    Amusing seating at Wildcats!
    Patricia P.

Another great find in the White Mountain Region of NH!!!! We were a bit hesitant to try this place because it offered the cheapest price per meal in the area with free live music!!! Well.. we are very glad we went!!! The Wildcat Inn is at the entrance of Jackson right after you go through the covered bridge... The restaurant offers two choices for seating, the more romantic quiet seating area or by the bar area where the live music is heard!!! We sat by the bar area which was very spacious and offered interesting décor and seating arrangements. On this day, there was an Irish band playing!!! Our waiter promptly acknowledge us with menus and placed water on our table without having to ask! It was a Wednesday evening and on this day, the restaurant has the special of two dinners for $27! A steal!!! We started with a cup of their incredible lobster bisque!!! It was creamy and delightfully seasoned!!! As an entrée, my husband had the Seafood pasta, a garlicky creamy pasta with plenty of shrimp, lobster and scallops, delightful! I had the Haddock Spinach Florentine with wild rice and my new favorite green vegetable, fiddleheads!!!! Never had this before and I absolutely loved it!!! The fish was fresh and cooked just right!! I am truly sorry that our phones were out of battery by the time the food came out and could not post pictures of these delightful dishes!!! Overall, this restaurant became instantly our favorite in the area because of the food, great service and ambience!!!

I'm reviewing the accomodations part. Booked on booking.com I had no idea what to expect. The price was the cheapest I had found in all surrounding towns, cheaper by about $50! I had to snag it up asap which is what I did. The room we got actually is two rooms. A living room with a small couch and tv and the bedroom has the bathroom as well. I feel lucky having an en suite bathroom at an inn. Check in was easy and finding the room was easy. I'd love to come back in the future.

Wonderful warm & serve thanksgiving dinner today. Simple to prepare. Huge portions of flavorful moist turkey. The cranberry relish, squash and roasted root vegetables were the bomb.

Sat at the bar, had great cocktails, expertly made by Rebecca. Highly recommend the lobster quesadilla...OMG!... Fantastic. Met fun people, nice evening.

Three meek meows for The Cat. Nice little cozy place to hang out. A fireplace and a few comfy spots to sit but mostly beat-on tables and chairs that show the wears of many years of post-skiing rumpus and partying. Nothing fancy here. The menu is actually pretty good in terms of a few gourmet-ish dishes as well as the usual tavern fare of burgers and varied sammies. We were here at about 4 p.m. and had the place to ourselves as dinner starts at 5 p.m.. We went willy-nilly before choosing the BBQ Wings and a couple of brewskis. They were out of the brewski that I requested so I got a "subbie." No biggie (smalls). The wings were ten bucks and tasted OK and were pretty crispy but were a wicked teenie portion. The dood who brought them out provided no plates or napkins. We had to flag him down for plates and nappies. He brought the plates but spaced out on the nappies and so I got them myself. No biggie. We looked over the dinner menu and asked questions to the server and finally decided on our order only to have him realize after a half hour that he gave us the lunch menus. He left and swapped 'em out for the diner menus. No biggie. Moey got the Classic Burger sans the tomater and onion. It was OK and had a branded-logo bun which was somewhat festivus. I got two apps as my main. Duck Bacon Wrapped Scallops and Oyster Mushroom Crostinis. These were actually pretty good and well plated and no complaints except that the scallops were massively undercooked literally rendering them completely raw nearly throughout. No biggie? Luckily, I have an iron stomach so I ate them anyway -as Rick Perry would say, "Why not?" The server was a friendly enough dood but was wicked forgetful and unobservant. The final bill was a couple bucks higher than the one he gave me initially. I didn't bother asking why this was as it was not worth any more confusion. No biggie. The Cat is an OK place but not somewhere I'd recommend other than a place that is average but pricey and has a few decent non-pub foodstuffs. Additionally, it had too many "no biggies" for my taste. The coupe de gras was the rotting pumpkin outside the entrance. No biggie... C U soon, YELPers and fellow ski hodads.

