I've only ever been to this station coming from or going to LaGuardia Airport. The surrounding area doesn't look all too pleasant, but there's usually a group of fellow travelers waiting for the Q70-SBS bus which will take you to the airport. There are plenty of signs at the station that tell you where to wait for that bus and which terminal to go for each airline. FYI, this bus is currently fare-free. read more

In spite of my transitions to this station being nerve racking due to there being many travelers in-and-out, it was convenient, a money saver, and a relief because it connected me to the transits enroute to my destinations. This is a very efficient subway station. Usually I take the R, or F if I am heading to 71st Continental station. The 7 train platform outside does seem too crowded at times but it is something we just need when transferring here in the city. Do not actually come to this station too often but if I see the occasional Mets game at Citifield, can transfer at this station. So will be seeing this station soon, not really but it is possible with the summer here in full swing. read more

Also known as the Jackson Heights stop this is a very busy station. It is one of the bigger subway hubs in Queens as you can transfer between the E, F, R and M trains on the same platform as well as the 7 train on a different platform. The E, F, R and M trains are indoors and the 7 line's station is above ground and outdoors so be wary of that during the super hot and super cold months. There are plenty of bus lines that stop at this station including the buses to get to LaGuardia Airport. There are stores here as well and I believe a bank as well(think its Bank of America) as this station is so big. Usually very busy and all of the platforms have the train trackers to tell you which train is next and when they are coming. read more

I was expecting a different station but this is where the Q70 bus from Laguardia dropped us off. So here we are. And it was the right metro line, the 7 train from here to Manhattan. Okee dokee. Trying to not look like a complete tourist, I paid the $2.75 fare at the machine and got a paper Metrocard except the dang thing wouldn't scan. Ugh! So I had to wait at the kiosk for the transit operator to look at it and tell me to go through the gate. Welcome to New York, eh? This station has trains for the E, F, M, R and 7. It could be a little confusing but the signage was clear enough and I followed the arrows to the right track and worked out that I wanted the Manhattan-bound trains. This one was on the top level so a few sets of stairs with my suitcase to get there. I believe there is an elevator but I was not interested in the smell of urine today and did not have that much time. On the platform (remember, top level), decent cover from the sun and if it were precipitating. Some spots to lean and never stand too close to the edge. That's how I operate. I have been to traveling through this station for years .I would take the train from parson and archer subway station to roosevelt ave.and transfer to the 7 train going to good old willets point the old shea stadium stop on the 7 train remember that 1986 mets championship team doc Gooden darryl strawberry flushing meadows will always be connected to the amazing mets one of the greatest times in queens for sports I remember that day I was a kid. or going to flushing meadows park or to the us open when I was a land scaper for flushing meadow park. This train station is a main source of getting to flushing queens from Jamaica by train for alot of people. And the 7 train at this station also takes you to Manhattan st 34 & 42st .thats a pulse for people commuting from main st last stop on the 7 or other places in flushing. So believe it or not this is a very significant train station in queens history. read more

This station is located in a cool area. It's Jackson Heights. This is the closest subway to LaGuardia. Busses take you there from here. This is a stop for many trains. If you're at this station you can get to many parts of the city. It's one of the busiest stations in the MTA system. This is the first stop out of LaGuardia for the Q70 bus, and here you can connect to a train. It serves a number of lines. This serves the E, F, M, R, and 7 trains. The station gets so crazy crowded. It's busy all times especially rush hour. There's some cool ethnic restaurants and stores around it. read more

This is my new way to get to/from LGA. Taking the Q70 is much faster than the M60. The Q70 from here goes directly to LGA, while the M60 makes many stops. For me the E or R train is the most convenient to get to this station from where I stay while in Manhattan. Speaking of Manhattan, which is super touristy for good reason. However once your done with all that must see stuff, take a train and get off here and explore. It's neighborhoods like these that you get to know the real NY, from food to eclectic shops. The station itself is large, gritty, and busy. read more

I have a love hate relationship w this station it is a very busy station u get the option of the 7 line above ground then make your way down & u have the E , F , M & R lines. If you make your way outside of the station u have some Bus service as well as Bus service to LGA airport taking the bus to the airport is actually quite easy to do. The common area below is pretty big & as the years have gone by they have made some improvements , new stairs, elevators, time clocks, etc.. there is an ATM banking option(Bank of America) along w 1-2 shopping choices & a bathroom (in case of an emergency). This station can be quite the hot mess, the platform tends to get very crowded during rush hour, with no issues trains run relatively at a decent pace with issues it will take half your morning to make it in the city. read more

Very busy subway station. Jackson Height is one of the crowded subway in Queens. There are E, F, R, M, 7 and buses. It is a center of transportation and lots of stores, businesses, community and residents nearby. During the night this station still having any activity going on so I'm not really afraid to travel to this stop. read more

