I had an older iMac computer that had stopped working. I called Neil at Coastside Computer Repair. I explained my problem to him, and he said he would look at it. I brought over the computer to him and advised him that I was not in a hurry. A few hours later, Neil called me and explained what was happening with my desktop. Neil is AMAZING! I've had a MacBook since 2011, it started acting up and shutting off on its own and then eventually wouldn't work at all. Neil got it to turn on instantly, eventually He decided to run a diagnostic anyway because start up time was pretty bad and it's been giving me issues in general anyway. Turned out it was the hard drive. Diagnosis was reasonable and included if i fix it with them. but the repairs and labor ran me about $185 plus cost of drive which is generally i would be spending more at apple store. Neil was super-fast He completed the work in 3 hours which was phenomenal because I expected at least a week. I'm happy! seriously Neil cares and does good job in fixing your computer and advise is free after fixing. Neil has been very helpful over the years and always when I needed him the most. I own a recording studio here in South San Francisco and my computers are extremely important to me. When it breaks down, I'm totally stuck. There is only one person I can count on in the bay area. This just happened 2 days ago: my Mac pro crashed in the middle of the session with the band from New York waiting around. Neil drove to my business, fixed it like in an hour (without having to reload my files and programs) and we were ready to rock. Turned out to be the connection between the hard drive and the mother board. He made the extra trip to buy me the part, came back to the studio, cleaned the computer up and advised me to buy the time capsule and time machine to back up the whole computer in case of a static surge. Neil has been super helpful and reliable fixing my computer before school starts. I got a really expensive MacBook Pro when I started college 3 years ago and to get it fixed by apple I might as well have bought a new laptop. But Neil got it done in 3 days for a much more reasonable price for a college kid on a budget.