Cold wings that were just re heated in microwave and "their version" of Bruschetta which anyone else would call pizza

Great food, great staff, great music. Knocked a star off because there are curtains instead of doors in the bathrooms which is very odd.

Our room was stunning. My fiancé pre planned and had rose petals, candles, and champagne all set up by the staff for us. (Additional charge). There was a hot tub for two, a shower for two, and a nice additional seating area. In the morning there was fresh orange juice, coffee, and homemade options such as muffins and pastries. There were also some yogurt, fruit, and granola. Saturday night there was a complimentary cheese and wine night! They offered a mixed variety of cheeses, meats, and crackers. They also had two wine options, and a non alcoholic bubbly option. There was a huge almost pool sized hot tub, which could easily fit 16-20 people. They keep the water at a mild temperature, so that all can enjoy. On site, there was also an enormous work out room and an infrared sauna. There were quite a few amenities in the work out room - including a putting mat, a golf swing machine, a full body massage chair, a foot massager, and countless other options. We would recommended this place to any and everyone. The famous mulled cider candles are available for 21$ to purchase, we got a few. We have previously stayed…read moreat the Omni Mount Washington on similar visits, but this time, I wanted a bigger room and to be closer to Story Land. This fit the bill, for about half the cost I rented one of the Fairlawn cottage suites, which included an updated guest room with a king sized bed; gas fireplace; a separate little living area with a pullout couch, which could be closed off by a set of glass French doors; and most importantly, our own private outdoor hot tub on a little covered porch off the bathroom (huge hit). My son and I were both very comfortable sharing this large, luxurious feeling space. The $30 per night resort fee includes access to amenities like a heated outdoor pool, which looked nice (we didn't use it, due to cooler air temps during our stay), various sports like tennis (which we also didn't use) and a shared self-serve pantry downstairs, for soft drinks, snacks and basic breakfast items. I agree with other posters who said that the pantry included nice choices but was not stocked consistently. On our first night, there was a nice selection of gelato in the freezer. The second night it was empty. On our second morning, they were super low on caffeinated coffee pods at 7 am, so I rationed my portions in consideration of other guests. The main restaurant looked too fancy for my five year old, but I wanted to check out the on site dining options so I made a reservation to eat at the Alpine Lodge for night two. We arrived just before 6, after a long day at Story Land. There was no one around to greet us or take us to our table. I waited around for a while, then guided my son to one of the many open tables. There was calm but upbeat live music, which we both liked. The bartender was warm, kind and also clearly overwhelmed. I tried to get the attention of the lounge server but she completely ignored us. It took close to two hours to get a cheeseburger and a plate of chicken tenders. I didn't even complain, but the bartender still comped one of my glasses of wine and was super apologetic. Overall, there were a couple of minor kinks but the inn felt like a great value. I've already recommended it to friends and family members and would stay there again.

This is one of our favorite spots, as it is such a relaxing and welcoming place. Our technicians were Meaghan and Heather, who both did a wonderful job. They made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our services. We appreciated being able to use the steam room and shower following the services, with their lovely shampure products. We felt so rejuvenated upon leaving here. In past visits, we were able to get more services and at longer durations. Unfortunately, that has changed. This wasn't communicated and there was an issue with scheduling our services. When we received the initial confirmation, everything looked fine (services and durations) aside from it stating "body polish" instead of "body scrub". I was assured that it would be a scrub, regardless of what the confirmation said. Unfortunately, the day before our services the confirmation email had different durations of services. When I called to inquire, I hadn't received a call back, however it was addressed immediately upon our arrival. They noted that our call was received and said they figured they would wait until they saw us. I wish it had been addressed ahead of time, as we had to make a quick decision on the spot regarding our services. I would have preferred time to think it over. Also, the polish was in fact a polish and not a scrub, which was not what was wanted nor expected. Overall, we had a great time and would go back! This has become a staple for our white mountain trips. The services are always great, the staff is always friendly, and we always leave feeling refreshed! The only downside was the lack of communication/scheduling error, which has never been a problem in our countless other visits here.
