Not a bad place, but it you don't own a dog- stay away. When the heat came on my dog allergy kicked in big time. There's no avoiding it. Great view. The food is ok, it's food. The restaurant was closed and food was being served in the bar. When we arrived, the pool was broken so that sucked. Everything done right at this hotel. Super friendly staff, clean, updated, and 24-7 coffee in the lobby. Renovations underway promising a new bar, and a very nice pool. Lovely patio area, with open fire. The VIEWS are stunning!!!And worth every cent. Top floors do not have deck off rooms. Also, Mt. Washington view may be a little more expensive. We were traveling to the White Mountains with our dad who uses a wheelchair. Trying to find ADA accessible lodging and a hotel with king beds is not easy in ski country! Thankfully we found The Glen House. Dad had a great ADA accessible room and enjoyed hanging out near the fireplace in the main lobby. The restaurant had a small but adequate menu and the staff were fantastic including the bartender who makes tasty drinks. The fitness room is small but has cardio and weight equipment and there is a small pool too. Right at the base of Mt Washington, the Glen House offers sweet views and prime access to the Glen Trails. read more

We had several drinks in the lobby bar which were delicious. HOWEVER the mattresses seem to be forged from the very stones of the white mountains themselves. This is one of the nicest places I have visited and stayed. I really can't stop singing there praises. From the moment you drive up and see the breath taking views you immediately know why it's hard to get a reservation. It's new, updated and warm. The rooms are clean and very comfy. The lobby is inviting and just a wonderful area to chill, eat or have a glass of wine. The staff was so friendly and warm we just felt right at home. We tried the bar menu and the food options all sounded good. We ordered the flatbread with mushrooms and a burger both were equally delicious and filling. The red wine was delicious and ambiance was inviting. They have a large fire pit facing the mountains with big comfy chairs. We enjoyed this for a few days while there. I can't recommend this hotel enough. The location is wonderful and it's easy to get around. They have several areas that accommodate dining so there's something for all. Also the beds felt new and they were very comfy. The shower is large and spacious and they provide wonderful products to use. read more

This past weekend, my husband and I stayed at The Gleen House for the first time and brought our dog with us. We specifically chose this hotel because it is advertised as pet-friendly and "welcoming to animals." When making the reservation, we even had to prepay a $40 daily pet fee -- which made us believe pets were truly welcome. However, our experience was extremely disappointing. When we arrived on the evening of October 17th around 7:40 p.m., we were greeted by a front desk attendant who was anything but friendly. She had just returned from the restaurant with a plate of food and seemed far more interested in eating than helping guests. Her responses were short, dismissive, and unpleasant. After checking in, we left our dog in the room to have dinner at the hotel's restaurant. About 15 minutes after placing our order, the same receptionist called my husband saying there had been a complaint that our dog was barking and that we "needed to deal with it." My husband politely explained that we were having dinner, and she rudely replied that she didn't care what we were doing -- that we had to return to the room immediately or she would call the police. He tried to reason with her, explaining that barking is a natural behavior for dogs and that, in a pet-friendly hotel, some tolerance is expected. She continued to be rude, saying we "should know how to control him," and abruptly hung up after saying she would call her manager. This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable. She could have spoken to us politely or tried to understand why the dog was barking -- instead, she ruined our evening. We had to abandon our dinner and go back to the room. We don't know the receptionist's name, and honestly, we didn't even want to ask after the way she treated us. Our weekend was completely ruined, and we paid a high nightly rate only to be treated with such disrespect. We will never return to this hotel, and I truly hope management addresses this behavior so no other guest goes through what we did. read more

Best place we have stayed in the area. The price, the location the VIEW it was the perfect little escape up north. Just a short drive to Santa's village and Conway. Loved the rooms very clean, the bar/restaurant was a 10/10 and did I mention THE VIEW!! Wake up early before the hustle and bustle and just take it in, you will not be disappointed. The ONLY thing I would change is the pool had no Hot tub or Sauna. It would have been outstanding if it had that element but that's just personal preference. The kids loved the pool. 10/10 read more

