He scanned our ticket and we boarded. The bus was pretty full, so we ended up sitting separately. The above head storage bins are kind of tight, so I had to take something out of my over stuffed backpack to manage to wiggle it in. While my purse sat on my lap. I liked the foot rest and the hook on the handle on the seat in front of me. Trash bags were hung here and there. Looks like they also provided small bottles of water for us, though we had to grab those ourselves. The electric plugs didn't seem to work, but perhaps the ubs plugs in the ceiling did. Our driver was a great communicator. He set expectations so we knew that we had a 20 min rest stop before arriving at Baltimore, and pointed out things to help us to pay attention and to get back to the right bus. He warned us that given current construction that we were sure to arrive later than what our tickets said, and gave us his best eta given the circumstances. Another passenger later commented that the bus bathroom was clean. We kind of ended up being dropped off on a brightly painted bridge in the middle of no where - perhaps on Maryland Ave?, by a bus stop. A short walk from Penn Station.

Terrible experience! Our group of 32 people waited for over…read morean hour in the rain for the bus to arrive. The bus that finally arrived was a 20-year-old beater. The transmission was bad, the alignment and suspension were shot, and the bathroom door did not latch. The suspension was so severely degraded that it audibly bottomed out on road bumps, causing motion sickness among multiple passengers. The transmission could not maintain speed on inclines, making the journey slow and stressful for everyone on board. The windshield wipers were so worn they could barely clear rain from the windshield (a serious safety hazard). Overhead storage bins would not latch, risking items falling on passengers, and the lighting inside most of them did not work. The spare tires were stored in a luggage compartment and had dangerously little tread remaining. We paid Rally/OurBus for what we were promised would be a newer luxury coach with ample luggage space and modern amenities. Instead, we got an old bus with no electrical outlets, damaged seat upholstery, and a bathroom that reeked before a single passenger had even used it. They sent us a vehicle that should not be in passenger service. When we sought a refund, we were bounced between Rally/OurBus (the broker) and All Aboard Express (the bus company), and now neither company will return our calls. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere!

This was so much faster than a twenty minute walk to another station in the Bronx. Fortunately my daughter has the train app, so she bought three tickets for about $5 a pop and after a short wait, we were on our way. Once we got to Union Square we exited, paid for the MTA and once again, we were on our way. Thinking about fare evasion? Don't do it! The fine for not paying for your ticket could be a whopping $100!!! And if you think that you can just sneak in on the train. Think twice. There was a train conductor that was checking if each passenger had a ticket. IYKYK.

Highly recommend over taking the crowded MTA trains and buses or even driving and paying for parking. The train leaves you right across the street the Botanical Garden entrance (Mosholu entrance). Check the train schedule... easy 20 minute ride from Grand Central Station. So convenient that I have learned my lesson and know that I know where the station is and the train schedule, will take the Metro North going to/from Botanical Garden going forward. Station itself wasn't crowded and platform has directions to inform which way trains are headed. Kiosks machines are there to buy your tickets.... The boards inform you when the trains are coming and if delayed... Tip: Get the MTA TrainTime app and purchase tix via mobile... kiosks don't always work and more expensive paying on the train. Just remember to activate ticket before boarding as there is a time limit... Don't stand near the edge of the platform and esp turn away when express trains go by... that whosh of air! Heading back to NY, the Metro North track 4 is where you want to be. Take the overpass bridge to the other side of the tracks.

Excluding me and the driver, there were about 10 passengers. I had two seats to myself. And speaking of seats, they were very comfortable. There was decent legroom (I'm 6'1"). Initially, I couldn't find the outlet. I eventually discovered that it' was hidden under the seat. And unlike the Hampton Jitney, the bus wasn't covered with a tacky looking wrapping. The bus left Manhattan at 1 PM. It was scheduled to arrive at Montauk at 4:15 PM. It arrived at 3:28. And with that said, the ride was far from perfect. The bus was as bumpy as a school bus. It was pure torture. The driver seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. He wasn't mean, just apathetic. Other than checking in people and announcing the stops in a soft voice, he said nothing. I paid $34 which is reasonable. The Luxury Liner doesn't run nearly as frequently as the Jitney or LIRR Montauk branch. Furthermore, you don't get the VIP treatment like on the Hampton Ambassador. If you're looking for a no frills experience and you don't care about comfort then the Luxury Liner is ideal.

I made the reservation I told them I was traveling with my pet & they agree only if he was in a carrier or crate. They charged me for my dog. Talk about my dog was too big even if my dog was small that van wasn't wide enough to put any size dog on the floor. That van wasn't comfortable too narrow for customers to get off or on the bus. The drivers didn't help me on or off the bus. Didn't have a handle for me to hold on to. They didn't help me with my dog.
