Simon (the owner and general contractor) Jorge (the amazingly talented in house designer) and their supporting team of long term workers (like Misha, Tigran and Ken) made the construction process a wonderful experience. Everyone involved spent hours listening to what we wanted and offering suggestions on what to do to accomplish our goals and to stay within our budget. Jorge helped throughout with everything from color schemes and design, to meeting us at the various stores to select/approve everything from flooring and countertops to appliances and hardware. The end results are amazing and makes us smile everyday. The quality of the work was first class. Professional, responsive, helpful, honest, detail oriented and all around nice people. We have used other contractors through the years, but Designer Kitchen was far and away the best overall experience. We were sad when the jobs were finished as it felt like old friends or family were moving away. Without a doubt we'll hire them again if we have any construction needs in the future.

However our contractor wasn't ready so Greg said it was okay to keep the cabinets there for a few more days until contractor was ready to install. This way they didn't have to find a place inside our home. Super duper nice gesture and we sincerely appreciated it. We added the handles and these cabinets are not push to close - although one could do that after the fact. We like handles and pulls better. We are very happy customers. At this very moment I am paying for someone to cut out a shelve he built that prevents us from putting the electrical plates back on. I call Amin, tell him he built over them, he says it's my fault for not measuring correctly. Who knew I was supposed to be an expert at measuring for built-ins? I sure wish I had watched him like a hawk because the cabinets are now so high, my housekeeper can't reach the second shelf to put cups away. I assumed he would keep the same height as the old ones. He knows I'm only 5'5" . When I hesitated on his final payment, this man became monstrous, harassing me. And he never did fix any of the problems I have. All my complaints were answered with "you signed off on it," referring to diagrams no layman could possibly read. Or sketches with measurements i didn't realize that i should have measured myself, instead of trusting the expert. He took responsibility for nothing, and wants thousands of dollars more to fix his mistakes - won't even pull out the useless spice racks without charging me. Other than that...nice work, but definitely not worth it.

Thankfully, we were introduced to Sol and Kitchens Design by a friend, and our three month "nightmare" was corrected and over in less than four weeks. Sol immediately went into action mode and brought in his designer, who laid out with us on a 3 dimensional computer program, our ideas for the layout. After some great suggestions from Sol, we were settled on a design that gave us pretty much everything we were looking for. A mere 18 days later, the cabinetry was delivered and the installation started the next day. They did a very thorough and exacting job with the install, and any minor issues were quickly dealt with by Sol. Cabinetry was painted, quartz counter-top installed, tile back-splash laid, hardware perfectly put on and we were off and running with our beautiful new kitchen in less time than originally estimated!