Enjoyed our multi night stay but ran into a few minor flaws. Our room had two big issues. We kept hearing a loud door slam, I think, right below our room located over the restaurant side of the hotel. Literally shook the room every time! Luckily, it stopped by bedtime. The doors to rooms are ridiculous heavy fire doors, so maybe that's just a design flaw. (Certainly appreciate fire doors for safety, of course). There was also a low humming we could not put our finger on. Again, maybe from being on the restaurant side of the hotel? There is an exhaust fan mounted on that side of the building. We eventually tuned that noise out with the a/c running. In the hotel lobby/atrium, there was limited seating to me, and state rules posted about taking alcohol in certain areas. Staff will come and correct you if you stray. Everywhere we wanted to sit and relax, there was a cluster of people and activity (ie. not a lot of private, quiet spaces). It's definitely a quaint & lively vibe. Finally, I would say this hotel leans into kid friendly. We saw many young couples with 1 or 2 kids. We dont have kids, so just something to think about during your dinner at their restaurant, or when wanting to chill by the bar that shares a large common atrium with hotel guests, including families. You might be enjoying a cocktail sitting arms-length from kids playing chess at a coffee table. Absolute highlights were the spacious shower, comfy beds, and walking paths in the field just in front of the hotel. We stumbled on the walking paths, and it was STUNNING!! Oh, and the spectacular views of the Presidential Mountains, of course, made this place unique with an upscale rustic feel. read more

The hotel is located at the base of Mount Washington it is the perfect place for exploring all of the great trails and activities in the area. The hotel has wonderful views of Mount Washington and a system of trails easily accessed behind the hotel. Rooms are clean and modern with an outside deck space. The hotel has a small salt water pool, at this time you must reserve a time to use it due to COVID restrictions. There is a small gym that was very clean. Dinner and breakfast at the on site restaurant was very good. Service at the bar was a bit slow, but there is a wonderful back deck with fire pit to enjoy the view of Mount Washington. read more

Check in and out was smooth, our room was spacious and clean and the hotel restaurant was convenient and good. We honestly didn't spend much time at the hotel since we were out all day doing things. These poor people really need help here. The view is spectacular but the the staff have great attitudes which is why I'm giving 4 stars; but they appear to be rudderless. We were seated in a dated dining room rather than the grand lounge with the spectacular view for brunch. Such an odd choice. They sell alcohol in the AM so, why stuff people in a windowless room? The food was really terrible. Lots of help is needed in the kitchen. Perhaps a competent experience restaurant manager to get these well meaning folks on track. I won't be indiscreet and relay what we were told by the restaurant staff about the state of things but whomever owns this hotel needs to send them help, pronto. read more

This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Period. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was lovely (and I suggest you splurge for the mountain view patio). The bed and pillows were SO comfortable. The sheets were like butter, and you could TELL they were high-end. I slept SO well there (and I have difficulty getting a good night's rest while traveling). The Notche Grille downstairs also had lovely food and service - we had both breakfast and dinner. My only "complaint" (and it's a really minor one) is that I didn't like the sliding bathroom door in the room, as it was a little heavy and loud when opening/closing. Honestly, it's so minor compared to how nice the place was in general. Either way, I highly recommend this place (and the drive up Mount Washington). read more

From registering to checking out, the front desk staff was helpful and friendly. They directed us to the best route and informed us of things to see on the drive around Mount Washington. Servers were accommodating and friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. We especially loved the view from our balcony and absolutely loved walking the Glen Trails behind the hotel. We found this place on Hoteltonight's app. We decided that it was a great value and next door to the Mt. Washington auto drive. We stayed here for a couple days, and it truly enjoyed it. The back deck overlooks Mount Washington. The hotel is super clean. The staff is absolutely great. Our hotel room was very clean, modern, and roomy (Sorry for the pun). The bathroom is really big and has a really cool yet modern barn door. It's close to everything but not too close. There's a town up the street that has little restaurants, a great coffee place, and Walmart. Behind this hotel is not only the view of Mount Washington, but a whole circuit of bike paths. You can rent bikes across the street. The hotel gives discounts on bike rentals and the auto road up to Mount Washington. North Conway is not very far either. We will DEFINITELY POSITIVELY stay here again!!! read more

