However, in return with a cracked concrete. No response at all after a notification. What they have done defines what they are, so I don't recommend this company. read more

We were satisfied with half the job and dissatisfied with the other half. Tree trimming was reasonably priced and well done. Other yard clean up was overpriced for the end result. It's partly my fault for not noticing that the contract description didn't match the verbal agreement. The other frustration was that they didn't show up for the second half of the job on the day they were supposed to. I had arranged my schedule so that I would be home. Received a phone call an hour after the agreed upon arrival window that they wouldn't be able to do the job that day. I might use them again for tree service. This time, they followed an unsolicited promo with a pressure-filled follow-up when I didn't respond. I explicitly told them to stop. Their response was an apology paired with "we'll make a note of it," which tells me this behavior is routine, not accidental. That alone is enough for me to block the number and take my business elsewhere. Using past customer contact information for repeated promotional outreach, then minimizing a clear boundary request reflects poor judgment and weak respect for consent. Antonio and his crew arrived early ready to trim the four Arborvitaes I have on my front/side yard. The trees were growing up into rain gutters. The trees have not been trimmed since planted 13 years ago. Antonio and his crew did an excellent job of topping and shaping the trees. They cleaned everything up. I have used MTS Tree and Landscape previously replacing my Evergreen trees in the backyard. We were worried about a tree on our property. MTS sent Brad out to provide us a free consultation. He came right on time. He checked out all of our trees and pointed out some things to watch out for. He advised that the tree we were concerned about did not need anything at this time and recommended we avoid likely unsuccessful "treatments" that might be sold by others for some other tree conditions. He did not try to "sell us" on any products or services but offered availability for future services if we decided to pursue some trimming. Very personable and educational. read more

I have had nothing but disappointing experiences with MTS. We put our money and trust in them and their designer, Jessica, only to have received nothing. We were quoted for a garden design plan, to which Jessica took many months to respond to and begin. Once she began, she insisted she needed to have her team come out and clear out property so she could do a "proper" design. We paid $5k for a team to come out and do some brush clearing throughout the property. When Jessica finally presented an initial design plan (again, many weeks after she promised she would have it) it was not accurate to our garden at all and made me realize the brush clearing was completely unnecessary. We asked for a few revisions to which we were told we would receive by May 15 and have still not heard back. We have called the company and emailed many times in the last month to figure out when this design project (which we started inquiring with in January) would be completed and have heard nothing from anyone in this company. At this point, we have spent $7.5k with MTS that I don't believe we will be getting back. Either our project was not important to them, or they are happy to take money without providing the services promised. The crew that came to do the clearing did a good enough job, the issue is not with them but with Jessica and the management team for being completely unresponsive to our demands for receiving what we paid for. read more

When I called to enquire I was told they had made a mistake and now the quote was 2.5 times more. At best it's unprofessional. Not showing up and then trying to quote me a much higher price. I had a very disappointing experience with MTS Tree and Landscape. Their lack of communication and professionalism has been extremely frustrating and a nightmare. I would not recommend MTS Tree and Landscape to anyone looking for reliable and professional tree removal services. Here is my case. I signed a contract for the removal of three holly trees, two additional holly trees in a different spot, and a dead poplar tree. The main reason for hiring them was to remove the dead poplar tree, but I thought it would be a good idea to clean up my backyard by removing the holly trees as well. On August 2nd, the tree removal team came and said that they needed a spider lift to remove the poplar tree. I was frustrated that the company's arborist, who came to my home for the estimate, didn't inform the team about the tree's condition and prepare the necessary equipment. However, since they were already there, they decided to remove the holly trees first and then schedule the poplar tree removal. They also forced me to pay for the holly tree removal, even though I preferred to pay the full amount after all the work was completed. I paid and requested that they schedule the poplar tree removal as soon as possible. Despite multiple calls, text messages, and emails from me, and even a few calls from my neighbor who referred this company, there has been no progress. As of today, August 28th, I visited their listed address to arrange an appointment in person, but it turned out to be just a mailbox address with no actual company there. I tried and waited for as much as I can to keep the contract completed, and if this last tree is unable to be cut for whatever reason, this would be a breach of the contract by the company. read more

A very tall Douglas Fir on my property had a big dead branch way up in the tree. MTS guys came today, and very professionally climbed up there to remove the dead branch before it could fall and damage our fence. They also cleaned up the dead branches on the way up. The review is only for the planting and garden maintenance service that the company provides. I don't have experience with tree services. If you want to ruin your garden, this place is for you. What was promised and what was delivered is as far apart as it can get. My front yard looks worse than before we started with the project. 50% of plants on the back yard are dead. I think it was one of the first planting projects for the team that they've ever done. All plants are planted incorrectly: in wrong places (shade vs sun), not deep enough with roots on the surface, in random order and there's no attempt to do design work. If plants randomly flew down from the sky on my property it'd pretty much describe the service that the company provided. All weed removal was pointless as weeds are back within 3 weeks after the project end date. In addition they came to add mulch with a blow truck causing me another 2 days cleaning the house and surroundings and they left a huge mess. Anyways, look at the pictures, check out quality planting, quality of weed removal, quality building and the front yard that looks like it's a bulldozer parking lot rather than a garden with $20k investment. Eventually I had to get another company to come and fix issues and replant what can be replanted. read more

