Ronnie is a total professional. He introduced me to my contractor Jade Construction. Ronnie did the kitchen design. It is awesome. We didn't know what to expect when we started the process. Ronnie guided us totally. We looked at other companies but MTD was the best and also the best value. The kitchen and remodel went flawlessly thanks to the coordination between MTD and Jade (Isaac). These guys are crooks. Plain and simple. They sold me on the cabinet color and height which I wanted and they came back to me 2 weeks later letting me know that the color I wanted only comes in 36" or 42", not the 39" which we agreed upon. I let them know that I'm not sure if I could fit 42" in my kitchen and would need to do a remodel in order to fit that in my place. After months of back and forth with architects, city plan check and my HOA it was determined that I can't knock down the ceiling to fit a 42" cabinet like Yuval at MTD Kitchen said I would have to do in order to get the color I ordered. I kindly requested a refund for the 10% deposit which I made, and they had the audacity to say I would have to pay a $500 fee for the design which they made. They left me with no choice but to dispute the charge with my credit card company. MTD KITCHENS SOLD ME A PRODUCT WHICH THEY COULDN'T DELIVER TO ME AND STILL EXPECTED ME TO HONOR MY 10% DEPOSIT EVEN THOUGH THE ORDER WAS NEVER PLACED. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. read more

Yes we received a free measurement, no fee charged. However when we scheduled an appointment to discuss the possibilities, we arrived early, so we checked out the place. When we sat down we were told that the appointment before us didn't show,but they called an hour after they had scheduled theirs. As we discussed different designs they arrived and so we were rushed, with short responses to our questions. The other people approached an spoke to each other in their language. The customer service went out the door! We felt neglected & rushed, maybe it was our nationality? Why we didn't get the same attention? So we took our business elsewhere. read more

Worst service ever. Takes your money and runs. Ordered cabinets without installation (I mean how hard is it to put together some IKEA cabinets). We were NEVER told they come unassembled because Avi signed the "contract" from his own computer with our "login". So the cabinets arrive and we bite the bullet and attempt to put together our IKEA cabinets out of a flat box. However, there's no way a cabinet can stay together with 4 screws on the back; the sides fall off. Called MTD, a rude lady transferred me back to Avi who proceeded to yell and "school" me on their process and that my contractors and I are all idiots; we should have paid for installation. Told him I'd stop by on a few minutes so they can show me how the sides are supposed to stay together. Upon arrival, I was just slammed with further loud screaming at me that my contractors and I are stupid and I need to pay for installation (additional $2,000 for $4500 cabinets). Avi proceeds to tell me "do you see these hands ( one inch from my face) they do not install anything. Listen to your elders and respect me, you need installation. I'm 62 years old and you need to listen to me .... blah blah blah". Didn't say a word. Told me take my cabinet out of there immediately. Told him yes sir and proceeded to leave while he and a male worker on left proceeded to talk in another language. If you don't speak Armenian or Hebrew, good luck here. We renovated our entire home and worked with MTD throughout the whole process. Liza was our designer for our kitchen and she was wonderful! Her ideas and designs made our dream kitchen come true and we could not be happier. She came up with beautiful designs that I would have never thought of and was truly creative. We purchased all of our material from MTD with the help of Alex. He has an excellent eye for which styles and materials compliment one another best. He made the process of selecting our materials so much easier than what we had experienced at other stores. When I met with Ronnie at MTD, he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I brought pictures of the existing kitchen and said I needed to get new cabinets. He came up with some great ideas. I'm so glad he made the recommendations. He worked with me to get me the quality and style I wished for and being able to stay within my budget. While he shared some upgrade ideas with me, there was no hard sell - actually, he didn't try to sell at all. He was a consultant who helped me thoughtfully. I'm thrilled with the kitchen. Ronnie earned 5 stars! Ronnie was able to satisfy my need for urgent installation. The delivery of materials was on-time, the installers showed up on-time, and the quality of their work was excellent. It's been a month now and the cabinets are fabulous. One thing you might want to keep in mind is that if you ask the installer to do something differently, ask him what he thinks about your idea, and if he can think of any ramifications it might have down the line. I will NEVER do business with this company, because, I believe, it's the little things that tell you so much about a person, or in this case, a business. So, here's the small incident that prompted my review (alas, 0, is not an option, here!) A couple of weeks ago, Jericho, of MTD Kitchen offered me the price of $7.49 per square foot, for the tile I had selected for my kitchen backsplash. At the time, I didn't have the measurements, for the area, but informed him that I'd return, with the info, once my installer had, accurately, measured the area. He informed me that, the kitchen area was, on average, approximately,40 square feet. So, I did return, last week, and was told, by the young man, at the reception counter, that the cost was $8.50 per square foot, for the designated tile. I told him that Jericho had, previously, informed me that the cost for the tile was $7.49, not $8,50/square foot he was, now quoting. He checked with Jericho, who replied that, Nope, the price was $8.50. I, then, approached Jericho, to clarify the situation, and to my shock, the, initially, amiable, Jericho, who had promised me the lower price, during my first visit, rudely, challenged me to prove that he had, in fact, originally, quoted me the $7.49/per square foot price, for the tile. I wasn't aware that it was incumbent upon me to prove the validity of the price quoted. I, mistakenly, believed that a company honors its word. He, then, attempted to backpedal, by asking the square footage of the backsplash area., When I informed him, of the 30 square foot dimensions, he replied that , maybe if it were a large area, i.e. about, "100 square feet, " the $7.49/square foot price would be in effect. I'm confused, here. So, now the price is contingent upon the area of the space. Methinks, I smell a bait, and switch rat. Look, the price is not, at issue, here; certainly it's a small dollar amount difference. What is, at issue, is the large issue, reflective of this small issue. It's the principle, not the principal! And the principle is that a company honors its word. Clearly, MTD doesn't do that! I, reiterate, I'll NEVER do business, with them. read more