We were thoroughly impressed with our stay at the Glen House. The view from our King View room was impressive. Completely stunning. The staff was always friendly & helpful. (The guest rooms have no ice buckets, but they're glad to hook you up at the Front Desk!) The property is new, immaculate and properly appointed. It's about 15 minutes to great dining in Jackson and about 10 minutes to Gorham. (About 35 minutes to the Black Cap Grille in North Conway, next to the LL Bean Outlet.) Breakfast was tasty at the Notch Grille, and conveniently downstairs. We easily scheduled pool time (a COVID-19 protocol, which honestly, I hope sticks around!) and enjoyed a steamy dip while the outside temperature was a brisk 4°. Great location at Great Glen Trails with cross country skiing, tubing, hiking, snowshoeing and it's at the base of the Auto road. read more

The glen house is a new modern hotel at the base of Mt Washington. We just chanced upon finding this beautiful hotel. With mile long views from rooms or the fire pit back porch. Miles of beautiful mapped hiking trails. A nice restaurant and bar, salt water indoor pool, fitness center, free coffee/tea, nearby a ski resort and the most fabulous room. As cold as you want (no Redhot Moments here). Pure luxurious enjoyment. My new favorite place tucked away in the mountains. They even have two EV chargers. If you are coming anywhere near Mt. We were here around Memorial Day Weekend. What a place to be! I mean, you can't get any closer to Mt. Washington. The hotel is basically right at the base. The room was wonderful (I had the best showers of my life there), the beds were comfortable, the staff was amazing. The pool room was gorgeous and the pool was fantastic, albeit small. If i remember correctly, we had to sign up for a slot to use it for COVID Safety measures. This is the only place we'll ever stay when we want to come up here. We had such a nice stay at the Glen House. The weather was so beautiful so we spent the afternoon on our deck. There was plenty of seating down by the fire pit too. We were so happy to be able to bring our dog. The hotel was super clean. Also, the restaurant was excellent. We are looking forward to returning this summer and fall! The room was nice and big. The pillows on the bed were way too big. The bar sold us a bottle of wine and then the only place we could drink it was outside. All the bar seating was reserved. We came in the night after and brought glasses of wine from the bottle we bought the night before and they wouldn't let us drink it in the bar. We picked this hotel because it had beautiful public places but every place was on reservation so the only place to drink the bottle of wine we bought from them was our room. Bartenders and bar manager appear to be there to chitchat, not to keep things moving. The hotel still has that "new" feel, and proved to be a fancier version of a Hampton inn. What's good: Comfy beds Modern bathroom Clean lobby Funky bar / lounge area Free cookies and hot chocolate in lobby Dog friendly What's not so good Thin walls; you can hear the neighbors TV The pool is tiny; maybe 20 foot by 15 foot? Not a lap pool. We did not get breakfast, or try the tiny fitness center. 10 minute drive outside center of town or Jackson, so location is only good if driving the Mt Washington road (across the street) In summary: wouldn't bother staying again for leisure. $300 room for the equivalent of a Hampton Inn with a nice view. read more

Had a great stay here for 4 nights - the staff was engaging and pleasant. The restaurant had delicious food that was served hot for breakfast and for dinner (suggest reservations even for guests). We had several things for dinner which were all surprisingly good, and the burger was a 10 - cooked as ordered and so juicy and flavorful that ketchup should be avoided. The place was super clean with a great rear-facing view. We didn't walk them, but there are extensive grid of wide/stone trails right out the back of the hotel. Relaxed atmosphere, families and couples, day-hikers. They have an indoor salt water pool (pretty small, though). The hotel is adjacent to the Mt Washington auto road. The price was too steep for us, but the rear-facing balcony rooms looked fantastic, especially the 2nd floor which offer protection from rain. read more

Please avoid if you're driving an electric car. Per manager's policy all the parking spots, including the 2 EV spots, are first come first serve. That resulted in gas cars constantly parking there with the receptionist refusing to even place a notice on their windshield or take any other action. All this with plenty of regular parking spots available. In the attached picture a f150 truck that used that spot 3 days in a row. The small pool located on premise allowed up to 10 guests which is a joke and gross negligence during covid times. We were assured that if there are any dogs barking in the rooms they will contact the owners to return to the room and calm their dog. I had a dog barking for an hour while on a conference call and no one seemed to care. Manager Thomas Spaulding mentioned they have plenty good reviews and if their hotel wasn't a fit for me I should find better accommodations in the future. read more