This is my first time working with MTS. They had amazing customer service on the phone. The estimate was done in a timely fashion and very fair. The work was fantastic! I wasn't home the day Jacob and hais crew did the work. I had a couple questions about the results and Jacob drove back out to my house two days later on Saturday at 430 pm to answer my questions. I wanted to know if it would be safe to remove two more limbs on a tree he worked on two days prior. He said it was, put on his gear, and safely took down the limbs. I was super impressed with his willingness to come back to a job site. I had actually already paid the bill the day after the main job. Overall, I am 100% satisfied. We will be calling MTS again for more jobs in the future! read more

9 out of 10 stars (rounding up to 5 stars) Matts Tree Service (MTS Tree and Landscape) provided an excellent finished product above our expectations. They were very flexible scheduling our job into two phases to accommodate a concrete contractor that poured a pad for us near one of the trees that were removed. After the concrete work (that used our front lawn as a parking lot) finished, MTS came back and completed the landscaping portions of the work. In the course of tree felling and removal, retaining walls in our backyard and front yard were damaged. Alex (owner of MTS) came out himself and examined the damaged and discussed options. Our backyard wooden beam wall was previously in decent shape so he and his team dug out, reset, and reanchored those beams. The frontyard wooden beam wall had started to rot out in several places and Alex offered two options, his team could resack the wall as they were able or we could pay only materials for a new rock wall to be installed (including demo and haul away of the existing wooden beams). My wife and I took advantage of the generous offer and are very pleased with the end result and its quality for a project we'd had on the horizon already but thought could not be done short term. Two reasons for 9/10 instead of 10/10 (rounding up to 5 stars): 1) Communictation breakdowns between MTS departments: Our project involved both the arborist services and landscaping services of MTS. During the project there were some communication break downs on scheduling and scope of work. Sometimes I was informing and clarifying workers of the work order details, but they were receptive to this feedback. Alex also provided a good synchronization point between the two groups of the company as most of the office workers seemed scoped to only one component of the project. 2) Minor Damage during work: There was some minor damage to our chainlink fence (a bar was bent by the tree while they were removing it) and to our gutter (but not the roof; by the excavator when working on the front walkway gravel). These seened insignificant in the scheme of work done so I did not mention them to MTS or ask for restitution, which they had already ambly provided in their handling of the above mentioned retaining wall damage. read more

My husband and I hired MTS to remove and install trees in our backyard. When it came to installing the new trees (arborvitaes), some of the trees didn't look new. We figured maybe a few weeks of occasional watering would spring the trees back to life. Unfortunately that was not the case. 5 of the 16 trees died within a month. We gave it a few more months afterward to see if maybe the greenery would come back, but sadly to no avail. I tried texting and emailing the individual that scheduled the tree service to ask them to replace the trees and have not gotten any response. Severely disappointed. read more

CLASSIC "BAIT AND SWITCH" OUTFIT. I called MTS to have them give me a quote for some tree thinning work. They said that I had received a quote from them within the last six month, and that they would still honor the quote. They emailed me the proposal, which after reviewing it and having some questions answered by their phone rep, I agreed to move forward with the job. THE VERY NEXT DAY I got a call from someone in their office saying they were NOT going to honor the quote that they had just sent me. They said the sales rep who had given me the quote was no longer working there. I asked them what difference does that make? They wouldn't answer me. We did a walk through upon arrival and they did everything I asked. They even checked in with me along the way to make sure I was happy before moving on. The cleaned up when they were done. Actually did good work when they showed up.... Found them via personal recommendation Hired them had them come out work up a quote which they did, we accepted the quote and they started work. They showed up twice then stopped coming and stopped responding even when we tried to contact them to pay for the two times they did show up. When I was able to get ahold of them through the owner he said they had fired that project manager who had quoted our job which is why they stopped coming. They come back out to meet me because the rest of my HOA already wanted to fire them but they had the best bid so I wanted to give them another chance. I walk the property with the owner Alex who is a very nice guy, he explains the different work they want to do on the trees and the can bring in bark etc. while discussing this mentioned a few times the previous guy underbid the job but he will honor the quote. Ok things settle in and are good for a while, they do some really good work cleaning out the beds and taking generally good care of the property. Then things start to go sideways from there, we get a quote to lay down bark but it's basic two line item invoice and my HOA asks for some more detail on cost per yard along with other details we can present to the homeowners. Silence... just goes dark no response. Ok we move on they management company reaches out trying to ask them to come to an HOA meeting to meet the board. Silence.... Ok now I contact the owner to say we aren't getting a response as it was a personal recommendation from a family member so I had originally contacted him directly through Facebook and had his info. Says he will look into it..... Then I bet a message saying while he enjoys working with me my HOA and management company are too hard to deal with and they no longer want the business. I wouldn't be so upset had I not out my neck out with the board to get them another chance after ghosting us the first time. I would NOT recommend them for any ongoing commercial service but they probably are better at project work that doesn't requiring maintaining ongoing relationships. Nice people and I wish they wanted the business enough to make it work. Of course there are two sides to every story and I know my HOA and management company can be a bit of a pain but that's par for the course when talking condo work... comes with the territory.