One of the busiest subway stations in all of NYC, 74th & Broadway plays host to the E, F, M, R subway trains and houses quite a few bus lines along the way. Smack dab in the heart of Jackson Heights, there is a lot more to this transit hub than meets the eye. For starters, it's constantly buzzing with people during all hours of the day and the crowds can be fierce. While the MTA Roosevelt/Jackson Heights E-F-M-R station doesn't have it's own Yelp listing, the 74th and Broadway 7 station does. They are essentially the same thing being across the street from each other and all. While the 74th station is only the 7 train the Roosevelt station is much more because of the multiple lines and platforms but not to mention it's also a bus hub for the Q33, Q49 and the Q70-SBS. It's important to point out that from LGA bus options are limited. Last time going to LGA we took the M60 from Astoria station in Queens but I learned because of the stairs there that if you have luggage, don't go to Astoria since it's elevated and you need to get to ground level to get to the M60. This time around taking the Q70-SBS from LGA this bus will take you right into the Jackson Heights station and since our hotel was in SoHo close to the Canal Street N-Q-R-W this station was perfect because all we'd have to do is just take the R and not have to transfer to another train. What makes this station even better is that there are elevators for the street level to the mezzanine level to get to the Manhattan bound platforms. If you have a wheel chair, baby strollers or in our case, luggage (we came from LGA) Roosevelt/Jackson Heights is the way to go to or from LGA. For the buses, there are 3 platforms outside and you have to get your receipt for payment (or free transfer) on the bus platform before boarding the bus. Simply swipe your Metro card at the machine. If you're within 2 hours of your last swipe at a valid transfer point your Metro card won't be deducted another 2.75. If you're riding the bus AND subway and coming from LGA have each person get a Metro card. While you can pass back cards on the subway turnstiles you can't use the transfer option for multiple people on a single Metro card so each rider should get their own card. It's basically one extra dollar to get a new Metro card if you don't already have one to load up. read more

This is the first train station in Queens that I got comfortable with when I became a displaced Manhattan brat. What's there to not love? Several trains go through here that make it easy peasy to get to Manhattan, Brooklyn and if you're interested, le Bronx. Trains that go through here include: F, E, N and R. Some interesting shops here too like the Backwoods store which sells some really awesome and colorful clothes, jewelry and other types of accessories that can jazz up any outfit. I'm knocking off 2 stars because sometimes it gets SUPER crowded, people can be insanely rude and sometimes (seriously sometimes because most of the times is isn't too bad) it could be cleaner. read more

Transfer subway if you are traveling to or from manhattan to LGA airport. Not as nice as the other major subway stop locations and trying to figure out which bus stop you needed to transfer too was slightly confusing with no workers in site to help. Locals and police officers helped us a lot here. read more

The thought of this train station makes me cry. OVERLY packed with people and very rude people :) however, the station itself is your typical NYC subway. However! I can complain about the bus terminal. Hands down, the worst terminal EVER. There are never ever busses, the guys who walk around pretending to 'work' are so useless. I sometimes take the 7 or walk home because it's literally a hot mess. They do have a store instead with good cheap finds ;) that's pro. read more

This subway stop get shytier and shytier by the day. Cons: 1) One of the most crowded subway platform for both inbound 7 train and connecting E and F trains. This also includes outbound towards Manhattan. A straight clusterfu_k. 2) I'm not sure if this is a language barrier lost in translation lost in a fat whale's water spout but people at this particular station ignore the "stand aside and let others off the train first rule." Am I suppose to climb over you? Am I suppose to jump on top of you and ride the wave like at an EDM or rock concert? Should I do the Arian Foster? I'm just as confused as you are but how about let's say you move aside so we can get off and you can get on so we can both move on with our lives? At this station neither of those are feasible. I'm willing to think that maybe there should be signs posted in Spanish in BOLD so that these bumblefu_ks can understand. Pros: ? Not a fan. read more

Much like the minds of most Yelpers, this place is filthy! Just kidding, just kidding. It's not that dirty! All joking aside, this is a huge intermodal transit hub that features an elevated train, subways and bus connections. It's here where you can pick up the limited bus to LaGuardia, catch the 7 train to Citi Field, catch the E train to Sutphin Blvd to get the Air Train to JFK or hop an E/F express train to whisk you into Manhattan very quickly. There are local trains too (R/M) but we don't speak of local trains. This place is always bustling and the sheer streaming hordes of humanity really beat this place up. I think that's why it's always dirty, with trash, spilled liquids and mystery gunk on every level. It has a weird layout so if you want to go from the top to the bottom on elevators, I think you have to take at least 4 separate elevators. There are escalators in the middle and towards the front of the train (as you face Manhattan) but they are not always in service. It's a climb from the E train to the 7 train! If you're carrying something big, either plan on waiting for the multiple elevators or else have a strong back. I know it sounds like I'm hating on this place, but I give it three stars because it's really a critical hub of the transit system. If this place shut down for a day, it would cause mass chaos. So yes, even though it's dirty and smelly, it does its job. As others have noted, stepping out of this station can take you on a world tour as you walk through the streets of Jackson Heights. That also gives it a boost in my book. read more

