My boyfriend was so excited to start playing "The Last of Us" on his PS3, but every time we tried to get through the opening credits of the game, his PS3 would just shut down. Ryan was super friendly and chatted it up with us the whole time. Unfortunately, the PS3's motherboard was fried and it would cost us way too much to replace it (and wouldn't make sense to buy an entirely new PS3), so Jack from Mobile Tech Solutions graciously offered the option of trading in my boyfriend's broken PS3 for a refurbished PS3. I understand that PC repair shops have to overbook because lots of their jobs fall through. I understand that taking care of emergencies takes priority (see the 5-star reviews) and people underestimate tasks. I do not understand their failure to notify me when they could not deliver what they committed to. Twice. I appreciate making a special trip on Sunday to let me pick up my PC , but that does not compensate for lack of communication. If they had said it would take a week, I would have been happier than two missed dates. Of course, I might have taken my business elsewhere, but they would not have a new 2-star revew. Note to self, never keep valuable electronics within reach of a 1y/o toddler. Especially if that device is a shiny Xbox 360 with touch sensitive power and eject buttons, and cool noises and lights. Long story short, she jammed my disc tray and I didn't know how to fix it without opening it, which I didn't trust myself doing anyway. I bought my used PS3 here when I was getting my Xbox repaired, and inevitably, it suffers the YLOD every year or so. I always come back here to have MTS fix it because they are super friendly and their repairs come guaranteed for at least a month. This most recent time I had to come (I think I've only had to come twice for a YLOD within like 3 years) they offered to deliver it to me since I don't have a car and it's a little inconvenient for me to ride the bus there with this giant, fat PS3 in my arms. While playing as NightWing in the Arkham City Combat Challenge Joker's Carnival, I got the dreaded PS3 YLOD (Yellow Light of Death). My six year old PS3 had pooped out. Not only had my console died, the game disc was stuck in the Blue Ray player. I looked up on how to repair the PS3 and found out the I needed a heat gun and thermal gel and over two hours of work. I could sent the console back to Sony for repair at the cost of $150 plus shipping. I finally found the pleasant people at Mobile Tech Solutions. Instead of repairing my console, I purchased a new console with my old dead console as trade-in. They ported over my PS3 trophies and saved games at no cost and were able to save my game disc. My HP laptop was having issues with the screen freezing and blanking out, ran slow as heck, and kept shutting off due to overheating. Sent it over to Jack and not only did he fix my problems by replacing the graphics card and the screen, he also installed me from Windows Vista to Windows 7, and installed my new MS Office 2010 version, and fixed my overheating problem! I was told he cleared my cookies, cleaned out existing viruses and spybots, of which I accumulated tons of them over the years! It's a hidden little shop on the second floor of the plaza so it was a little difficult to locate but I found it. I took my PS3 to them to repair the YLOD(yellow light of death) and within two weeks it was done and I got my system back. Super friendly and speedy service. Got my play station to work! But took almost two months. Took it in because my blu ray lens wasn't reading the disk. Unfortunately they had to order it and it was on back order boo. I had a good experience with this company. My PS3 had shut itself down with the infamous blinking light, and they diagnosed and fixed it within 48 hours, even when they quoted more days. The customer service is excellent, I had a PS3 upgrade, they completed the job within 1-2 business days and the employees waited for me minutes after they close. I haven't actually had anything repaired here (yet), but I have to rave about their awesome customer service. After reading their Yelp reviews, I called them up to see if they could repair a doll-sized mini Macintosh desktop computer (battery-operated, with the click of the attached mouse and keyboard, a typed report about the Big Dipper appears on the screen). It's 20 years old and there is some corrosion, so it no longer works. After describing this, the guy I spoke to (can't recall his name) referred me to another business that can better service my doll-computer needs, and provided a phone number. Also, when I asked about repairing an HTC One M8, he referred me to another electronics repairman who he knows is able to repair this model, since, apparently, this phone in particular is difficult to service. I appreciate the referrals; he could have simply said he can't repair either item and left it at that, but he went the extra mile to lead me to a couple of businesses that can. read more

After 6 years my PS3 wouldn't start and googling the symptoms revealed the Yellow Light of Doom, You can try fixing it yourself with the iFixit video repair guide and/or their $40 kit but I knew professionals would have a higher chance of success. I first tried "Console Sage" on Yelp but he hasn't returned phone messages.
