    Breakfast at The Inn

A wonderful place! Running a B&B cannot be an easy business, but the folks at Ellis River make their guests feel welcome and well-fed. The rooms are very nice and well-kept, even with lesser levels of housekeeping lodging establishments are known for these days. A/C is terrific (we went in August 2023), hot water is plentiful and high pressure, sitting areas indoors and outside are lovely. And of course the breakfasts! So creative and good! Something different every morning you're there. Proximity to the attractions in the White Mountains is very close.

The room was excellent, the hot tub and fireplace lovely. This spot was charming with a great location right in town, walking distance to some bars and restaurants. John, Mary, Christine, and Chantelle have a great operation ranging from the first class breakfast to the clean and quaint rooms. They also arranged a lovely package for my boyfriend's birthday with cake and champagne. Overall, spot was both affordable and had a great value proposition, plenty of bang for your buck with classic New England accommodations and friendly service

The Inn at Ellis River is phenomenal! Mary and John are exceptional hosts and did everything to make our stay perfect. Breakfast is provided every morning with something yummy either eggs or something on the sweet side such as fresh pancakes plus delicious crispy bacon! If you're not able to make breakfast because you are hiking in the area which the area is great for, they will make sure to pack you a delicious to go breakfast with granola, breads and fruit. The room which my boyfriend and I stayed in had a beautiful fireplace which we made use of and had wonderful cozy nights. Right behind the inn is a nice little stream which you can either sit besides on chairs provided or take a dip in. If it's raining, the inn has a beautiful game room/ bar and lots of books laying around. Thank you Mary and John for making our first time a memorable one and surely not our last ! Hope to see you both soon!

Our first time here, it looks nice. We were in need of this weekend getaway. Friendly and clean. We stayed in the cottage, which was the extra privacy we needed. Bacon was good as people say. Comfortable room with a Jacuzzi and fireplace. Unwind at the end of the day at the bar for a drink while you play a game of checkers or pool. We would come back if in the area. Was a tad pricey $$$.

Wonderful Inn. Been here several times and will come back. Well kept rooms, friendly staff, and great breakfasts.

We have previously stayed…read moreat the Omni Mount Washington on similar visits, but this time, I wanted a bigger room and to be closer to Story Land. This fit the bill, for about half the cost I rented one of the Fairlawn cottage suites, which included an updated guest room with a king sized bed; gas fireplace; a separate little living area with a pullout couch, which could be closed off by a set of glass French doors; and most importantly, our own private outdoor hot tub on a little covered porch off the bathroom (huge hit). My son and I were both very comfortable sharing this large, luxurious feeling space. The $30 per night resort fee includes access to amenities like a heated outdoor pool, which looked nice (we didn't use it, due to cooler air temps during our stay), various sports like tennis (which we also didn't use) and a shared self-serve pantry downstairs, for soft drinks, snacks and basic breakfast items. I agree with other posters who said that the pantry included nice choices but was not stocked consistently. On our first night, there was a nice selection of gelato in the freezer. The second night it was empty. On our second morning, they were super low on caffeinated coffee pods at 7 am, so I rationed my portions in consideration of other guests. The main restaurant looked too fancy for my five year old, but I wanted to check out the on site dining options so I made a reservation to eat at the Alpine Lodge for night two. We arrived just before 6, after a long day at Story Land. There was no one around to greet us or take us to our table. I waited around for a while, then guided my son to one of the many open tables. There was calm but upbeat live music, which we both liked. The bartender was warm, kind and also clearly overwhelmed. I tried to get the attention of the lounge server but she completely ignored us. It took close to two hours to get a cheeseburger and a plate of chicken tenders. I didn't even complain, but the bartender still comped one of my glasses of wine and was super apologetic. Overall, there were a couple of minor kinks but the inn felt like a great value. I've already recommended it to friends and family members and would stay there again.

The onsite restaurants are both excellent and the bar has a nice vibe. The bar closes a little early for our taste, but that's not the end of the world. We are so glad that we did because it's become our favorite resort-type experience in the White Mtns.

There was a hot tub for two, a shower for two, and a nice additional seating area. In the morning there was fresh orange juice, coffee, and homemade options such as muffins and pastries. There were also some yogurt, fruit, and granola. Saturday night there was a complimentary cheese and wine night! They offered a mixed variety of cheeses, meats, and crackers. They also had two wine options, and a non alcoholic bubbly option. There was a huge almost pool sized hot tub, which could easily fit 16-20 people. They keep the water at a mild temperature, so that all can enjoy. On site, there was also an enormous work out room and an infrared sauna. There were quite a few amenities in the work out room - including a putting mat, a golf swing machine, a full body massage chair, a foot massager, and countless other options. We would recommended this place to any and everyone. The famous mulled cider candles are available for 21$ to purchase, we got a few. This is one of our favorite spots, as it is such a relaxing and welcoming place. Our technicians were Meaghan and Heather, who both did a wonderful job. They made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our services. We appreciated being able to use the steam room and shower following the services, with their lovely shampure products. We felt so rejuvenated upon leaving here. In past visits, we were able to get more services and at longer durations. Unfortunately, that has changed. This wasn't communicated and there was an issue with scheduling our services. When we received the initial confirmation, everything looked fine (services and durations) aside from it stating "body polish" instead of "body scrub". I was assured that it would be a scrub, regardless of what the confirmation said. Unfortunately, the day before our services the confirmation email had different durations of services. When I called to inquire, I hadn't received a call back, however it was addressed immediately upon our arrival. They noted that our call was received and said they figured they would wait until they saw us. I wish it had been addressed ahead of time, as we had to make a quick decision on the spot regarding our services. I would have preferred time to think it over. Also, the polish was in fact a polish and not a scrub, which was not what was wanted nor expected. Overall, we had a great time and would go back! This has become a staple for our white mountain trips. The services are always great, the staff is always friendly, and we always leave feeling refreshed! The only downside was the lack of communication/scheduling error, which has never been a problem in our countless other visits here.
