Greenpoint has an okay MTA station. It looks average. Small station serving only one train. Area is kind of sketchy but up and coming. The station is near several cool restaurants and shops. A typical small station that often gets ignored by cleaners. It serves the G Train. There is only the one train that comes here, so it's small, which is't that much of a problem because it always seems there's never that many people here no matter what. It's not a popular station, even though it's in a growing hipster area. This is also close to the Nassau Avenue station, where there's a lot more going on. Has the typical MTA features. It has two entrances, one on each side. Getting a train is annoying. They stop in the middle of the station so you often have to run over to catch it. It overall looks pretty average. Just know direction you're going before you enter. There's no crossover inside the station so you have to go out and reenter.

It's bee rumored for years that the Greenpoint Ave station is haunted. I thought I once saw a ghost crossing the tracks.

Imagine how many people have ridden on the L Line as one of the first segments of the underground Canarsie Line over the past 100 years. Amazing! No Less Than Everything Comes Together. Going back and forth from Williamsburg to Prospect Heights meant a lot of trips from this station through Manhattan. I don't think I'll ever understand why there still isn't a way to get from Brooklyn to Brooklyn without going through Manhattan. Yet, it allowed me to discover a series of beautiful mosaics by Marcel Dzama. The Sun. The Moon. The Sky. All connected in No Less Than Everything Comes Together by Marcel Dzama. The mosaics are so interesting and detailed. Dzama cites that he was influenced by the great Dada movement artist, Marcel Duchamp, but the mosaics remind me more of the Catalan architect, Antoni Gaudi. Either way, the mosaics are so fun and playful. Take a few minutes on your vacation or your daily commute to enjoy the whimsical dancers, the sun, the moon and a few historical characters that all play a part in the mosaics in the underground Bedford Avenue Subway.