This station is just 4 long blocks, or about 15 minutes from home. The station has 5 subway trains and 5 bus lines, 2 being terminals here. I like that they have elevators at its main station. The escalators are long, especially at at the 73rd entrance. During the rush hour, people from Flushing would transfer for the E or F trains for direct service. In the underground platforms, the Manhattan-bound E and F platforms are very crowded. It is better during the off-peak hours. When I take the 7 train home from College, the platform will be crowded during the rush hours. Since I get home at 8:45pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, the platforms are better. read more

I take the F train to this stop to take the 7 to go to Main street flushing. It's great since there's the F,E,R, and 7 trains here. Which is why there are always a lot of people (depending on the time of day) on the station. I love that the 7 train comes every 2 mins or so (seriously), so you really don't have to rush yourself if you missed the 7 train. read more

This station is usually a hot mess. I wish I could avoid it. That's where you can usually transfer to an express bound train to the city, instead of rotting on the 7 for any longer than you should. Escalators work half of the time. - The one set in the middle of the station is the worst, the narrowest and the most crowded in the station. Everyone will be on if they are coming to flushing and planning on transferring to the E, F or R This place is a major trap on weekends - when absolutely nothing works as it should. Make sure to check if the E & F are running local. They most likely will be and in both directions during the weekends. Good luck not boarding on a delayed and deplorable trap. This place is a crowded dump - with wifi at the lower platforms. read more

Above ground portion for the 7 is ok. Its not that bad except during rush hour evening and morning commute. Platform easily turn into a mecca of ants. Oh yeah, the elevator smells. Just be careful since it's always so slippery inside. Escalator works pretty good although it's tight as f88k. Now to the lower level, it's another story. Couple days ago had to wait for Queens bound R and it was so delayed the platform looked like a checkout line at Associated or KeyFood before Winter Storm. And no, this was not during the winter storm, just regular Friday commute after 4pm. There seems to be a lot of entertainment going on there. Chinese flute player, Beyonce wanna be, Christian preacher, Mexican folk music, street snack seller, etc. Welcome to Queens! read more

It's not a major transfer station where the F train from Manhattan connects to the 7 train. I believe the E and the N trains also stop here so it's the main access point to Flushing. The signage is pretty good. The 7 train requires you to go upstairs to the outdoor portion of the station. It's kind of unsettling that I felt the whole platform wobble when the train was approaching but I guess that's normal? read more

Let's just say this is the Grand central of queens, It's not as huge as grand central but it gets the job done. It has trains that go to the city, Brooklyn, the Bronx and even queens. Right outside the station their are buses that go to jfk airport, la guardia airport and to other parts of queens. If you don't like the bus then their are taxis waiting right outside to take you to your destination. read more

Jackson Heights, Queens, NY's a major connecting point for E, F, M, R, 7 trains at 74th Street and Broadway. This station is a mammoth labyrinth for winding stairs, stairs and passageways which takes almost ten minutes by foot to gain access to one platform. I understand this is one of the biggest stations in Queens. I understand that you can't pick up all the trash, or clean up all the puke, random liquids, etc. all at once. But i've been here for two hours now, and the same pile of puke has been sitting there. Someone clean it up! The booth representative is polite, she's not an ass (thank goodness!) and all of the machines work. The card readers are working and are accurate. Meaning they don't give card reader errors when you swipe your card properly. Overall, the station is good. Cant say the same for the cleanliness or the smell. . . read more

This station connects to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue on the E/M/R/F line. This particular part of the station is located outside so you will get cell reception. It's also a stop the 7 typically stops at & if you're lucky, you can get an express train here. That's happened to me a few times. read more

I have never been to NYC and was intimidated by navigating public transportation. The stop is right in the middle of an area with graffiti and street debris. This stop is where many buses drop off and pick up, and you can take several buses to La Guardia depending on which airline you are flying. The Q70 takes you to terminal B and others. If you are staying for three or more days and don't want to pay huge cab fares, buy an unlimited Metro pass for the week. Even when we were too tired to walk anymore, the subway got us to our destination faster and cheaper than any cab could. The subway connects right next to the bus stop. I dragged my suitcase to Chelsea, and it wasn't too bad. You have to lift your suitcase over the turns at the subway before you swipe the card or your pass will say already used if you swipe twice. This station has turned from a dead station to an alive station. I remember the Roosevelt ave station was an old, rundown two story building that has an office, a newsstand, an ice cream shop, and an OTB. The G train used to stop at this station. The new station looks more alive and at the mezzanine level, there's Bank of America, and an accessories store where they sell gypsy type dresses, and jewelries. read more

One of the less offensive subway stations in Queens. Five different train lines (E/F/M/R/7) connect here, and there are lots of buses just outside of the station, as well as cabs passing by. Signs are clear, there are almost always MTA employees and/or cops to be found, and there's a Bank of America ATM inside the station (underground- on the way to the E/F/M/R trains). read more

Dirty as you expect most subway stations to be but the 7 track is outdoors so you feel the elements more at this station inparticular. The elevators work well but they aren't quite as easy to access as they seem depending on what platform you're headed to. I have also been the lucky chap to walk into one of he elevators with a big suitcase and see the fresh pool of pee next to my feet. Mmm smell the aroma!
