouldn't think of spending the time anywhere else. read more

We have stayed here year after year when we go hiking! The innkeeper is wonderful. She will get you anything you need, just ask. The BnB is charming, very relaxing - a great place to get away from every day life. It is perfect for the couple getting away for a romantic weekend as it is for the group of hikers that relax by the fire at the end of the day and put together a puzzle. read more