I wouldn't take my business here in a 1000yrs. i should have known better when they were difficult to schedule time with to design my kitchen (which i had already designed), but things got worse as i proceeded. in the end they did not stand behind their word or take care of some issue. MTD Kitchen was the first and only place we shopped for a kitchen and we are so happy we went there. The designer Cathy "Cat" Alvarez was the absolute best to deal with. She handled the kitchen design and a couple different measurements, and anything else we needed. She answered her phone day or night or called us back immediately even if it was on a weekend. We not only did a kitchen remodel, we moved the kitchen from one room to another part of the house, so there were more questions that we needed answered than a regular kitchen remodel and she was always there for us. Cathy made a very stressful thing like a home renovation and kitchen remodel almost enjoyable. She made multiple trips to our house to make sure everything came out perfect. The quality of the cabinets we purchased are top notch, they are plywood backed not cheap particle board. Also the quartz counter tops are beautiful! The installer Eugene also did an excellent job and made sure the fit and finish was perfect! If you are shopping for a kitchen don't waste your time go to MTD Kitchen and make sure you ask for Cathy Alvarez!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! read more

We had bought kitchen cabinets for a rental property. They never installed the center island and when I called to inquire about it, they said they would look into it and check the paperwork. I called several times and they said they were looking for the order on their computer. I went in and called on numerous occasions (at least 50x) and they always said that they would have "Gil" the owner call me or get back to me because they could not find the paperwork on their end. I went in several times too, and they would say nobody was in to help me and to "come back tomorrow".... Gil is very busy..... Needless to say, I never got the island! The last time I was in, their kitchen designer was with some new customers and actually told me to "GO AWAY" he could not help me!! (Mind you I am 49 years of age and a woman). I would never recommend this company due to their lack of customer service and support. I spent nearly $10,000 on my kitchen and they never bothered to call me back or correct the problem. In hindsight, I should have contacted my credit card company to stop payment on the charge. They are not contractors, so you can't go after their bond either if you have any sort of problem with the work once it is paid for. Very disappointed. read more

They were referrred to my agent and they did a poor job. My agent recommended them since he had a good experience with MTD Vanitites but MTD Kitchen was a disaster - Poor design, planning and job supervision. I would neither recommend nor use them ever again. They are neither professional nor customer service friendly. I do have to mention that I was happy with MTD Vanities but be aware they are different companies - I think they are brothers!. After posting my review the company contacted my property manager and threatened that they would report us to Building & Safety! That is professionalism for you!!! I NEVER write reviews but the service was so horrible that I just had to write this. Walked in on a Sunday wanting to BUY not browse (although there's nothing wrong with that either). The gentleman at the main desk asked us to let him know when we needed help. We noticed 3 employees sitting at their desk but we were not approached. After seeing a few cabinets we liked we walked bacK to the original gentleman to ask for help. He indicated Sunday's are by appointment only and he would see if anyone was available (we were literally the only customers there). He called out to one of the employees to have us helped but that person basically asked why someone else couldn't help us. He then asked another gentleman to help us who kindly got up and began to tend to us. When we mentioned we were looking for just the cabinets without installation he referred us to Nika Roback. I asked her how durable the cabinets I liked were and she stated, "as opposed to what?!?" She was rude and had no desire to help us. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. If it was possible to give this place no stars, I would. My husband and I visited MTD this past weekend to looks at tiles for our master bathroom. We have already ordered the vanity (with a gray Carrera marble countertop) and needed to bring home several samples so that when the vanity arrives we can pick the flooring and place an order. Unfortunately MTD thinks that you should be able to guess at what will match and just cross your fingers and hope for the best -- BECAUSE THEY WON'T GIVE SAMPLES!!! The only way they will give you a sample is if you simultaneously place an order. Um, yeah. That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard and not going to happen. Tried to give MTD a chance but we will be going back to Surface USA (who will send us home with as many samples as we like!). read more

There are two parts to MTD: Tile and Kitchen. Alex, the manager who deals with the tile, was very friendly and helped us out when there was an error in our order. Michelle, one of the kitchen designers was horrible. She was impatient, short-tempered, and never returned phone calls. I even caught her rolling her eyes to a colleague when we were designing our kitchen. She refused to explain price discrepancies and she miscalculated our countertop dimensions. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS! read more

Let me start by saying that the cabinets that were installed are beautiful, however, the installer for the counter top was horrible. He had several no shows to the house without a call or explanation. I had to call him after waiting half an hour and find out that he can't come that day. At the end when I settled up charges, they discounted me $100. My time must be really cheap to them. read more

After being quoted upwards of $15,000 to $27,000 for a kitchen remodel (JUST the cabinets) I found MTD Kitchens in my Apartment Owners Association magazine. SO GLAD I contacted them!! Rhochie, our designer, was extremely creative and horribly patient, working with our existing cabinetry in a craftsman-style rental house in La Canada to coordinate a perfect cabinet renovation that seamlessly matches the style of the old display cupboards in the breakfast nook area. We remodeled the entire kitchen for under $6000, bought a formica countertop at Lowe's for under $100, and some new (used) appliances off CL for less than $700. The entire kitchen looks BRAND-NEW/GORGEOUS and we were able to secure a renter at a prime rate. The cabinets are excellent quality, all wood, soft-close drawers, and high-end hardware INCLUDED. We will 1000% be contacting Rhochie at MTD in the future. Oh, and that price included ONE DAY installation!!! read more

Marcos my designer was great and helped me maximize my space and get everything I wanted at a great price. He was great at answering my calls and texts and even drove an item out when it was forgotten. MTD beat all the other quotes I had gotten and gave me much more. My only issue was with the scheduling dept., I kinda had to stay on top of them and call them to move things along faster but the cabinet guys were great and stayed extra late both days to get the job done and the countertop guys did a great job on my quartz. read more

We are in the process of remodeling two bathrooms and were looking for good-looking but cheap tiling. After visiting a few other stores on Sherman Way, we quickly realized that all stores offer the same mainstream tiling supplies: if you are not looking for crazy colors, or designer style tiles, there's virtually no difference in the selection.... So what does it come down to? You guess right - customer service and pricing. MTD has both. Alex was very helpful and worked with us so we could meet our budget requirements. He was neither pushy nor snobby (unlike the imperial tile store a few blocks down the road - where they don't give a **** about you as soon as you look like you're on tight budget). We ordered the tiles and they were ready to be picked up within two days. Their warehouse doesn't look like it's on site so they may not have what you need immediately. We'll certainly keep this in mind when shopping again for flooring supplies. read more

The only reason I am giving this place 1 star is because of the price. I guess you get what you pay for. Buyer beware!! The guy helping us [Gil] screwed up our order twice, then when the screw ups were brought to his attention he tried to put it back on me, the customer, and said I should of caught his screw ups before the order was placed. Do not trust these guys. Make sure you cross your T's and dot your I's, these guys will screw you and then place the blame on you. I am very pleased with the purchase of my porcelain tiles for my bathroom. Jericho was extremely helpful in meeting my budget and he gave me extra tiles just because. Because of my experience here, I ended up buying a vanity from them as well and I got the best price for it. Now that my mini-reno has extended to my flooring, I have returned to MTD to find the right porcelain tiles and again, Jericho was awesome. I am a shopper, to be sure. Also as picky as they get. We had already gone through two designers full bore and still were not happy. We went to MTD where AVI took care of us, and I mean took care of us well. I put him through the ringer and he took it, and preformed. Our Kitchen came out fantastic and we have AVI and MTD to greatly thank for it. Worked with MDT on my kitchen renovation project. Everything went well during the selecting process. When it came time for delivery they delivered defected merchandise. When I told them I needed it fixed they yes-d me to death but did nothing other than putting me in touch with the manufacturer so I could fight my own battle. In the end I still have defected materials because their customer service was not there. There are tons of tile stores and this one has good stuff but does not stand behind their product or care about customer service.They also claim they are giving you great discounted prices but stores down the way from them have the same stuff for less. We bought tiles for several of our rooms here over the past year. After shopping around at many different places, we kept finding tiles here that we liked and were reasonably priced. Selection is good, prices are decent, but the service really depends on who you get. We had one girl who miscalculated how much materials we needed, but luckily we were able to order more. Recently, we've only been working with Jericho. He's friendly and helpful, and knows what he's talking about. Would definitely return here for future tile needs. read more
